3.5−4 rating come here often because of living close by! As others have said, it’s a good location to chat with friends or work on your computer. I personally prefer a quieter atmosphere when writing, but hey, to each his own. They have a few small round tables, comfy couches and some window bar seating. The baristas are nice and friendly. Coffee is okay but nothing amazing. I do appreciate that they have a good selection of food whereas some other coffee shops do not. They regularly have open mic nights and comedy shows which are always great to come to when you want to get out on a week night. They also have happy hour for alcoholic coffee drinks… The ones I tried were much too sweet for my taste though.

Boulders has some pretty good coffee and other drinks, the service is always good and never bad! The inside atmosphere is great and very cosy. Although the bakery treats are not the best the coffee is pretty good.

I have never had a poor experience at any of the Boulder Coffee Co. locations, and the Park Ave shop is no exception. All of their coffees are brewed to perfection, and created exactly how I requested them. Their food is great, too! I’ll continue to visit the Park Ave Boulder for years to come.

The worst customer service I have seen in a long time. The girl working behind the counter was down right rude. The food was ok. Not a place I will return to!

A nice place to sit down and have coffee with someone. They have good smoothies, and a variety of baked goods and some breakfast sandwiches. It has a lot of local artists work hanging up, and it has a good ambience.

Boulder is my go-to for a coffee place. I like going to work on writing. The coffee is a decent price(not the price of a sandwich practically, as it is as Joe Hipster Bean) and I get the white mocha flavoring everytime. Probably would make my dentist frown as it is sugary, but it’s a nice treat. IDK maybe drip coffee isn’t fancy enough for most people but it was what I was born drinking(not actually) and what I will die drinking, I have no need for fancy amazing stuff. I think the atmosphere is really nice, and there is always space at a table for me to sit and write, even if there’s comedy or singing going on. If you’re looking for something to do, I would recommend thursday over wednesday… I believe wednesday is all comics? Maybe I’m just too used to my normal thursdays, but I found it to be a lot more enjoyable overall. BtW if it matters to you, I like their music. It’s not exactly«pop» but it’s not the ye-olde-retro stuff playing at Joe Beans, or the endless elevator music loop that has been playing since the holidays in tim hortons. In case you were wondering I once went to Joe Beans because of the Park Ave Fest and I really just wish I went to Boulder. Not that they’re bad! But different strokes for different folks, and so forth…

Cute, artsy, coffee shop. Serves alcohol and food too. I was early for a dinner down the street so ordered an iced coffee with irish cream flavor shot and sat on a couch to relax. Small patio seating available

3.5 Went to an awesome stand-up comedy night here. It’s cool that they lend their stage to local events like comics and live music. I like the Alexander St. location better. This one is smaller and busier. BUT this place does have some good counter-sitting(for creeping on passersby, obvi). Parking is kind of a pain here because Park Ave. is busy Staff is friendly and helpful. Boulder’s have shoddy internet, that’s just their nature

As the city gives way to slightly edgier places like Pour and Joe Bean, Boulder is left as a stronghold with some of the last comfy-cozy couches in Rochester. Unlike many of its competitors, Boulder’s atmosphere is a little warmer and more vibrant, featuring bagel sammies instead of croissants and standard drip coffee over hand-brewed. Boulder is great for groups, dates, and or spending a blissful afternoon solo. The local artwork on the walls and vintage-y vibe always provide me with pleasant distractions when I try to work there, and the Sweet Caroline bagel sandwich feeds my soul with its delicious locally sourced bacon and eggs. When your afternoon caffeine fix wears off, Boulder can also help you make the transition to alcohol with happy hour: 5−7pm on weekdays this summer. I must say, they have a pretty excellent selection of daily beer and wine specials, not to mention a full bar. It’s also a great way to escape crowded nearby bars if you’re looking for something low-key to do before dinner. Boulder is a good hang-out spot! Bring on the comfy-cozy.

My favorite place to study, grab coffee, or just come to relax., the service is always excellent, great place to meet up with friends and sit outside to enjoy the weather. Right in the heart of Park Ave, close walk to everything. Such a great variety of drinks of all different types, certain to be something for everyone. They also have an extensive food menu and of those that I have tried, they are all above average as well.

My husband and I were in Rochester to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We stayed at the Edward Harris House, so went out for an evening walk on Park Ave. Boulder Coffee Co looked like an interesting stop before turning in for the night. The trendy coffee bar was inviting … with mismatched furniture and filled with art that caught the eye. My husband had a beer, and I had the«Chocoholic». The coffee was strong & distinctive, laced with chocolate and Godiva Chocolate liqueur, topped with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. The coffee was so good, I made my husband take me back the next night. Can definitely see this as a new tradition when we visit Rochester. The only drawback is that we don’t have one in Buffalo!

