This place is great! Some friends and I were there a couple of weeks ago for a drink and a bit of lunch. We met several nice locals and enjoyed our food. We were on bicycles and the very nice bartender (whose name I do not recall) directed us to some local treasures and a great bike trail. (She even drew maps for us on bar napkins! I love her!) We will definitely make this a requisite stop on our next visit to Rochester!

Love this place! My husband said it was the best bar food in the area, and he was right! So many wonderful things — mile high fish sandwich, mac and cheese, burgers, and you have to try Norm’s Kick Ass Chili!!! The owners always chat with customers and people are very friendly in this small town. There is a backroom for customers under 21. It’s a small intimate bar with big flavor! They also have Mama Selita’s Jalapeño Ketchup (Red Gold, Inc product) — which is one of the most addicting additives you can ever taste.

The dug out is a great «hole-​in-​the-​wall» bar that any cub or white sox fan can come in grab a good sandwich and enjoy a beer. The owners are always around socializing and making sure everyone is enjoying their time. they take the time to get to know you and really care about you. not just your business.
