Longs Drug Stores

Now that CVS has taken over this store it sucks. Pharmacy automatic refill, calls 3 times a day and when you get to the store half the meds are not filled. I’ve asked numerous times for them not to call until ALL the meds are filled. They asked ME if I’d like to change to a generic brand to save money I said sure, they said THEY’D call the MD and change over. Get to pharmacy this is the only prescription not filled, had to come back and they give me the brand name anyway. Incompetent crew at this location!

CVS has purchased Long’s and that is so sad. I have shopped at Long’s for 25 years. CVS bought it and laid carpeting. This is SoCal, we don’t have snow or rain, who needs filthy carpeting. But that aside, a small purchase took me 15 minutes in line. The register did not recognize the buy one get one free. It did not like my ATM nor my VISA card. I wrote a check and knew it was the last time I would ever shop in there. What a pity. They took a perfectly good neighborhood pharmacy/​sundry store and messed it all up.

god… i feel so bad for the high school kids that get suckered into working here. i must admit, its a lot better than the old days when they tried to cram so many rows of crap in one building that it was bursting at the seams with depends and half of seasonal crap. they have changed it. its cleaner. brighter. less crowded. doesn’t mean it doesn’t suck. the people working here aren’t so happy about their lot in life. you have the 40 somethings that couldn’t make it at the pavilions down the street because it was just too fast paced for them. then you have the 16 yr olds who need a job because the parents will no longer pay for the DUIs and various speeding tickets. these kids get their spirits crushed within the first 5 minutes of employment when an old man calls them stupid because he doesn’t realize that this is no longer 1951 and yes, sales tax is 8.25%. miserafuckingble. i hate going in here. i only going in here when i’m looking for the utmost random shit that can also be labeled (as seen on tv)… aka hercules hooks. unfortunately they dont even have those. geez, so worthless.

my original review was for 1 star because this place is ridiculously depressing and full of depends. well, it still is except this time i went to the pharmacy! the pharmacy alone has raised this place two stars. its open til 9pm Mon — Thurs and consists of staff that are quick to get your meds and extremely friendly. i heart the pharmacy people here. i came in at 8pm with 3 prescriptions and they were all filled within 10 minutes. hooray for the pharmacy!
