This place is a total JOKE!!! I waited over 2 hours for a large pizza on a Sunday night. I called 3 xs they kept saying *with an attitude* that he pizza was on the way. until I called back a 4th time and cancelled. The sad part is i live 4 minutes away from the place. They are known for being late and unprofessional, so disrespectful. I will NEVER order from Menezes again.

Checked into the hotel and didn’t feel like going out, these guys deliver. Remember the pizza from school lunch? This is it, glop. The bottom wasn’t browned and probably could have used a few more minutes in the oven. I asked nicely for paper plates and napkins since we didn’t have that stuff at the hotel, however when the driver arrived he said that they were out of paper plates and napkins. A pizza joint that serves Buffalo wings and no napkins, really?

Way ridiculous. I did not care for my experience with this place. The entire thing was lame. It wasn’t gross or infuriatingly bad or anything extreme… just lame. Service and food were both lame. We ordered a pizza for delivery to our«motel» while passing through Rochester. Since it was late and we didn’t feel like going far from the freeway, I looked up pizza joints in the area on Unilocal. My, oh my, did the Unilocal reviews not match up to my expectations. This is place is straight up not good. Maybe it was an off night… maybe…I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and you can go ahead and take my bad review with a large grain of salt… but here are some tidbits of what went down… I called this place up on the phone and requested a delivery. The guy on the phone sounded to me to be a bit lackadaisical. That’s fine… you’re not totally enthused to be working in a pizza delivery job… fine. A lot of people would fall into that boat. As he took my order, disappointment and worry started to set in… I requested what is generally me and the hubby’s standard pizza order when we’re tired and/or not sure what kind of pizza a place does best… a large pizza with half pepperoni and half mushroom and garlic on the other side. Apparently, this was all out of the ordinary for Menezes… or at least to the dude taking the order. He was all confused. First off, he was all like, «you want us to put garlic on the pizza?!?» You’d think I’d just asked them to put Korean kimchee and a braised short rib on the pizza. WTF. I’m not a pizza expert and I have not eaten at every place pizza place in the world but in my life I’ve never encountered a place where you can order pizzas that did not have garlic available in some form. I don’t think garlic as a pizza topping or flavor is really that unusual. It’s on most topping’s lists… even the big chains offer it. And garlic is most certainly not foreign to Italian-derived flavors and dishes. After the guy got over my «strange» garlic request, he asked me to explain what I meant by my request for half toppings on each side… I explained it and he seemed unsure if that was possible or that he understood clearly. Okay, maybe, I’m a b***h for asking but it seems pretty common place to ask for one side to have one topping and the other to have something different. I’d understand if they were trying to do some super heady, artistic frou frou type pizzas here. Please! If they stock garlic(fresh or jarred), the guy could have at least politely said«We don’t have any garlic.» So, whatever, maybe the dude is new to his job AND new to pizza. Next issue left me flabbergasted… when I asked what sort of sodas they had available for delivery, the guy says«Oh, you want us to bring drinks too??» Really!!! Is that an unusual request on my part??? I’m pretty sure that the Domino’s & Pizza Huts of the world offer some sort of meal combo thing where you can get a pizza AND a bottle of Coca Cola delivered to you. How friggin’ crazy of me! To think that a place offering«delivery» service would be willing to deliver beverages to accompany my meal! So damn crazy on my part. WTF. Seriously. My reply, «Um, yeah… I thought since you deliver food, you’d deliver drinks to go with the food.» As I waited for our order, I envisioned that we’d get a pizza with only pepperoni on it and we’d need to grab our beverages from the vending machine. The wait time was fine. When our order arrived, we got a 1 liter of Coca Cola(not sure if they really offer beverages or if they stopped at a liquor store and bought it), a pizza that did not appear to have any garlic on it and mushrooms on about 1⁄3 of the pizza. The wings we had ordered were basically spilled and loose in the plastic bag since, apparently, no one had made any effort to secure the lids on the containers they were meant to contained them. And the delivery guy apparently didn’t notice the buffalo sauce dripping out of the plastic bag as he walked over to our room. So service was not fantastic. Maybe its too harsh to say it was bad, but at the very least it seems mildly unprofessional in my opinion. To not be up on fairly common practices/requests in food service, pizza take-out & delivery services seems like not good business sense. To not know how to deliver & pack your food properly for transport seems ridiculous. The food wasn’t much better. The pizza crust basically uneven — lopsided with one side thicker than the other. The thick side was on the border of looking like a pan pizza. The temperature was fairly lousy — not hot and more on the warm side. The taste was below average — similar to school cafeteria pizza. The only upside was it wasn’t greasy! The skin on the chicken was rubbery. We couldn’t tell the difference between the Rochester or Buffalo wings since they all got jumbled together. Prices were fair but maybe considering the poor service & food quality, not the best value. Not worth the bother!

Good pizza, and open late! I ordered take out at around 11:30 when most other places were not open. I got the steak sub, which seems to win a lot of praise on Unilocal. It was good, with a sweet, bbq style sauce. The steak was overdone and hard. It satisfied my fix, and considering the slim pickins in Rochester late night, I might go back. However, the next day, my wife and I really didn’t feel like finishing the left overs, so I can’t give it much praise.

Just ordered their steak pizza for delivery, based on favorable reviews from Unilocal,Google, Urbanspoon, etc. It arrived about 15 min later than they said it would, no big deal. The driver was very pleasant and the pizza was hot and in good shape when I opened the box. Now, I’m not a terribly picky eater, and I enjoy challenging my palate, but this pizza wasn’t my thing. Crust is tougher and chewier than I prefer, too much cheese, and the meat(greasy, wet and sloppy), was Philly cheese steak style, not the larger, steak-ier cuts I was expecting, and would have enjoyed more. The pie also had a strange sweet flavor I found odd and not so tasty. Might try them again, but I’m more likely to expand my horizons the next time.

Great Pizza This is the best local pizza in the area. It has a great flavor and good consistency in flavor and quality. We don’t eat pizza from anywhere else these days. For a unique flavor try the steak pizza. We’ve had all varieties of their pizzas and can’t complain about any of them. The wings are very good. If you live in the 19th Ward of Rochester, get your pizza from Menezes’ Note: at the time when I wrote the review the posted address is incorrect.
