We ordered from Chickenhead not too long ago because my husband loves chicken. This little place caught his eye, and he wanted to try it out. The first thing to note, is that there is a real lack of parking. Chickenhead is located in a former residential home. There is a driveway with space for two cars. Street parking might be a little tricky, since Norton is busy. Not the best situation. When I commented on how long it took to get the food, my husband recounted to me that the owner was preparing everything right there, and obviously it needed some time to cook. We ordered their special with chicken strips and sides. I wasn’t keen on the chicken strips to be honest. They were a little spicy. Tasted a lot to me like Old Bay Seasoning. Now, don’t get my wrong, I like Old Bay. But mostly on fish. The sides were good. I particularly enjoyed the mac-and-cheese. Creamy, thick. I’d definitely go there again just to order mac-and-cheese. Mmmm. Maybe I need to get that for lunch tomorrow after church which is just down the street. Thinking back to the owner… he was really pleasant. Seemed like a hard working, community loving kind of guy. I hope that this place succeeds. And also I like the #urbanart mural/painting on the wall. It’s fun and colorful! It’s definitely worth checking Chickenhead out if you’re in the neighborhood. I think I’d come back — most especially for that cheesy macaroni goodness. It’s soul food… can’t compete with that!
