Leighty’s Chik-N-Ribs

The food: My chicken was crisp, juicy and flavorful. My coleslaw was crunchy and sweet and my macaroni salad was tasty. My ribs were meaty and tender, but I’m not sure if it was the sauce or some other reason why I don’t feel compelled to order them again. The biscuit was
Back story: I spent a week working in Roaring Spring. Everyone I asked for food recommendations told me I had to travel to Altoona, PA to get a decent meal. I already spent 5 weeks this year working and eating my way through Altoona so I was set on trying all the «local» restaurants… especially because I had no idea when or if I’d even return to this small town.
I stopped in, talked to the owners, talked to another customer, ordered, paid and was on my way in less than 10 minutes. The owner says food is delivered fresh daily and they cook and prepare everything until it’s gone each day. The other customer raved about their soup. I love supporting local businesses and I recommend this restaurant for people in the area or just passing through.
