We were here for a 5 day work conference. I have to say the staff was by far the shining jewel of the hotel, everyone was extremely nice and very helpful. One of the perks was the car service they offered in a 2 mile radius. As honors members we enjoyed the convenience of the executive level and the food wasn’t bad. The hotel was quiet and they had plenty of pillows, towels and such. A good place to stay in Rochester especially when it’s cold because of the skyway bridges, very convenient.

Nice hotel. Stayed here one night before my interview at Mayo Clinic. When I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice lady at the check in desk who promptly handed me a warm chocolate chip cookie. Apparently all guests get one when they check in, which is incredible. I ate it while I was bringing my luggage up to my room. It was soft and warm and delicious. I almost wonder if I can go back down and ask for seconds… My room has two queen sized beds, a TV, microwave, safe, fridge, and ironing board — basically all the amenities you need from a hotel room. There’s also a fitness center in the basement and covered walkways/sky bridges to the mall and restaurants across the street. Very nicely located close to Mayo Clinic. My only complaint is I wish that more hotels around the area offered complimentary shuttle service to/from the airport, but I’m just being picky after being spoiled at ALOFT Minneapolis, where the free shuttle would take you anywhere you wanted to go within 5 miles of the hotel, and pick you up from there as well.

This is an excellent business class hotel. The staff are friendly, rooms are clean and well-maintained, and the hotel is quiet. It connects to the Rochester skyway so nasty weather is not a problem. I recommend it to anyone doing business in Rochester or visiting the Mayo Clinic. The only reason for four stars rather than five stars in my review is that this is not a luxury class hotel

Nice location downtown. Attached parking structure. Connected to the skyway. Close to the civic center and Mayo Clinic. We spent one night. 7th floor room, street side. Our room had two full size beds, which seemed small, but comfortable. The room is quiet with some street noise. Amenities include flat screen TV with several HBO channels, safe, microwave, refrigerator, iron, and in room coffee. Decent fitness center, sauna, whirlpool and pool in the basement. We attended an event in the meeting rooms on the second floor and it was decent, nice space, good meal. Would definitely stay here again.

We needed a place that had valet parking and was within walking distance of Mayo Clinic, and that made this hotel the right one. Easy walk to the clinic, which takes you past my favorite breakfast place, Pannekoeken. Just across the street from a great little urban shopping center and Michael’s restaurant, and just a short walk to a great comedy club. You can use the street to walk to the clinic,(just past Starbucks), or walk using the climate controlled walkways.

There are no five star hotels in Rochester, no Ritz Carlton, no Four Seasons, no Park Hyatts, etc. There doesn’t need to be. The Doubletree is an excellent hotel, and additionally, the staff is top of the line, actually better than at some of the more exclusive properties. I am relatively demanding and have high expectations regarding customer service, and hotel accomodations. When a hotel is dated, I’d like them to have kept up to date with changing times, etc. The Doubletree has done that. The rooms are well lit, comfortably appointed, TV’s are newer, internet is fine… Pescara, the restaurant, is excellent — no need to leave the property for dinner. I would only stay at the Doubletree when in Rochester.

Beautiful hotel near the Mayo Clinic in a great area for stuff to do — have a nice dinner, grab a quick drink or get a liver transplant, whatever you want, all within a short walk. The executive suites are stunning and far better than what I’d expect from a Doubletree. Even with a slightly-too-warm fitness center and no sign of a maintenance guy a half hour after my SOS call to fix the A/C, this hotel is still a solid five stars.

Nice hotel, right in the middle of Rochester. I stayed at this hotel about 13 years ago, and it has been spiffed up quite a bit since then. The rooms were nice. The beds were comfy. The pillows were aplenty and fluffy. The rooms stayed warm, even though it was a February in Minnesota. The staff were very friendly. My main complaints would be the inconsistencies on the website. I checked the website for parking and room info. I couldn’t find any information about parking so I assumed it was free. No. It’s $ 13/day. Not a bad price, but that needs to be clearly outlined on the website. Also, the rooms had a fridge and microwave, which were not detailed on the website either. Not a big deal, but it’s annoying when a website is not accurate.

I stayed here while doing culture change facilitation for a new client. Hotel was recently refurbished. Rooms are well appointed, beds comfortable. Room service was prompt and food was fine. Staff were generally service minded — pretty good compared to the industry in the USA. Room had in-wall AC/heater which drives me nutz — very noisy through the night(by design — it’s a «feature»). Good but not great. I will be back to Rochester and will try the Marriott(my favorite hotels).
