Great desserts. But whenever I get a coffee there it seems like it had been sitting in the pot a while and is only Luke warm. The people are friendly. But the service is slooooooooow. Not at the fault of the employees in front though. They seem to try and speed things up. I just don’t think there is a good system. If there are two people ahead of you prepare to wait ten minutes just to order your food. I go there only when my daughter is in dance class otherwise I wouldn’t make it a regular stop.

The large gelato selection and excellent cookies have kept me coming back. Now that I’ve moved away, I miss Oriens Café.

I’ve been here twice while visiting family. Great place! Macaroons were amazing and the gelato is far superior to the ones I’ve tried in the past. The establishment definitely needs a structure to have people get in line, had two people come on the other side of us and get orders placed first. Others than that great place to get a sweet treat!

Boyfriend and I frequent this café, so I believe a review is in order. We have yet to try the food because we usually come for the gelato. It’s amazing. I’ve never had gelato from Italy, so I’m not sure how it compares, or if it’s truly«authentic.» I’m not Italian, either, but I know for sure it tastes better than regular ice cream. So creamy and thick! The flavors are delicious and there’s a wide variety.

Great family owned restaurant. Haven’t gotten a chance to try their food yet but their dessert is amazing! Huge variety of Italian sweets and baked goods as well as gelato. If youre in the Greece area give it a try!

Orien’s offers a casual environment with a friendly staff and OUTSTANDING food. On a rare night out, my wife and I had very a pleasant conversation without interruption and without loud background noise. There is a wide variety of entrée choices, and our meals were served quickly and hot. Cookies, gelato, and cappuccino were fabulous. We will be back!

Five stars all the way. You wouldn’t expect this kind of food and service in a strip mall but here it is. I have been stopping in for lunch from time to time over the last few years but today I tried it all. Appitizer, meal, cookies, rum baba, gelato and espresso with the owner. This place is not just about great food but the staff makes it a great experience. I love it. I recomend the meatball sub with an extra side of their sauce and an order of greens and beans.

One of my must visit spots whenever I’m in town. These are traditional Sicilian recipes. The gelato is amazing, I usually go for the spumoni or dark chocolate. The pastries and cannoli are among the best in the Roc. They always have great soups and sandwiches for lunch. I have always found the owner and staff to be personable and helpful, so some of the other comments on service here surprise me. I am one happy Sicilian woman right now.

Great place on a weekday morning to get work done. Ample seating and wide selected of brewed coffees. Get their Jamaican-me crazy blend, great pick me up for the day!

Good environment; they have a variety of sweet foods and they serve coffee and beer as well. It is certainly a place that a lot of people could find something to enjoy. The staff were polite; apparently you should not call the gelato, ice cream or the owner will yell at you. Nevertheless, they do display their religious beliefs too much, they have a picture that is suppose to be depicting Jesus on the wall, out in the open.

Great gelato, with all kinds of flavors to choose from. This place is absolutely perfect for a nice summer night, with outdoor tables and a nice, relaxing atmosphere to it.

Super food and desserts but often be prepared for a wait. Recommend baba rum cake. They also have wonderful gelato. Would definitely recommend.

I came here only based on gelato reviews since that was what I was after— everyone, the gelato was/is amazing! I scarfed mine down in no time and ended up getting a pint to go. I tried a few flavors, and everyone of them were delicious. I definitely plan on coming back here in the future.

Phenomenal. Delicious, reasonably-priced food… paninis, gnocchi, etc. And the owner, Gianni, is the man. Awesome guy. It’s such a shame this restaurant isn’t located closer to my house. It’s definitely one of the hidden gems of Rochester– great food, reasonable prices, nice ambiance. EDIT: I’ve tried several of their cakes… all of them have been mediocre. Very sweet; they taste like they are produced in a factory(or in some large commercial kitchen and then sold to a bunch of restaurants). I haven’t tried the gelato, which I’ve heard is good(but apparently not good as the ice cream at Pittsford Dairy, just to give a benchmark). VERDICT: All of the sandwiches and pastas that I’ve tried have been delicious and are absolutely worth coming for. All of the deserts I have tried, however, are not worth the money.

