I go to Paul’s once or twice a month and am never disappointed. The traditional diner/family restaurant atmosphere is great because everyone seems genuinely glad that you are there. I love their greek chicken wrap and greek salads. That dressing is so good. The people I go with really like the breakfast especially the coffee carafe for the table(it’s not my thing). Be warned — brunch can be slammed! Best show up before 11am on weekends.

Paul’s is without a doubt has the best coffee in Michigan. I could sit here all day and write the next great American novel while drinking the café au deliciousness that is in every cup. Which is amazing since they actually serve alcohol now and I’m sure Hemingway would prefer a something a more fermented. To each their own I say. Foodwise, I came for breakfast. I’ve been dieting, so being a foodie kind of sucks under that kind of stress. But Sunday is cheat day and I ordered a stack of pancakes. MMM. Anyone who has ever read my reviews knows how much I love pancakes and these were very good. Light, fluffy and filled my tummy on a beautifully foggy and slight erotic morning in Rochester. Yes, I said erotic. Had to spice up this review someone.

This restaurant appears to be in an identity crisis. Is it a diner? A Greek or Italian restaurant? A pub? It fails on all of these. When I asked our waiter on Friday night if there were any specials, he said, «We don’t have those.» Then I asked what was the best thing on the(very extensive) menu. He replied, «Nothing.» We witnessed the plates around us looked unappetizing and over heard the waitress at the next table apologizing three different times for things that happened at that table, so we left.

We use to go here a lot but the food is lacking and it’s a bummer… They use to have a great lamb shank… Eggs Benedict use to be good … I don’t know what happened maybe all the outside construction don’t know but we really don’t go there anymore

Used to love it, but the last time I went sausage was PINK in the middle. server was slow, eggs were almost raw. They brought me bacon instead it tasted like microwave bacon. It was horrible. Our server was not nice at all. No one was paying attention to us. It makes me really sad cause I was going there ALLTHETIME for breakfast. I loved it, please fix these things.

The food was okay but the service was horrible. Forgot a lot of stuff and took for ever to fill drinks. I won’t be coming back.

Worst diner ive been to in awhile. Dont waste your money here go across the street to coney island. I ordered cheese sticks, french onion soup and Reuben. The corned beef on the reuban was like rubber. The fries were cold. Almost tasted like they were microwaved and put on my plate. The cheese sticks were cold in the middle and not hot. Nasty as hell!

I really don’t know why this place gets good reviews. The food is not good at all. The service is mediocre. I’ve been here a few times before they renovated and said I wouldn’t go back. I thought I’d give it another chance after they redid the joint, but they did nothing to improve the food. My French toast was burnt in random places and extremely bland. My hash browns were bland and also randomly burnt. I ordered a grilled cheese on wheat bread for my kid but it came on white, and it was gross. How do you mess up French toast and a grilled cheese? My husband’s gyro was not good. By the time the waitress came back to check up on us, my husband was almost done eating so I just sent my food back. My kid didn’t eat his either. So we paid $ 23 for crappy food and then go eat again since I was still hungry. I definitely won’t be going back.

Paul’s is located right across from Lipumas Coney Island, on the edge of downtown Rochester. We stubbed across Paul’s one Sunday morning when the wait everywhere else was thirty minutes plus. Paul’s had a wait but nothing more than 5 minutes. The staff are always very friendly and more than willing to over accommodate your needs! The omelets are incredible and so are the skillets! The omelets come with hash browns on the side, whereas in the skillets the hash browns serve as a bed for the rest of the ingredients to lay on. Order a coffee and welcome an entire pot to your table, Paul’s once again over serves each customer but not in a negative fashion. The coffee is so good that you’re sure to finish the whole pot. I know it’s just coffee why am I ranting about it? It’s definitely not just coffee, drink this coffee and you’d wish there was a Paul’s coffee instead of a Starbucks coffee on your way to work! Paul’s is well worth the stop!

1st time here. was hoping for a great experience. Totally remodeled, with a nice outdoor area. Check in proved to be totally one taking names. People who came in 15 minutes after Us, Were seated first. Mentioned it to next person I saw and didn’t even get an apology. Shared a Paul’s special omelet, with half order of gravy — biscuits. Took 30 minutes for food to arrive, when it did server asked if the burnt hash browns were ok? Deciding I didn’t want to risk another 30 minute wait, just picked thru them. Rest of food was decent. First impressions may not bring me back.

