Best seafood around hands down. Look past that its location is in Rochester, and you’re in for a treat.

Thought the food was average for the price. Did not like my fish cut into small pieces for fish and chips. Would love to have sides that aren’t all fried. I paid $ 13. for what I considered a small portion.

Stopped in for dinner after seeing Unilocal’s 4 star rating. I was surprised because I did not realize that it was supposed to be understood that everything was fried. I read a sign that said: Specials Lobster Tail Dinner — I was asked if I would like French fries or onion rings(I knew they would be fried) but I didn’t expect my lobster tail dinner to be cut up pieces of lobster battered and fried — disappointed because I drove almost 50 minutes out of my way and I paid almost $ 30 for water — onion rings and fried pieces of lobster– I would not have ordered it if I knew it was fried. Staff was very friendly on the upside.

I’m not a smoker so my sense of taste and smell are sensitive. I’ve complaint about fish not being fresh before but the last time I stopped there, the fish was fine. Like that the restaurant is quaint and service is fast and down to earth people seem to work there. A place where anyone can feel welcomed.

Found this gem on Unilocal.Oh boy, what a place. Located next to an actual book store«be still my book geek heart». The food was incredible. Started with the seafood chowder, not a potato in sight; every last morsel was this tender mix of fish. Incredible. Onto the Lobster Roll, because it was simply done on a toasted hot dog roll, the sweetness of the lobster really come through. The other thing worth noting is how clean the oil is kept. You can definitely taste the difference when you try the fries. This isn’t close to me, but I’ll be back.

Don’t drive by this place or don’t even think about going to any tourist trap in New Hampshire if you want the BEST seafood or clam chowder in New England. I’ve lived here my entire life and this is one of the best New England has to offer in fried seafood, clam chowder and LOBSTAH rolls.

Thanks so much Becky for the AMAZING food! We LOVED it! Our five moving men raved that it was the BESTFOODEVER, best anyone has ever provided for them: Seafood platters with fries and onion rings! So great to back where seafood is king!

My mother came up to visit and wanted to get my boys dinner. They picked seafood so we ordered take-out from Jimmy Jones Locker. The first thing I want to say is the batter they use is excellent, light and crispy and they fry with very clean oil! It is a rather small but clean restaurant and our food was waiting for us when we arrived. The employees were very pleasant and polite. Credit cards are accepted and senior discount is offered. The haddock was fresh and cooked perfectly. The shrimp dinner my son got was«great!“The only comment I heard from my mother was that she thought the haddock chowder was a little salty for her, I didn’t try a chowder so I can’t comment on that but I will add that she ate the entire serving of chowder that she got, so I don’t think it was too salty to eat! Tarter sauce is very tasty and Cole slaw is crunchy and flavorful. We will definitely be back and will recommend to anyone looking for seafood in the area.

Been going to Jimmy Jones since I was a wee lad, and make a point of going every time I return home. Can’t go wrong with the fish and chips, and while prices have gone up a bit over the years, that’s to be expected for good fish. Portions are generous, you won’t need the larger sizes unless you’re awfully hungry and aren’t afraid of fried food guilt. Décor isn’t fancy and it doesn’t need to be. If you’re jonesing(couldn’t resist) for good fish, drop on by.

My wife is from the area, but we live in Chicago now, and you really learn to appreciate good seafood when you live in a landlocked area of the country. That is why we love this place… Great seafood! We come back to NH a couple of times a year to visit family, and make it a point to eat here each and every time we are home. There is nothing on the menu that isn’t cooked to perfection, and extremely fresh. If your not in the mood for fried food, they also have good chowder and lobster rolls as well! Definitely worth going to!

Bullet point review: –Small place, six tables with four chairs each –TV on ABC family; thankfully playing a good movie(Toy Story 2) –Christmas decorations about, adequately placed –Pictures of boats and old photos on the back wall –Business cards on both sides of the wall entering –Onion rings not very hot nor crunchy –Gave a plate of onion rings without anything to put ketchup on to dip –Main meal of haddock and French fries were acceptable –Price of fish reasonable

This is one of the few seafood places in rochester and they do a fine job making fried seafood. The seafood platter was great everything was fried perfectly and crispy. The scallops were my fav

Hubs was craving a fried seafood basket, so I suggested Jimmy Jones to him. This was his first time, and he was hooked on the food right away. He had the large seafood platter with o-rings and a fresh squeezed lemonade. Haddock, clams, shrimp and scallops, all fresh with tasty batter and fried perfectly in clean oil. Same with the fresh made rings. He can’t wait to go back to try more, especially funnel cakes. The restaurant is bright and clean, but décor is dated. Lots of family mementos and photos. Would go great with a beer, but no liquor license. Fresh iced tea and lemonade. Don’t worry about that, just order the seafood! Closes at 8 pm.

My boyfriend recently got a job up in Rochester, and after taking me up to see the area we decided to stop into Jimmy Jones Locker for dinner. It’s your typical small restaurant, with a few tables and décor appropriate to the sea/ocean theme. My boyfriend ordered the clam chowder, and I ordered the haddock plate with sweet potato fries & coleslaw. The clam chowder was warm, but not too hot to eat, and the flavor was creamy and well balanced without being overly fishy. The haddock was soft & flaky, came apart easily with a fork, and was delicious with or without tarter sauce(I’m notorious for needing condiments on my food — especially fish). The fries were sweet but not too sweet and again, great with or without ketchup. The coleslaw was sweet, crisp, and a great compliment. I will definitely be coming back!

Fried clams at their best. If you like fried fish, fries and slaw, this is a great choice. Concrete floor and a few tables. No bar. Order at the counter. Eat in or take out. In the summer, there are picnic tables outside. This is not a high class restaurant, just a great fried clam shack.

Family owned and operated seafood shack. If you like fried food(or the occasional guilty pleasure), and who doesn’t, you’ll enjoy Jimmy’s fresh fried seafood. Dessert? Fried ice cream or fried cheesecake of course.
