Rena is fabulous. She made me very comfortable and she has an amazing personality ! The studio is really clean, and smells amazing. The prices here are super reasonable and Rena’s waxing services went above and beyond my expectations.

This was my first visit to Katie for brazilian, but not my first waxing. Outstanding service, aseptic technique, and very thorough job. I have been to 4 other places over the years. I will NEVER go to a regular hair salon for services again. I wish I would’ve come here for my very first treatment/​experience waxing. I will certainly be back on a consistent schedule. Online booking very convenient. If you are considering a wax or changing salons this is definitely the place to be. Katie and Rayna work together and the fact that I can see either one is extremely flexible.

Absolutely fabulous! Rena was so professional and calmed my nerves instantly! The experience was great and she was so kind. Would definitely recommend that you check them out and will definitely be returning! Plus, who doesn’t love online booking!

First time I got a wax was recently with Rayna. She was awesome, super professional, and made it not so awkward. Obviously hurt a bit. Second time was today with Katie and I was out the door in less than 20 minutes with hardly any pain. They are great!

If I could give Katie more than 5 stars I would! Not only is she extremely professional, but her technique is out of this world! I am not going to lie, I am very uncomfortable and have high anxiety when visiting my «lady» doctor but Katie was so comforting and I never could have imagined being so relaxed. This was my first Brazilian and definitely not my last!

I never write reviews of places I go to for any services, but after coming across the previous review, I felt I HAD to post something to tell how great Katie is!
I’ve been seeing Katie for 6 months now religiously for all of my waxing needs. She is always prompt and accommodating! My schedule is always changing and she is always willing to change my appointment times to fit my needs. I have NEVER ONCE had to wait after arriving at her office. I am walked back to the waxing room as soon as I arrive, which is what I love most about coming here.
I attended a different salon for my brazilians prior to finding Bare Philosophy, and I’m so glad I switched. Katie’s methods for waxing are better and more comfortable than anywhere I’ve been to (and less expensive!!!)

UNPROFESSIONAL. I just moved to Auburn Hills and was looking for a new place to get my regular chin waxes. Due to some construction and 5:00 traffic I was exactly 6 minutes late to my appointment. (I would have been even less late if the door wasn’t locked and I had to look around and knock to see if anyone was even there.) When I arrived, the woman told me I was late and she would not have time for me for over an hour. SIX MINUTES late for a quick chin wax and I was turned away.
So, if you ever in your life do not run exactly on time, DO NOT patronize this woman.

Great place to get your waxing done, the hours are great, she is open late and even open on Saturdays which I like very much. She is quick and the prices are not bad. I’m really happy that I found this place plus it’s really close to home.

I first visited Katie in September of 14. I recently moved back to the area and needed a new place for waxing. What attracted me to Bare Philosophy was the online booking and coupon on Unilocal.She was quick and thorough with my Brazilian. I also got my lip and brows done. The next day after my appointment I received a personal email from Katie. I told her how I felt my eyebrows were too thin and she apologized and encouraged me to come back again. I went back today for those same services and was very pleased! The only thing that is comparable to my previous esthetician is the education and information she provided for me. I didn’t look at a mirror unto I got home. I have some in grown hairs and my old esthetician would point those types of things out to me during my appointment and would usually try to take care of them then or tell me what I should do to get rid of them. All of that said, I would still recommend Katie for your waving needs.

Katie is amazing! I had my first brazilian wax with her and she made me feel so comfortable. She also did my eyebrows and makeup. I couldn’t be happier with the way my brows turned out! And my makeup looked phenomenal. Katie is very detailed, accommodating and friendly. Plus it is so easy to make an appointment, book it right on your phone! I am so happy that I found someone who does such a great job!!!

When it comes to waxing, you need to go here and to Katie. It was the best experience I’ve ever had. I’m pretty uptight and usually end up feeling very uncomfortable. Not here. The results are awesome and the experience was great (minus the inherent discomfort).
She is 100% a professional. I am a total spaz. I uncontrollably react to pain and fear, but even so, Katie dealt with it and didn’t make me feel uncomfortable.
She is thorough as the day is long. She has great music playing to distract from the fact that your waxing your lady bits. All in all she’s awesome.
Update ¹¹⁄₂₃: I’ve been going to Katie for 3 or 4 months now, and she continues to impress me. She is always pleasant, has great hours that work for a busy professional, and the results remain excellent.

My mother and I went here a few days before my wedding to get our brows done. Katie did a wonderful job. We were both very happy with the results. She was meticulous and she even fills in with pencil before you leave. I would highly recommend, especially because this isn’t much more then getting your eyebrows done at a nail salon where they may or may not do a nice job.

I went for eyelash extensions mainly out of curiosity. Katie is absolutely wonderful and informed me about everything involved with the extensions. Very professional and knowledgeable. It was so relaxing and zen I believe I nodded out. The extensions are so amazing I’ve already been back for a refill. I will keep this on my must have list! They look amazing!

Being nervous about a Brazilian is normal but Katie will make you feel so comfortable! She’s very professional and meticulous. She goes above and beyond to make the experience pain free and pleasant.

Katie tailors her service to your acne product use and skin sensitivity and offers valuable feedback about post-​care treatment. The online booking site is fast and easy! My brows have never looked better!

I went to Katie for waxing, and she was great! The space was very relaxing and cozy, and Katie was professional, thorough, and quick. She even offers a discount to students, which is great because the new space is less than 5 minutes from Oakland University. Their online booking site is also great – I was able to book a same-​day appointment right from my cell phone.

Katie was the best! Very knowledgable and friendly. She made a Brazilian a comfortable situation and the pain was minimal. I’ve gone to other places in the past and her attention to detail is unmatched. I will go back to her, and it’s a plus that she’s so close to home!
