Cute place. Good coffee. Fun looking people. :) Not much to complain or rave about, though it’s nice that it is connected from the inside to Flour City Bread next door — we visited in winter and it was a little rainy out so this was a nice benefit. I’d return here for coffee!

This place is pretty cool. They have a good location right next to the Public Market along the entire row of other coffee shops, haha. They are also connected to a pretty cool bake shop that serves up breakfast sandwiches and fresh loaves of bread. Service: There was a small line, but it moves quickly. Our barista was nice and took our orders with a smile. There’s a handful of baristas behind the bar(oh yeah, at night time, this place turns into a bar) and each one takes your drink order, creates your drink, and rings you up at the register. Coffee: My bf and I ordered a couple of iced lattes(I got one shot of espresso, my bf got two). They were delicious and refreshing especially for a nice hot day in Rochester! They also have some nice patio furniture outside to enjoy the sunshine.

I am giving java at the market three stars because the drinks where delicious and the staff was very nice and considerate they shared their honest opinions about the drinks and they were super quick. But they only except cash and the ATM is always broke. The set up of the restaurant is very cramped and crowded. But the coffee was delicious and the service was impeccable!

Last time I was here I was devastated to find that Flour City Bread(next door) was closed for the holidays! What a tragedy. Since my wife and I were already here, we stopped at Java’s for some coffee. The woman behind the counter was quick, had favorite drink suggestions as soon as we asked, and made it a good experience. The coffee was good. It’s located in the warehouses along the edge of Public Market, so ambiance is pretty industrial. Not warm and cozy, but nothing wrong with that as long as the coffee stays good, and they keep the place warm on cold winter days. They do not accept credit/debit cards. Cash only.
