This is truly a hidden gem in an area full of fast food establishments. For $ 5 plus change, I had a very flavorful garlic chicken/pork fried rice lunch. Veggies were fresh and crisp, chicken was firm(not too soft like at other Chinese places), and the sauce was a nice balance of sweet, salty, and spicy. If you’re in the area(driving up or down I-95) and looking for an inexpensive lunch, be sure to check this place out.

Food was great. Not too far from my hotel. Broccoli seemed over cooked but other than that no issues. Veggies were plentiful to include snow peas, carrot, water chestnuts, onion, mushrooms, and what looked like tofu. Pork Fried rice also had carrots and peas. Not usually a fan of peas in my rice but they were not overpowering. Rice was flavorful no sauces needed. Egg roll was delicious plain. Again no sauce needed Fast service less than 10 min. And great prices. If from out of town…. They are in the Plaza by Walmart right between Papa John’s and Subway Will visit again when I’m in the area

we ordered rice noodle and they are pretty decent for a Chinese fastfood place at a small town. Good choice for us on the way home through I-95.

China Lin is unassuming but the food is quite good and very reasonably priced. They have become my preferred Chinese restaurant in town as most of the other Chinese places have gone upscale with a grill and buffet(and have raised their prices where it’s near-impossible to have lunch for under $ 10). While grills are nice enough, buffets invite health concerns with questionable sneeze guards and food that sits out for too long. With China Lin, you know that your food is freshly-cooked and no one else has been poking through it.

Stopped off I-95 in Roanoke Rapids for a lunch break. I decided on China Lin, which is located at Premier Landing(next to Subway & Papa John’s), across the street from Chick-Fil-A and Starbucks(visible from I-95). The place is your standard strip plaza Chinese takeout place which is order at the counter with open kitchen and self serve table seating from the front entrance to the counter area. China Lin offers the standard Chinese menu with Cantonese, Szechuan, and Hunan dishes and house specialty dishes. The prices here seem reasonable, menu items are priced under $ 10. 39 Special Lunch Plates($ 4.35 each until 3:30PM) served with pork fried rice or white rice and 23 Combination Plates($ 6.50 each) served with pork fried rice or white rice and egg roll. I got the L27 Shrimp Lo Mein with Pork Fried Rice($ 4.35 plus tax), which was ready to go in under 10 minutes. The portion of hot food was good sized for lunch. The Shrimp Lo Mein had tender shrimp(deveined) with a mix of carrots, green onions, cabbage, tossed with soft noodles, tasted good on the oily side. The fried rice had a firm texture a mix of carrot, peas, onions, & scallions and mostly tender roast pork cubes. This was more than enough food, which I managed to finish for lunch and a snack on the road. The food overall tasted pretty good and was cooked fresh, better than many Chinese places near my NH home. Glad I stopped here! 3.7÷5.0
