Chicken French and shrimp scampi! Yum. Janet was very attentive and nice to talk to. Be sure to make reservations early, as in days ahead; they fill up. Unless you like to eat at 9 pm. Peanut butter cup pie was delish. I had coffee and it was wonderful.

Our server was fantastic! And the delicious cannolis.(The 2 stars) Other than that, our experience was less than ideal. Our arancini app took 30 minutes to arrive at our table. Our awesome server gave it to us on the house for the delay. But, the arancini was black on the bottom and the inside was pretty flavorless. My salad was fine. The chicken French had too much lemon zing for my taste. The cannolis tasted fresh and deliciously homemade!

Excellent food and service! Nice ambiance. Liked the cocktail beverage options. Bread served was decent. Loved the scallop entrée. My dessert choice was crème brûlée, also great. Definitely would come back.

Had the lobster bisque which was incredible one of the best I’ve had in the city. I also got the pork chop which was very good definitely a cool place worth checking out.

This is my husband and my most favorite Italian restaurant especially when we’re in the mood for a special outing. Every time I order the same thing — penne vodka. It is the BEST vodka sauce I’ve ever tasted! It is so good. It is pricey, but again its one of those places that you look forard to going a couple times a year. My husband normally orders the Fra Diavlo or Lobster Ravioli. We’re always impressed by the fantastic service and food — and the seating area has a nice feel — especially if you’re next to the windows overlooking the river.

Perfect place for real Italian food. Also the most romantic place for a date! And they accommodate food allergies(:

A wonderful meal and fantastic evening for my family of five. The food was outstanding and the whole staff made us feel as if we were part of the family. This was a birthday celebration for my daughter’s 15th birthday and they made her night extra special by adding a special birthday wish in her menu which was a extra special surprise! ! They also treated her to her own delicious dessert! It was wonderful! !!

Nice atmosphere and staff was friendly. I ordered the Chicken Marasala and it was ok, nothing worth going out of my way for. The bread was not all that great and the oil was terrible. I then remember a man saying how great the Fila was, so i asked the waitress i wanted to add that to my bill as the marasala just didnt hit the spot. She left the pasta and brought out a strip steak. The steak had no flavor and had more than normal amount of fat. The waitress was very polite and realized her mistake but as a person, we need to realize that everyone has bad days so i dont mind the steak mix up but the taste was just not there. The chicken marasala was tender and loaded with marasala sauce and mushrooms, im just used to another flavor! Oh, i was charged $ 30.00 for just the steak with no sides… That left an even worse flavor in my mouth…

Another solid meal at Pane Vino. Always a favorite despite the fact that I had not been here in a year or so. Usually this is a nice romantic place for dinner but this time I was here with a big group of 16 for a work dinner.(The brick walls do make it a bit loud especially with big groups present.) Our server did a great job of herding cats and keeping things moving which can be a challenge with any group. My veal saltimbocca was very tender and tasty, though a bit more veal would have been nice. I heard from those nearest to me that their meals were also very good. I had a taste of the vanilla chai crème brûlée and it was excellent. As usual this was a good reminder to not wait so long for a return visit.

I was skeptical about trying a new place for my birthday. But I loved everything about this restaurant. The location, valet parking, quality and taste of the food, live music– great sound and song choices, and the look and feel of pane vino is very romantic. I enjoyed my dinner and experience, the waitress was great. And I loved my veal Giuseppe. And I didn’t want pasta and I got the Brussel sprouts instead– great choice! Everyone’s dish was so yummy, no one was disappointed. The calamari appetizer was so delishhh! And since it was my birthday the staff added cute little surprises to make my day that much sweeter.

The service was excellent. The ambiance was superb. The food was positively delicious. Their appetizer calamari was the best we have ever had anywhere. I had the pan seared scallops with mashed potatoes; the scallops were perfectly prepared, the mashed potatoes were creamy and decadent, and the creamy mushroom-based sauce pulled the plate together with expert delicate hand. This past Saturday, we dined there with 10 other people, everyone ordering a wide array of dishes, and everyone was happy. We shared a few bottles of wine, and the servers were always at the ready to top off our glasses. Even the coffee was perfect. I asked the manager what brand they use, and he brought out a one-serving bag for me to take home, so I’d have the name and logo. They even have free valet parking. We will definitely return.

There were very high hopes for this dinner, but even my colleague, who said he used to dine here once a week, questioned ever returning again. When we walked in, it seemed promising — beautiful ambiance and modern. But after that it was a rapid downward spiral. The servers were off-puttingly casual and inattentive. When one of the servers told us the specials, she leaned on the back of one the guest’s chairs. Afterwards, someone commented that she didn’t seem to know what she was saying. That alone would not have been a deal breaker, but it turned out it was a sign of what was to come, ranging from dirty silverware to forgetting people’s orders. And then there was the food. Personally, I ordered the Portabella Veal Chop and Penne Vodka. The veal chop was overcooked — very very tough. After the first bite and thinking I needed to douse it in a gallon of salt to find flavor, I realized there was no sauce or Portabella. When I inquired, they took my plate away, and brought back the exact same piece of overcooked meat I had started to eat, doused in sugary sweet sauce with a pile of sliced up button mushrooms(???). In the meantime, I ate the Penne Vodka. When I tried the sauce, I thought there may be something halfway decent. However, the penne itself was not only overcooked, it was a very cheap pasta. Like the cafeteria variety. Apparently everyone else’s food was less-than-stellar as well. Since then my colleague has not been able to stop apologizing. He wanted to bring our out-of-town big city guest here, instead of the regular go-to in the suburbs, to show her that Rochester is a real city with good food. Fortunately for myself, this was not the first restaurant I tried in Rochester.

