Continued from my other review on Carpetland on Electric. THECARPETINSTALLBYTRAVISANDTEAM I go back to work the next day and Travis and his team show up at the house to lay the carpet. My room is 15w x 17L. The carpet that we ordered(which I salesperson failed to mention) was only 12w. We found this out because after the install was done and I got home, I noticed a seam immediately when I walked in because it was 1 foot from the foyer and started at the window and ran nearly the length of the floor. But because Carpetland messed up on the measurements all around, we had 3 seams in our carpet. It was the most ridiculous thing I had seen since Obama was elected the second time. I could not believe it. I immediately called PK and told him about this… he said he was sorry and I needed to come in and pick out a different piece. Which I did and they(ate) the upcharge on the square footage. In addition to all this, when Travis and team showed up they immediately start moving furniture without asking my wife where she would like to have it sat. They put the couch in the kitchen and they went to put it back in the living room, my wife noticed the kitchen floor vinyl was ripped. Admittedly, my kids could have done it but the couch should have been placed on sliders or they could have placed outside because it was not raining anymore. Either way, they were responsible. Travis realized that and tried to make a deal with my wife. He said he could not afford to pay the $ 800 it would take to replace the floor so he asked if he could replace the carpet on our steps(only because we had entertained that early on, how he knew that I have no idea) but if we bought the carpet he would buy the padding and install for free. I couldn’t believe he was bartering. Then Jeff comes over the next day to repair the vinyl and it was a joke, he barely used any glue… it came up almost immediately. I told Carpetland to never let Jeff step foot on my property again. THEWAIT We had to wait about a week for the new carpet and the new trim to come in. All the quarter round needed replacing, well, 80% because Jeff did not cut it right. We had cracked quarter round(qr for future reference) and we had qw that was cut with no returns on the end and we had qw that had 3 or 4 brad nails in less than an 8th of an of space and almost none of the 90s on the qw met. There were gaps big enough for me to put 6 – 7 business cards in. It was really bad. THELISTOFTHINGS *Dust everywhere, including all over and in my 65″ TV hanging on the wall and all over the pics and mirror in the dining room and living room. All over the ceilings and walls and anywhere that had a surface and as I mentioned earlier, upstairs as well. *Quarter round extremely messed up and ruined *Flooring that was damaged by Jeff(didn’t mention earlier) and had to be replaced *Grease spot on my steps because Jeff walked upstairs in my house to use restroom because the door was off the one in the hallway(which is fine if he had on shoe protectors) *Kitchen floor torn *Carpet had 3 seams *Thresholds were still not down *EVERYTHING needed to be cleaned *Trane unit had dust in it *Old carpet left outside of house over 2 nights when Jeff should have removed *Mis-measured estmates *Jeff measuring the carpet that is now being replaced so he can give it to a family member because he «repaired» kitchen floor and Travis«owed» it to him to do that. *Travis bartering with my wife and I about the rip in the kitchen floor. *Jeff using a mitre saw in my house on the brand new floor that he just installed the day before. *Jeff leaves tools behind at my house on the kitchen counters *Jeff never cleaned up after he used the mitre saw *Jeff butted together a 3 foot piece of threshold and said most homeowners do that. Yea right, nobody does that on that small of a piece, he just messed up his cutting. *Jeff cussing around my kids and smoking and throwing cigarette butts in the yard. *Sawdust all over my garage from when Jeff used it on day one. *I am sure I am missing something THERESULTS Carpetland reacted swiftly after they found out just how bad things were. Blaine, the store manager and Tom, the VP for Carpetland and Tim, the head carpenter came out to my house and became very concerned. I requested(short of demanding) that a professional cleaning service come in and clean the house and a professional carpet shampoo was to be performed on the carpet upstairs, including stairs, and Woods Heating and Air(the guys that I bought and had install the Trane) come in and clean coils and furnace and check ducts and repair the kitchen floor and replace the quarter round and thresholds. We had to wait a few days but it got done. In fact, the carpet shampooers are coming tomorrow. THECONCLUSION Never ever again will I spend my hard earned money at Carpetland again.