The food is okay, nothing to special, nothing you haven’t had a family diner before. I had the spinach pie, the taste was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy were okay(I’m really picky) something just didn’t make me happy. I also he the French onion soup which was again just okay, the cheese had a strange consistency. The waitress I had was awesome, super friendly, the rest of the staff seemed to be just as nice. The one thing that did stand out to me that kind of upset me which is why I have them 3 stars is I could hear the microwave going off in the kitchen constantly. That to me is a big turn off in a restaurant, if I wanted microwaved food I could have stayed home and microwaved something at home, but that’s just me.

Service Service service the waitress was way to fast she brought out salad I took to bites then she brings out our flaming cheese. I said okay to myself trying not to make a seen. And lest then two minutes she brings out my entrée. Then I had tell her that I was still working on my salad and appetizer. So she took back the entrée and then 10 or 15 minutes later she brings back the entrée that was not worth waiting for.

This time I tried the Gyro plate and was it ever delicious. Lots and lots of meat on the sandwich, cooked to perfection. I have tried many things on their huge menu and have not been disappointed yet. Consistently great service and very inexpensive.

This is a small but really nice diner style restaurant. The owner, Paul seated us and was really nice, he asked us if we wanted drinks while we were waiting to be seated. This was a great place for brunch but try to get there early to beat the Sunday church group. We went around 10:30 am. I had Paul’s omelette, it was really tasty. There was plenty of food, I could have had a side option of hash browns or potatoes but I went for tomato slices and toast. Overall great hole in the wall restaurant, I would definitely recommend it.

Food was terrible, place was dirty. I will NEVER come back. When we paid our bill the server asked how everything was, we said terrible. NORESPONSE. We(all 3 of us) left over ½ of our meals on out plates. When our plates were cleared we stated it Wes bad, no apology. WOW. This all took place while the owner watched and did nothing.

Have been here several times — and while there is no single dish that will ‘knock your socks off’ there are plenty of good options to choose from. The staff has always been very friendly and attentive. Menu is reasonably priced too. Items we have enjoyed: — several soups /lemon rice is good — several good salads — gyros — shrimp appetizer — various fish dinners(battered fish, perch, cod,) have enjoyed them all — good breakfasts too Quite often they have daily specials too. Give them a try.

Paul’s on Main street has one of best breakfasts on Main Street. The service is really great and my water was constantly filled up. They have a very clean building and the bathrooms are clean as well. Every time I come here I look forward to their breakfasts. My omelette I order here is cooked very well and the toast is like any other toast. You can look forward to coming here in the morning and getting your moneys worth. I give the restaurant 3 stars because their dinner is not greatest. What is ordered is down below. The steak came with a side of peas and mashed potatoes. The peas were dry but the potatoes were mediocre. The soup was spot on and not too salty. However, the steak was extremely dry and had no taste at all. If you are looking forward on going to dinner here do not have high hopes.
Dinner I ordered: –New York Strip –peas –mashed potatoes –French onion soup

I only pass this place 4 – 6 times a week, and noticed the always packed lot. Plus a Unilocal pal, told me best biscuits & gravy ever! And another said BESTGREEKDRESSINGEVER! So Saturday thought we would try it out. Walked in & were greeted like old friends /family & we were promptly seated & served water. This sweet 17 year old energetic server Luzia, bounced onto the scene & offered us ideas/suggestions. We looked at the food being delivered here & there & were amazed at the portions & presentations. The corned beef platter called my name for only $ 9.50 It came with 6 – 8 large thin strips of corned beef ½ of a large boiled potato 1⁄3 of large boiled cabbage head ½ cup of tender boiled carrots + a crock of french onion soup A+ and I got 3 more meals out of it as leftovers at home The Bride ordered a turkey rueben deluxe, which included fries & the crock of french onion soup also an A+ & she took half home her only disappointment came with the large steak fries had a metallic taste. Between Luzia faithfully checking on us & the water /coffee guy stopping by on every lap we LOVED the service — homey atmosphere! Now to get back & try the Unilocalers suggestions!