Boulder Coffee has a bunch of locations, but the one on Park Ave. is probably my favorite. It’s not as «stand out”-ish as the one on Alexander St., but that’s what makes it so perfect! It’s nestled in between all of the really tasty restaurants in the area and is perfect in the evening after a nice dinner out with friends or on a date. It’s certainly a lot smaller than the other Boulder Coffee’s, but that makes it all the more intimate. I’ve also had awesome luck with the people at front — they’re great to start a chat with and are usually way friendly. Several times during the winter, they were just the warmth I needed when it was snowing hard outside. Prices are fine, food is fine, drinks are good, but usually filled generously, so be sure to be careful walking to where you’re sitting!

It’s not a bad local coffee chain. Decent coffees and pastries. Good place t hang out, until they close. Better than Starbucks, but not overwhelmingly so.

3.5 stars for me. I love both Boulder locations for doing work and reading. It is busy enough for some background noise, but not slammed where I am distracted by other patrons. The music is lovely, and the art installments. I like their coffee more than most places in Rochester, especially the sumatra. They make pretty good breakfast sandwiches as well. If you order a bagel, you just grab it wrapped in saran wrap and if you want to toast it they have a servez-vous station with a toaster, creamer, sugar etc. I have been here probably 6 – 7 times in the last month, and every time I get a coffee to go, you drip-almost without fail due to the lids. Bring your own travel mug, or get it in a mug for there if you don’t want to dribble coffee on your shirt.

Coffee cocktails :) They do a nice Irish Coffee here, and don’t skimp on the booze ;) I do like some of their beans/blends here(def better then Starbucks, in my opinion, but not as good as Joe Bean!)…although I am not a fan of flavored coffee, so I can’t speak for those. Good sandwiches, salads, and baked goods too!

I think I know why they serve coffee here… this spot is so boring you may need a lot more than caffeine to sustain you! The staff was… well let’s say uninterested in the patrons, and at times you felt like you were interrupting them so that you could make a purchase. Wow… and you like this place«former» Duchess Mel? Lol… It’s a bit small and the raised flooring in the seating areas is a bit weird since the place is already the size if a small diner… yeah let’s add some stages. Ha ha… I had the smoothie it was okay. Well actually I am trying to choke down the last of it now… nah it’s about to be flushed.

Last summer, I would go to Boulder every morning to grab a $ 1 coffee with my discount mug and get some studying done. They typically brew different flavors each day so there is always something new to try. While there are several comfy couches and armchairs inside, there are quite a few tables outside to use on a nice day. I’m not big into much beyond the typical cup of coffee or cappuccino, but I did try one of Boulder’s Irish coffees once which was pretty good. I would avoid ordering their hot tea. I’ve ordered their wraps and sandwiches on occasion. Besides being a bit oily and the lack of a healthier side besides potato chips, they were all great. I no longer live walking distance from the Park Ave. Boulder, but I frequently revisit to get some work done or chat up with a friend.

I have to give some more love to Boulder. Where other coffee shops have failed, Boulder continuously has provided me great coffee, good lunch food and a cozy spot to sit and work as long as I so desire. What’s more — they have loads of outlets! You can pretty much sit anywhere in this place and charge your phone/laptop/iPad, what have you. I find it to be the most irritating thing to walk into a coffee shop and creepily bent over at every open spot searching for an outlet to no avail. Not at Boulder. Outlets galore! I will forever consider this my first option when I need to get out of the house and call it my work-away-from-home office. I’ve been greeted kindly and served quickly, which hasn’t always been the case so I’m happy to see things improving. I’m also pretty into the music selection — good stuff I’ve listened to, new artists I want to start listening to, and not all that distracting. Cheers to you, Boulder. I’m glad I can rely on you.

Solid coffee shop on Park Ave. Very intimate and very hipster. Times I go? To sit and work on my computer(seems many people go for this) with a hot beverage in hand or for a good quality chat with a friend. Note I said ‘a’ friend. If there are more than two of you, it might be best to head to the South Wedge location where there is more seating and open space. Recommended beverage: dirty chai(cold or hot) — not on the menu but their chai and espresso mix well together Recommended food item: Savory Susan B. bagel sandwich(turkey, cream cheese, greens, cranberries) Staff is friendly and in my experience speedy.

Do you know why they call it Boulder? Because you can feel the tectonic plates shift as you wait for your order. When I moved away from Rochester, Boulder had only two locations, the building on Alexander and the space in the Public Market. Since I have moved back, Boulder has expanded to five locations, including this one on Park. This location is closer to my apartment than Java’s, so I figured why not give it a try? Quite honestly, the staff at this location have to be the SLOWEST and most disorganized in town, Boulder or otherwise. On a slow business Sunday, these guys took ten minutes to take the orders of three patrons. They took so long to make my Clinton Ave Cuban, they forgot that I was the one who ordered it. The placed wasn’t packed and there were literally a half dozen customers in the place. The two guys running the show seemed to be under some sort of hipster lo-fi chillwave hangover spell. When the original Boulder location opened, I thought they raised the bar in comparison to Java’s. Impeccable service, beers, mixed drinks, it was a like a dream. Three or four years went by where I didn’t even set foot in Java’s, because Boulder was it for me, without question. Now I am not so sure. Perhaps the other locations are still superb, but I am truly disappointed with the Park Ave location. Maybe they just have some growing pains? I just want some grounds and paninis.
