Trader Joe’s

I have been a loyal Trader Joe’s customer for a while now, but I usually shop at the Bloomfield Hills one (and I try to avoid the RO one, since it’s so teeny tiny). Today I was in the Rochester area so I decided to check this one out.
It’s a little bigger than the RO location but smaller than the Bloomfield one. I was looking to buy some ginger, among other things, to use in a recipe tonight, and I couldn’t find it so one of the nice employees directed me to it. They were sampling their chocolate truffles today too, which are awesome, so I helped myself to one of those. I bought a bunch of frozen foods too (their chicken shu mai + turkey burgers are delicious) as well as a baguette and some tomatoes, for my homemade bruschetta, and some mushrooms to cook with tonight.
All in all, it’s a good location and one I’d return to when in the Rochester area.

What a great place to go if you just want to do some relaxing and friendly laid back grocery shopping for some unique products. I have been going to this Trader Joes side I moved here a few years ago and it’s always a delight. I remember the first time I set foot into this location, I told the cashier I was new to the place and she explained everything to me and made sure that I understood the company and what kind of cool deals they have and she made me feel so welcome. I don’t feel like I need to look wealthy or hipster to shop here. Today just blew me away and I knew it was time for a review. I seriously forgot I was in the big city shopping here today and I didn’t want to leave. The lady in the back by the free coffee helped me pick out k cups and was so nice to my little boy too. It’s so nice to go grocery shopping and the kids have fun too! Then, the cashier heard my toddler talking about the jelly beans at the checkout. He asked my little guy if he likes jelly beans and he nodded. I explained that he watches these YouTube videos where they open surprise eggs and some have jelly beans in them so he’s fascinated. The cashier actually gave my son a giant box of the jelly beans on him! Wow. My son has been down in the dumps with a cold and that made him smile so big. I love this place.

I appreciate the Trader Joe’s chain and the variety that it provides. This particular store is my favorite in the area. Employees are unfailingly nice and helpful. One cashier even put plastic bags over my open brown bags because she saw that it was raining and didn’t want my food to get soaked. The store is larger than the one in Royal Oak and parking is easier. It’s a pleasure to shop here.

Their non cured bacon «ends& pieces» for $ 5.00 is the best I’ve had ! More meat than fat by far.

Come for the pantry staples, but if you’re on the lookout for produce, be very careful as to what you pick up. Some of it can be pretty deceiving, and before you know it, 2 days out, and you realize the broccoli you picked up has begun to yellow, or there’s mold on other veggies.
That being said, Trader Joe’s as a whole is an awesome organization. Great values, wholesome individuals who run the store, and the business model is genius. This RH store specifically has some of the coolest and approachable people that I’ve met at various locations.
What’s worth getting here? Cheese, nuts and seeds, bananas, seasonal gifts and treats, ethnic frozen eats, chocolates, wine. Everything else can be hit or miss.
I’ll continue to be a loyal TJ shopper, and suggest that if you happen to be in the area, this location is a great stop! Next to this one, my other favorite location is the one on Telegraph and Maple in Bloomfield Township.

I love this trader joes. Great products, friendly people, and clean environment. Their produce is not as good as the rest, but very doable.

Great store for less processed foods, a bunch of organic stuff, and fresh meat!
I love the store, service is excellent. They always have trial samples and free coffee.
They bag your purchases in plastic or paper however you prefer. Also, they engage in conversation and are super friendly. I never had an attitude from any of the workers, which is a wonderful thing. I guess Trader Joe’s treats their employees really well because they’re always smiling and being courteous to your needs.
I wouldn’t shop anywhere else!

Healthy store for a good price. My husband loves their inexpensive wine selection here too. Don’t be afraid to try their unusual stuff here because almost always — they are good! We just tried their frozen chicken pizza and it was delish! My son loves the frozen Mango bars — alternative for ice cream. It’s the best! Staff are very friendly and helpful too.

I love all the unique foods you can buy here. Certain health foods you can find cheaper here then at whole foods. Plus the staff is always friendly and helpful.

I LOVE this TD location. I’m here almost weekly to either grab some soup for lunch or do grocery shopping. The staff is so friendly and very helpful. The produce is always in great shape and the cheese section is right when you walk in because, let’s face it, it’s the best section! I also love their return policy so I can try new things without fear of buyer’s remorse if I don’t like it (corporate policy, but still nice!). It is a very clean store, as well.

