I purchased a Hobie Mirage i9s inflatable kayak from this shop last year. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. I use their launch point almost every weekend in the summer. I highly recommend this shop to everyone!

One star for the nice workers at Oak Orchard in Webster. My issue with this place is that they’re extremely expensive. So expensive, you would be better off driving very long distances for a much better deal. Here’s a couple of examples of how high the prices are here. I bought three new wooden webbed seats for my canoe last year. They charged me $ 210. When I went whoa at the price, the owner told me it was an exotic wood and that’s why the price was so high. Two weeks later I’m at St Regis Canoe Outfitters in Saranac Lake, home of the honest. They sell the EXACT same seats for $ 29 each or $ 87 for three. Oak Orchard has a Current Designs roto molded or poly Kayak for $ 899. St Regis sells the SAME EXACT KAYAK for $ 599!!! That’s $ 300!!! Drive up there and get a room for the night and you’ll still save money. Oak Orchard sold me some sealant for my gunwales and deck that came in a baby food jar for like $ 15 after telling me it was some special stuff made for only that wood. The guy is a total liar. I found it online for less than half the price. Oak Orchard are dishonest people. I will never be scammed by this place again as long as I’m alive. As for the nice kids that work there, take what your boss says with a grain of salt. You don’t want to be that guy.
I have no grudges with Oak Orchard for reasons other than me getting ripped off on numerous occasions. I don’t know them. I’m telling you only my experiences and you can judge yours against mine. The owner or main guy in Webster is very pleasant, but he has lied to my straight to my face several time and for that, my business goes elsewhere.

No offense to the people that work at the Rochester store. They are nice and knowledgeable but the owners of OAK ORCHARD are EVIL! They lied to me and sold a used kayak as new. A friend of mine who does repair work noticed stuff I didn’t and told me that my boat had been repaired and was not new. The owners are also rude and cold. They don’t care about you just your MONEY. I would not recommend supporting Oak Orchard! Spend your money with someone who will be truthful and appreciate your business.

These guys a terrific. Smart, low key, experienced… Everything I wanted in a kayak outlet. My guy fitted me perfectly with a boat and paddle. Couldn’t be happier with my experience. And by the way you get all this and yet their prices are highly competitive.
