I lived in one of Johns apartments in Corn Hill for two years and never had a problem! I received my security deposit back after tenancy ran out. I loved the apartment, and the location! Off street parking was a plus. I never had any problems dealing with John and I would rent from him again.

This man is the most despicable person and landlord I have ever encountered. We moved my daughter in to one of his properties and had to move her out the next day. The building was a fire trap, a safety nightmare, and had issues with flooding and heating(or lack thereof) All the tenants came to us individually with the same stories of his lying, broken promises to fix glaring issues(live wires that had fallen on the house) and threatening behavior toward anyone who dated complain. He kept my daughters money and didn’t answer my calls or texts or emails until I mentioned the evidence I had gathered on him. He lied to me about having a Certificate of occupancy on his building, installing a new door and having just put on a new roof. He is the definition of slumlord and is notorious with city officials, including the building inspectors and city code enforcement. I am taking him to small claims court and plan to expose him publicly so others don’t get tricked in to renting from this devil in disguise. I am looking Into the legalities of starting a Facebook page entitled«Rochester’s most infamous slumlord, John Trickey». Do not rent from this man !!!

As of 5÷15÷2015 we finally received the payment in full for our security deposit. Mr. Trickey even included a small gift inside for the inconvenience. My roommates and I appreciated the gesture. Hopefully we were a one-time situation.

One word – SLUMLORD. In my nearly 50 years I have had 20 addresses and thus many landlords, but John Trickey DBA John Thomas Property Management is my first bonafide slumlord. Within 2 weeks of moving in I was contacting him with safety issues, everything from no lighting in the parking area to not receiving a front door key to not clearing and plowing snow during the worst winter in Rochester’s history(this was a multi-unit building). Now, even though another tenant legally took over my lease on June 1, 2014 I am still waiting for the return of my security deposit more than 3 months later, even after reporting him to the Better Business Bureau. RUN, do not walk, away if you EVER see the name John Trickey or John Thomas Property Management attached to a lease agreement in or near Rochester(or anywhere for that matter). What a complete and utter nightmare. Thank god I’m no longer a renter. This man is a criminal.
