First thing on a Sunday morning, a diet breaking treat. Very fresh, great selection, Boston Cream and Cinnamon Rolls are my go to. Fresh hot coffee or hot chocolate … No frozen drinks Parking is not a problem earlier in the mornings, gets much busier as the day goes. Ladies behind the counter are quick and move the product ! Counter seating and a once or twice read newspaper available for those who don’t carry out. Minus one star for their cash only policy … I would love to buy for meetings at the office, or the crew in the shop, but getting reimbursement for a cash receipt takes forever.

Tried this place to see what all the hype was about due to it constantly being compared to donut bar in Southfield. Totally different donuts and totally different environments. Donuts were good but nothing special that I can’t get at a drive through. nice staff. Included donut holes in my purchase for the kids.

They try to keep the«Hole-in-the Wall» theme going on, but don’t be fooled. Knapp’s Donut Shop is a gem. The owner’s are as sweet as the donuts. Coffee is very good. I appreciate that they open early.

Only went in here for a few minutes during the Rochester Christmas parade this year, but someone in our party bought a box, and later tried out one of the donuts — it tasted fresh and incredibly delicious. I am hoping to try out the Troy location sometime soon too. Great downtown location as well.

Donuts are ah-maze-ing. Service is friendly. We wanted to filled with buttercreme. There was only one in the case. She took a plain one into the back and filled it with buttercreme for us. The place was incredibly busy. Donuts are HUGE, and prices are reasonable.

OMG this place is amazingggg! It doesn’t look very updated inside but one bite of a doughnut and you will be sold! They are soft and delicious just like a doughnut should! Tim hortons and all the other chain places don’t compare. D-LISH!!!

Honestly the best donuts I’ve had in Michigan. They recently started taking credit cards via cell phone. But, bring cash, or expect to pay $ 5 minimum. Great place, great staff.

I was truly expecting an AMAZINGDOUGHNUT Experience after driving by for 2 years & seeing the lines/crowds However at 2pm on a Sunday… not a large selection left. Ordered a cream cheese stuffed pastry &2 doughnut holes The chocolate doughnut hole was large & yummy. .but not the freshest The cream cheese pastry. well once I got it home… it was more air than cream cheese, so I added jam to it to make it work. I really want to go back & hope this was a one time. thing?

Make sure to get your paczki on March 4th! Freshly made every year, I always look forward to this day. There’s lines out the door for them and the people of Rochester know that they’re well worth the wait.

Stale. My friend and I were enjoying the Rochester Light show and had it marked in to visit Knapp’s after seeing the reviews. The selection was minimal and the donuts were stale, very standard feel and taste. Where are these reviews coming from?

YUM! I love their peanut covered donut. It’s the best in the metro-Detroit area. They do sell-out, though, but I think you can call in larger orders.

Whoever said money can’t buy happiness has never purchased an apple fritter from Knapp’s.

I definitely appreciate an excellent donut and Knapp’s delivers; in fact, I can’t get them off my mind. They have an awesome variety of flavors but even cooler, of textures. Thus far I’ve taken down the double chocolate, chocolate honey dip, maple glazed, maple cake, and my favorite sour cream. Double chocolate has a nice crispy outside and dense middle, chocolate honey dip is softer on the outside but with a crunch from the ground nuts on top, maple glazed is soft on the outside and dense in the middle, maple cake is light and fluffy, and sour cream is almost crusty on the outside and a very dense, almost coffee cake like crumb texture in the middle. Each one incredible in its own way. In my young life full of many encounters with fried dough, I can proudly say that the perfect donut it Knapp’s Sour Cream. Set your alarm to get there before 5, get a fresh sour cream, feel love that only the ultimate donut can provide, and repeat.

Nice selection and location, convieniently located on main street a block from our hotel so the first stop the next morning was here. They open at 3.30 am, I was tempted to stay up till then just to get first dibs, we made it there at 9 and they had about half the selection left. Prices are descent and the donuts are good, not the best I’ve had but worth stopping in if you are in the area with a donut craving. Stick with the donuts, they are great, the cinnamon sticks and fritters not so much.

After the first stop at Knapp’s in Rochester, I knew this was the real deal. I got a lemon filled donut. The custard was divine! I would eat one right now. I also got a sour cream donut that was top notch, crisp on the outside and the crumb on the inside was excellent. Don’t take these sour cream donuts for granted. After being on the West Coast and even visiting Chicago, sour cream donuts are not available. They seem to even struggle with the concept. I pity them! Those are the only donuts I’ve tried so far but I can’t wait to have more. I LOVEDONUTS and Knapp’s are great!

This is my favorite Knapp’s Donut shops of all their locations. I first ate here in 2002. It’s family-owned and it always feels like«home.» It’s the place where«everybody knows your name.» I like meeting my friends here for coffee talk as often as I can. The view of downtown Rochester is like no other from Knapp’s wonderful picture window. In my opinion, the perfect donut is fresh, hot, glazed and chocolate. I’ve been to many bakeries and this is THE place that makes THE perfect donut. The second best donut shop would be Knapp’s in Troy. I like their sofa and living room setup. Free wifi is great. I gotta go. Meet me at Knapp’s? See you there!

BESTDONUTSEVER. No seriously. So many kinds, and everyone seems as if it is made with love. Crispy outside, moist inside, delicious toppings. So delicious. Great prices as well. Forget chain places. If you’re in the area, you MUST get Knapps!

Knapp’s looks like a donut shop from a 70s cop-chase movie. They’re a small donut bakery(just opened a second location!) with amazing skills. I’ve tried all their donuts, and every single one is fantastic. If I had to suggest a few of them, I’d say try the apple fritter, the cinnamon swirl, and any of the jelly-filled. They have a small bar set-up facing the bakery and another facing the windows. It’s amazingly comfortable. I ended up here on weekends just to grab coffee and a donut so I could go over the paper(yes, young people read the paper sometimes). There seems to be a group of older regulars that are always looking for opportunities to chat. They definitely have interesting stories — not that I can explicitly remember any of them, but the fragments add to fond memories of this place. Basically, the patrons at Knapp’s make it a great place to spend a lazy afternoon.
