Instant State Inspections

My sister just got her 2005 Ford Focus inspected here after which she was told her front brake pads were almost gone and needed to be replaced. The brake pads and rotors had just been replaced last year and I just checked them myself and they look almost new. I know my stuff when it comes to cars as I’ve been turning my own wrenches for quite a few years and it’s sad that places like this will try to take advantage of people. Very disappointed. Won’t be going here again.

I’ve been using them for NYS inpections for years, great with that. The people I have dealt with there have never given me reason to doubt them. Had them do brakes and check rear wheel bearings recently. Wasn’t the usual gal up front, some ex-​union guy from companies past and one mechanic were the only 2 people there. He took me home ((strange), picked me up when it was done. Charged a lot (kept adding crap that would have been obvious upon first inspection via phone, more than one call), said bearings were fine. One week later, rear bearing making noise. It was bone dry. both sides were dry. A month later, front bearing goes. The usual people I deal with there have always been great. Not this time and there will not be a next, at least not for repairs. I used to do this for a living, don’t like doing it myself anymore (obviously) and I know when I’m getting screwed for more work.

i was there for a motorcycle inspection. friendly, no BS. moved to new facility across the street.
