Sure, it’s a cheap American Chinese takeout joint. But really, it’s SO much more than that. I mostly keep coming back here for nostalgia reasons, but you really cannot beat the price, and the staff is so great. I can’t for the life of me remember the owner’s name, but she is so funny and amazing! The food’s not bad, but I really only ever get the curry chicken and the fried rice. Both taste like what they’re supposed to taste like from a cheap, Chinese American takeout joint. If nothing else, just add soy sauce. If you are looking for a cheap, $ 5 lunch, go here! Also, sodas are super cheap. Last I checked, they were still $ 0.50 for a can of Coke, but… it has been a while. Did I mention this place is cheap??? Tip: The family typically takes a vacation sometime in July, and they close down the shop for a week. If you’re unlucky enough like me to keep craving Hunan in July during the ONEWEEK they’re closed… just be warned.

Just ate there for lunch(eaten there 3 – 5 times in the past). I choose a lunch special to take away and sit down to wait. I hear a crash in the kitchen and stand up to check to see if its my food. Cook bends over, picks up the veggies he just dropped and puts them back on the plate. He looks up and sees me watching him then sheepishly goes over to the cold bucket and grabs new ingredients and cooks them. I GUARANTEE he was gonna use the floor veggies on my order until he saw me watching him. He still never threw those veggies away… they sat next to the wok waiting for the next customer. Now I’m not naïve. I know I have eaten hundreds of things that were mishandled over the years. But, this so silly over a nickel’s worth of frozen veg that I had to post.