Love this store — Everyone is so helpful and engaged with the customers. I stuffer from food allergies and when I was first learning what I can eat and cannot the team members of the store practically walked me around and made many suggestions of foods they enjoy that I could have. We do most of our shopping here and will return because of the loyalty they showed us.

Always have a shopping list ready before going into Trader Joe’s stores because you will always find new and interesting items and may leave without picking up products you came for in the first place. My favourites … their house brand Coconut Oil and of course Cookie Butter. Well, too many to name … This location is clean, quaint and merchandise is well stocked. Staff are friendly, helpful and check out lines are fast. PS. $ 3 bottle of Charles Shaw wine is of very good quality, too.

Excellent store. They have good deals on healthy food and a large variety. They have not sold out on their promise to keep GMOs out of their food supply. They also have 2 dollar wine sales (2 buck chuck) !!! So cool.

My second trip to a Trader Joe’s whilst visiting Mum. I love introducing her to «foreign» foods. Her word, not mine. I bought shrimp gyoza for dinner. She can’t pronounce it, but she loved it none the less. Same goes for Tikka Marsala.
I may get my mum to pass on pork chops and skip shepherd pie once she becomes a regular here. I’ll let her keep the salmon, although Trader Joe’s does have a really good frozen salmon microwave entrée.

We do most of our shopping here. Beautiful, inexpensive flowers. The staff are very friendly and happy to help. Interesting food selection and great prices.

Easily the most affordable organic grocery store around. Whole foods may have a larger selection but you definitely pay a pretty penny There. Even Busch’s can’t compete with trader joes prices.
Enough about prices! Trader joe has a great selection of breads, healthy snacks and much more. They have a huge wine selection to choose from, and do a really great job with their produce section as well. They used to have a larger selections of peanut, and almond butter spreads however, their stock seems to always be changing and the spreads really took a hit. There are pros to their stock always changing, it let’s customers try new things.
I recently started using their body soaps and they’re amazing! Scent free, they don’t dry you out and you don’t have that reside left over from other soaps like dove etc. I really like this store a lot their always very friendly and really cater to the customers needs.

I don’t live near one, so I don’t go often and when I do I could peruse the aisles forever~
I just like some of the different varieties of things they have…
It’s a great place to pick up fun appetizers and prepared foods for gatherings.
I don’t think I’d shop at TJ’s on a regular basis, but it’s fun to go into a couple of times a year to pick up those fun frozen treats to whip out when company shows up, or when the last thing on your mind is cooking something.
Great wine selections too!

Love Trader Joe’s. I shop here once a week for the majority of my groceries. I love that they have a no GMO guarantee on their branded products. The prices are great. The service is reason enough to shop here. I love all the employees and their commitment to creating a great community store for us all.
Some of my favorite products: organic milk, local eggs, prepackaged nuts, frozen appetizers, the wine prices, and even the vitamins.
Any Trader Joe’s is good but the Rochester Hills location is great because of the people.

This is my favorite Trader Joe’s in the area. I think the employees here are super nice and helpful. I enjoy the selection of items at Trader Joe’s. While I can’t do all of my shopping here, I can do a big chunk of it. I also enjoy their various seasonal products.

I cannot begin to say enough good things about TJ’s. I do 99.99 999% of my grocery shopping here. The selection and staff are amazing.
I come from Macomb County where there is nary a Trader Joe’s to be found. I grew up on Kroger and have shopped there for most of my life. I had no idea what I was missing. My girlfriend turned me on to TJ’s when I moved in with her (Awwwwww isn’t that cute?) Praise the lord she knew what was up.
The selection at TJ’s is borderline incredible for being the size it is. They stock a plethora of fresh produce and meats. Beyond the organic produce they have some of the coolest stuff. Sweet potato tortilla chips? Yes please. Mango sorbet? Yep, in my garbage disposable of a mouth. My girlfriend has a specialty diet and we can pick up most everything to keep her in tip top shape here. The beer here is also pretty stellar. I was a bit leery of the Trader Joe’s brand beers. This is, until I saw it was made by Unibroue. We have a few bottles aging in our cellar. Good stuff.
The best part though? The price. I always try to keep a running total in my head while shopping so I know what to expect at the register and I am consistently higher that my total. I’m no rocket surgeon but I tend to believe I can handle basic addition. Maybe I’m wrong or maybe Trader Joe’s is just effin’ great!
P. S. fresh mozzarella cheese sticks can only be described as transcendent.