Hidden in a strip mall is some smooth, tasty gelato! I had the Hazelnut/Chocolate mix that tastes very similar to Nutella but there are some crispy chocolate pieces in it that i think would be better left out. The salted carmael was creamy and rich — definetly a must try. My husband got the Pistachio which was also tasty. They have many pretty pastries, cheesecakes and italian cookes. We tried the chocolate chip cannoli which was creamy, flavorful with a crispy shell(I hate it when the shells are not crispy!). Staff was very friendly and patient with our requests for samples. Reasonable prices and decent portion sizes. They have a few small tables outside on a small patio which is nice in the summer. Highly recommend getting some Gelato!

I don’t tend to like Scottish guys named Angus… or-Ians for that matter. My dislike for them is why they named this place«Or-Ians» because they fully agree. Scotsmen are not welcome here, and if you are Scottish, then don’t even think about trying to order a wee gelato for yer lassie. It’s nay ginnie happen, lad. Aye. What to get: Tiramisu Gelato, Italian Cheesecake, and Cannoli What else: all the Gelato is fantastic And what else: do not wear a Kilt to this place. You’ll be sorry aye I brought Starlight here on a nice summer’s day, before she got sick from the older cats :(She’s slowly getting better, by the way. But back to the review. She waited outside like a good tiny little miniature jungle cat girl, while I went inside, sampled a bunch of flavours and picked out Tiramisu Gelato for us. We both absolutely adored it. Starlight hasn’t had Gelato before, but she licked this particular flavour so enthusiastically, that I’ll have to bring her back sometime soon. The employees were interested in Starlight but nobody petted her. She’s okay with that. She was too busy slurping Tiramisu. Then the second time I came here, I was with a girl. She ordered a ton of stuff… Choc Hazelnut and Salted Caramel Gelato, Cheesecake Gelato, Stracciatella and Lemon Gelato, all of the above were fantastic, especially the sinful tasting Cheesecake flavour. She also got a Cannoli(she’s in love with them) and an Italian Cheesecake. We sat inside(right inside the glass from where me and little Starlight had sat some weeks earlier), and shared all of these delicacies while we listened to the owner girl hiring new employees and conducting interviews, one after the other. Best… Italian… Cheesecake… *ever*. So sinful, so creamy, so delicious. I don’t even like sweet treats like this, but it was utterly wonderful. Could not have enjoyed it more. Cannoli was basically on the same level. Spectacular. If this were the Oreo’s Café then it really wouldn’t be Italian, would it? I dunno why I’ve never been a fan of Oreo. Maybe it was that song they did… Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore… Oreo Speedwagon. Meanwhile the older owner guy was serving us, and I have to say, his customer service skills are somewhere between a 2 and 3 out of ten. He’s not too friendly, he rushes you, and he gets his younger female employees on edge by moaning at them and barking at them in front of other customers. He needs to cut this out because it made us feel uncomfortable while ordering. He also contradicted a woman that was ordering and chided her for asking whether the gelato was fresh today, as if it was the stupiderestest question he ever heard. I don’t like repo men. They’re always pressuring you to pay them in cash… Or-liens. Other than that, this is clearly a five-star place. It has a cute bathroom, a nice interior, tons of lovely places to sit outside, the Cannoli is amazing, some of the best I’ve had outside NYC, the Italian Cheesecake is even better — it’s off-the-charts good — and the Gelato is nearly authentic and absolutely wonderful — you will love it. Service aside, I couldn’t ask for any more from this place whatsoever. I wonder if it would be as good if it were in Louisiana? I don’t know, but I’d like to find out. They should open a location on Bourbon St in New Oriens.

