I needed a laptop for graduate school and wanted someone who knew about laptops, not a Best Buy/Target associate who is reading off the manufacturer’s specs. Bill was incredibly helpful, he asked me what I needed my laptop for and recommended 2 refurbished laptops. I was there for about an hour talking laptops, the pros and cons, me asking dumb newbie questions, him answering patiently and knowledgably. I was sold. Bought a laptop for less than $ 350 and I love it. Need a computer fixed? Alltech is THE place to go to. Call them before hand to let them know what you’re looking for and they’ll let you know if they can help you. They don’t waste your time and are so knowledgeable on computers its great. (Don’t let the location dissuade you. Yes it looks smallish and not glitzy. Who cares? They know their laptops. They’re not brand new laptops, they’re refurbished, but they work great because those guys KNOW how to fix a laptop.) Thanks ALLTECH!

When the only computer repair guy I’ve ever trusted since — yes: BEFOREY2K! — moved from California to the other end of the U.S., what did I do? Got his new number, of course! I don’t know about you, but when I find someone I can trust with ALL my computer-related issues, and he doesn’t try and screw me with his fees, I STICKWITHWHATWORKS! David has been my go-to guy for over 10 years now. Through those years, he’s helped me pick out all my laptops and computers and handle all fixes or complicated installs. I even called on him for corporate networking and desktop support when I was an HR Director and Recruiter for multiple companies. When it comes to computers, and even small electronics like DVD players, David does it all: * Fixes hardware * Builds new computers * Installs and maintains networks large and small * Installs and troubleshoots software and hardware * Cleans viruses(even over the phone!) * Desktop support for troubleshooting any computer issue, even remotely * Answers all questions, no matter how *lame* you think it sounds :) * Repairs heat-damaged mother boards in laptops * Repairs DVD players Not many places can re-solder heat damaged motherboards, or replace a burned out graphics chip on a laptop’s motherboard, but David and his partner Billy can! Especially during this struggling economy, these guys have gotten frustrated by seeing how quickly cheaply made electronics break. So they are both hell bent on fighting for every dollar us consumers spend, by helping to FIX instead of REPLACE. Brilliant, right? So even though David isn’t within driving distance from me anymore, I still call him when I have a computer issue. With the magic of remote access, it’s like he’s sitting beside me! And I won’t hesitate to ship him hardware for repair — because I do care that much about my data. If you’re out of the area and have an issue — give them a call! If you’re lucky enough to live in the vicinity of Rochester, NH, thank your lucky stars that you’ve got David and Billy locally to trust with your computer, laptop, or small electronics!
