KFC

Stopped here on a road trip. Not a bad place. The food was good & service was even better. A few flies but that’s understandable.

I have not been to a KFC in years, but was pleasantly surprised and impressed by how tasty and fresh the food was. It tasted more like homemade than fast food. This location was clean, and the service was good. Well done!

Dirty floor, beverage station, walls, and buffet. Employees smoking out side the front door having a profane conversation with a friend. Slow order fill due to lots of joking, conversating, and socializing behind the counter. Employee almost lying down in the booth behind us, on break, using his cell phone. Unwelcoming and dirty location.
Food was ok, typical KFC. I would not recommend it… but we were just passing through, so maybe it’s better other times.

I had forgotten about how good KFC used to be. The YUM Brands experience that is KFC now, is like eating a 5 Guys burger and a sandwich made out of salt ceramic.
I had made a day trip to a Ham radio show with a buddy of mine, and on the way back, we decided to stop for gas for the car, and lunch for us. We saw the KFC Buffet sign from the interstate, and after scoping out the other available eateries, we decoded to take a chance here.
Frankly, my previous recent experiences with YUM Brand KFC was horrific at best. I was not expecting a lot. There were only 1 or 2 other diners inside, and when we got our plates and such, headed for the buffet. There was not any chicken on it. A voice from behind us at the counter said to hold on for a moment, they were putting fresh chicken out for us.
Needles to say, we, ate like Kings. And, for the first time in ages, since I was a kid, I finally thought that I had gotten the KFC experience of my youth. Instead of the mess that YUM passes off as your typical KFC.
I always get the extra crispy chicken, and I have to give this particular KFC unit a hearty thumbs up. Our food was hot, moist and tasty. It was not dried out like your typical KFC experience is of today.
I guess we hit this place at just the right time.
I know, that in the future, this will never be repeated. But, for an hour or so, the KFC of today was as special as it was, to me, in my long ago youth.
Good, hot food. Some chickens here harmed in the making of my lunch.

Not the best service and the buffet looked as if it had been sitting out a while. Also had chicken bones in my BBQ sandwich.