Let me preface this review by saying that this is strictly a review of customer service. I wish wholeheartedly that I could review the food. But not for a lack of trying, I have never been able to eat at Oriens. And here is why. For teachers in Greece, Oriens has always been the prime lunch destination during any professional development day. Us teachers can’t leave school most days of the school year, so this is our one chance to try the esteemed and fresh menu. However, this also makes it impossible to get through the line going out the door on these days. It seems that all teachers flock here around noon. Time after time, I have sadly had to make an alternate lunch choice when I drove up and saw the daunting line of chattering teachers out the door. Teachers talk a lot. You know they will be there quite awhile. And we are only given 30 minutes, after all. So, imagine my excitement when one of my traveling-teacher colleagues came in this morning raving about Orien’s breakfast sandwiches. «And it’s not busy at all now!» she exclaimed! Myself and another teacher only needed one cursory glance at each other before we grabbed our purses and headed for the sign-out sheet. Today, the one day of the year we can take a flexible lunch break, we can get to Oriens before the pick-a-little-talk-a-little brood arrives. And even better, for one of our favorite things; none other than the breakfast sandwich. «Freshly scrambled egg with crispy bacon and oozing cheese on a buttery croissant». Our colleague’s words rang in our ears as we anxiously drove up to Oriens. A lot of cars, but to our astonishment, no line!!! We walked in, and not only was there no line, but there was no single person dining at Oriens at this moment! We had the entire place to ourselves. We approached the counter around 11:14 am, our eyes frantically searching for a breakfast menu. Two friendly faces finally appeared and greeted us. «We heard you have the most incredible breakfast sandwiches!» we said almost unanimously. «Oh. Yes, but we are no longer serving breakfast.» My co-worker and I glanced around to the empty café. «Not even a breakfast sandwich»? I pleaded. «No, we stop serving breakfast at 11. How about some lunch?» «We specifically came here with our hearts set on breakfast sandwiches,» my co-worker added. «Sorry, no breakfast after 11!» Disappointment ensued. Hunger overwhelmed us. With our heads drooped and our taste buds frustrated, we politely declined the lunch, and defaulted to a commonly-known bagel chain down the road. Now, I understand that some high profile restaurants and chains have strict breakfast serving policies. I furthermore understand that if we had been asking for gourmet french toast, pancakes or eggs benedict, that these policies should be strictly adhered to, or that it would make a lot of extra work for someone to prepare when lunch is already what is cooking. But, we merely wanted a scrambled egg, with some bacon(available on some lunch sandwiches), and some cheese, melted onto a croissant. And since it seems there were no other customers to tend to… well, you get the point. Unfortunately I’m not sure if I’ll ever being trying any of the food at Oriens. If I do, I’ll be sure to post an updated review, that will hopefully share a very different tone.

Have been here numerous times for pieces of cakes and cookies, all of which have always been incredibly delicious! Orien’s offers a wide variety of treats. Staff has always been super-friendly. Sadly, I have never tried their gelato. After seeing some of these reviews, I’ll have to add it to my list. Today was the first time that I tried sandwiches from Orien’s. We split a prosciutto di parma and a french dip. The food was above-average taste-wise. Portions were small in comparison to the price. In the future, I will stick to their desserts only. They still get 4.5 stars for the deliciousness of their goodies!

(I am giving five stars based solely on the gelato. I have never had an actual meal here) Anytime I think about gelato I have to go get it. The gelato at Oriens is just phenomenal. Full of flavor and very rich. The establishment itself is very cute and casual and the gelato itself looks so pretty when it is sitting in the cooler. The flavors change based on the seasons, and at one point they had a cherry flavor that was out of this world, but I haven’t seen it resurface since. Everybody I know absolutely adores the Dark Chocolate flavor they make(I’ve been told it tastes like a frozen double chocolate brownie), however, I can’t stand chocolate ice cream so I always get the Stracciatella with a little Cookie Dough mixed in. It’s very creamy, rich, and delicious. It’s worth every penny and they fill up your dishes very well. If you are unsure of a flavor, you can ask for a tiny spoon of whatever it is and you can try it before buying the whole dish. Great experiences usually. Once or twice the wait was a little ridiculous but nothing to stop me from getting my gelato…

My wife and I went here for the first time for some dessert. The atmosphere is nice and very casual. The desserts looked fantastic but nothing is labeled or has any prices on it. I said that it was our first time here and the girl came around the counter and very delightfully explained what everything was. My wife had some mousse(hazelnut I think) and I had the Rum Baba. We also had some English Breakfast tea and French Vanilla coffee. The desserts were absolutely delicious. I don’t think I’ve ever tasted anything like Rum Baba. Sooo good ! The prices are pretty reasonable too. It was obvious that there were a lot of regular customers here which I think is wonderful. I’ll definitely have to go back on a warmer day and try the Gelato. It looks very tasty.