Table by the river was wonderful to watch the sun go down with excellent meals and drinks before us. Food was interesting, and the service was attentive but not pushy. Will be back. Specials were well thought out and added a different slant on the menu.

The house red, Cabernet Sauvignon was just amazing. Have you heard of JOSH? This is ‘must try’ for you when you go to Pane Vino. My personal favorites are their Cesar Salad that is NOT covered with fatty dressing. Love their light Cesar salad dressing with anchovies. MUSTHAVE clams! I often dream about their clam pasta… ITISTHEBESTINTOWN, TRUSTMEONTHIS. Enjoy the food And friendly people.

Wow, what can I say? I took my girlfriend here for our anniversary and we were so impressed. From the outside(and knowing the area) you really don’t expect much from the location but once you step inside you immediately feel like you’re in a 5-star restaurant. We had reservations and after checking in the host told us it would be about 10 minutes for them to set our table(we arrived early). We pulled up to the bar and ordered a couple drinks. I ordered a draft beer from a decent selection and my girlfriend ordered a Dirty Shirley(not a lot of bartenders know what this is but she knew immediately and made a top notch cocktail). We were seated about 10 minutes later, the host kindly took my girlfriend’s drink from her hand and led her/us to the table. We were in the very back of the inside of the restaurant and we felt secluded from the rest of the guests. Our waitress Erika greeted us with a smile and offered to list off the specials for the evening but we had already made up our minds. We put in our order for our appetizer(bocconcini) and put in the order for our meal(chicken french and blackened shrimp tortellini). After putting in our order Erika asked us for the reason for our evening out and we mentioned that it was our anniversary, I swear from here on out she made us her special guests(at least we felt that way) and she kept extra special care of us all night. My girlfriend and I were lost in conversation just noting the awesome aura of the restaurant and kind of gazing off the table and people watching when our bocconcini was delivered. The bocconcini is basically fried mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto. It’s absolutely amazing and a great starter for any Italian meal. The only downside of our meal was that this app wasn’t a large enough portion, I wish I had more. But if I did have more I probably wouldn’t have eaten most of my dinner. Once dinner was served we were ready for some cocktails. I ordered a Maker’s and ginger and it was spot on. I like my bourbon and prefer a bit of a stiff drink, and I got just was I was expecting. My girlfriend got another dirty shirley and it was again a well made cocktail. Erika brought us our meals and we were so ready to devour our entrees. My girlfriend loved her blackened shrimp. She isn’t much of a fan for super spicy mixtures but went out on a limb for this meal and was pleasantly surprised. The mix of spice and creamy pasta with shrimp was delightful. I tried a bite and I had to say the same. My dinner rivaled my favorite chicken french meal ever and honestly is all I raved about from that night on. It was fantastic. So lemony, the flavor just burst out of this meal. When our meal was done and we were ready for the check Erika asked if we were ready for dessert. After stuffing our faces for the last hour and a half we regretfully said«no» and expected our check. Erika was so delightful and caring that she brought out two cannolis with a lit candle on top and wished us a happy anniversary and thanked us for spending it at Pane Vino. This topped off out night!!! Such a thoughtful gesture from such a classy and great establishment. The service from Erika and the food at Pane Vino make this this place SHINE in a pretty dimly lit area of our city. I really suggest everyone check it out. We we definitely be back!!!

I have been three times– the 2nd time I went, roughly two years ago my girlfriend and I received horrendous service. Well my family and I made it out tonight. Our waitress was good, but other areas lacking. They were out of ½ of their beer selection, and have an awful wine list. I like good beer. Oh well. The place kinda reeks of desperation, but maybe that is because we were the only table. But the game ended was when they turned the music up realllllllly loud to try and get us to leave(30 minutes before closing time, during our dessert/coffee). Classy

Excellent date spot. It’s by the river — very classic exposed bricks look and the moment you step in there is a hostess who graciously seats you. They gave us a spot that I wasn’t too keen on and the server immediately moved us to a more cozier spot. The artichoke appetizer was WONDERFUL. They catered to my vegetarian dietary restrictions and they have a lovely wine selection that pairs well with their food. Delicious food and a place full of character and lovely ambience — would love to go there again :)

Great restaurant on the river in Rochester. Worth a visit. The wine list is above expectations and the food and service certainly exceed expectations as well Dinner consisted of several appetizers and entrees. The salads were crisp and fresh, and the beetroot salad with greens and the goat’s cheese was fantastic. I love beets so when I see them and they are this quality it is a must! The entrée was the pork chops accompanied by snap peas and a side of pasta. Way too much food… but all delicious. Way above expectations. Visit when in Rochester!

One of my very favorite spots in all of Rochester! Such an elegant and romantic place to come for dinner. I have celebrated many birthdays, and special occasions here and never once been unsatisfied. There is even this adorable corner table tucked away with curtains that is so romantic, our server decided to give us that table after realizing it was my birthday, loved it! Looking out onto the water is a plus, and the décor inside is beautiful. Very good staff — attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. Fantastic pesto sauce and the best chicken french in town! A bit more pricey than your average Italian restaurant… but they are not average ;) Valet parking is available and so convenient! Live music occasionally, and in the summer time if you’re there for a later night dinner, you can see the fireworks go off from the rhino stadium.
