Hi, My colleague and I recently visited this place. Their best beef soup is awesome! My colleague complain is they only have one size PHO. Of course that is a over sized one, but if they could offer larger size PHO as other Vietnam restaurant that would be great! BTW, the fry calamari is a good choice which much better than others used cuted pieces Solid 4 star! Definitely back again!

Amazing, delicious and fresh food served with a smile and a friendly demeanor. I love this place! I have to admit, I eat here TOOOFTEN! The spicy beef soup is my favorite and the beef with broccoli is very tasty too. The phở is clean and flavorful. I prefer the summer rolls of Phở Viet over those of Sea(too much lettuce and their pork is terribly dry).

There is parking behind the building. As I entered the restaurant, there’s lots of space and tables. There’s art on the walls and a karaōke system. There’s instrumental oriental music playing in the background. I asked for hot tea and I as I poured the tea into my cup, the loose leaves fell into the cup, one of my biggest pet peeves! I ordered the bun bo hue, beef noodle soup. It’s very authentic and tastes homemade! There’s a spicy kick to it. They used the right vermicelli, round noodles. There was enough meats for the soup. I hate when restaurants don’t give you enough meat. The vegetables were fresh and presentable. Two bowls of bun no hue and a Coke for $ 25, a bit expensive if you ask me. I would come back and try other dishes.

Back and forth up the block. Street empty. Stomach empty. Empty handed. Paid in full but still poor. I look not in to windows for I know what they will say. And this is fine. To be expected. I wouldn’t want to be working today. I’m not working today. But who cares. This is 2015. Buy sell eat drink build break twenty four seven. Constant capitalism. Sleep is all that stands in the way. Harsh winter sun and I’m awake. Through the second set of doors. I half smile at the crew gathered behind the counter. My half embarrassed half intrusion. We closing in thirty minutes, they say. I promise to eat fast. Sat alone in an empty dining room. Makes me think of a swank hotel restaurant in Asia. Clean floors. Granite counter. Recessed lighting. Hero draped across the bar like old friends. Bond. But that’s just the movies. And probably a little racist. Your hero never seen the outside of these United States. These lines and these walls. Noodles come piled high and steaming. Wilted veg flecked red with chiles. Chief them like dorm room highs. Nose begins to run and I smile a little. A little heat. A little love. A little holiday cheer. These orphans days are not so bad. These days past home. Past family. Past her. Passed her. Merry Christmas everybody. Be kind to one another. I’ll see you on the block.

Very clean, friendly staff and good food. I got the friend dumplings and shrimp summer rolls. Both very delicious! I will be returning.

This place was fantastic. The flank steak Phở hit the spot with it’s perfect broth, bean sprouts, thai basil, lime juice, rice noodles and a bit of sriracha to top it off. Friends had chicken Phở, shrimp spring roles, pad thai and fried dumplings. The restaurant was very clean — open layout of their kitchen area so you can watch them make your meal. That soup hit the spot. We will definitely be back. Much better than Sea’s

Food wasn’t bad but very bland. Started with the vegetable egg rolls fresh and crispy but lacking in flavor and skimpy. Also tried the papaya salad ordered it extra spicy but was pretty mild and lackluster. Got the salt fish fried rice and although the actual pieces of salt fish were pungent I couldn’t taste any of the flavor from it throughout the. The pieces of chicken in the rice were pretty tough as well. The shrimp phở was extremely bland. The broth had no development of flavors. It tasted like the noodles were served in the water they were boiled in. No amount of accompaniments could save it.

Phở FOSHO. I love this place. First of all, it is clean. I would recommend going on a date here, or with a group of friends. The bar seating has gorgeous counter tops, and you can watch the chefs cook. The dining area is nice, and the tables aren’t right on top of each other. I think the food is very good. I haven’t been disappointed yet. The chefs are consistent, the dishes are pretty healthy, and I always leave with extra because the phở is so filling. You can order beers, teas, passion fruit juice, coffee, and soft drinks with your meal. The servers are pretty prompt with water refills. Michael ordered the Yeung Chow Fried Rice, and ate the whole plate because he said it was so good. It had chicken, Chinese sausage, eggs, and an array of veggies. I got the Shrimp Phở. The shrimp was huge, and it tasted so good with the seasoning that they cooked it in before they added it to the noodles. The vegetables that came on the side tray made the flavors come out beautifully. I was coming down with a cold, and the broth was just what I needed. If you are down for something different, I have always had a great experience. Parking can be tight behind the building, but I have always found a spot. If you park on Rawley St., just be sure to park on the correct side if you are going to be enjoying your meal during changeover.

The phở here is respectable, but it’s not better than SEA’s. It is, however, more expensive — and they charge .50 for a takeout container. Seems a little tacky to serve a ginormous bowl and then charge people for taking the leftovers home. When I go to SEA, I plan on eating half the phở, and saving the remainder for lunch(or, usually, breakfast) the next day. BF had the tofu vermicelli bowl and that was tasty. However, what impressed me most(and NOT in a good way) about Phở Viet was the incredibly loud muzak that was playing. Maybe the volume would’ve been acceptable if the place had been full, but there were only four tables and I could barely hear myself think over the terrible music. I said to the BF, «This makes me want to open my veins in a warm bath,» to which he responded«Not me; I wouldn’t want this to be the last sound I ever heard in my life.» Fair point. I’d come back to Phở Viet if I had an insatiable craving for phở, but every other phở joint in town was inexplicably closed. Otherwise, not so much.

My GF and I dined here last week. The décor is very nice and is clean for a Phở restaurant. They phở was pretty good. My GF loved the Bun Bo Hue.(beef noodle soup) Our server was very attentive and the food came out quick. I would definitely dine here again if I’m around this area!

Phở Viet is solid. Their menu is basically identical to a handful of other places in town. You can get a solid bowl of phở here but there are two other dishes which distinguish Phở Viet from the other Vietnamese places in town. Bun bo is a spicier and funkier version of its well know cousin phở. Noodle soup in a beef based broth served with a side of basil, sprouts, other aromatics that I didn’t recognize, and loaded with chunks of beef shank(I think), and other more mysterious cuts of meat with a side of potent red chili paste. Load up your soup noodles with chili paste until they’re blood red in color and the broth glistens with little pools of chili oil then dig in. Phở Viet also serves my favorite bun or vermicelli dishes as well. Maybe they’re doing something different than the rest or maybe its because I upcharge that humble $ 10 noodle dish into a grilled pork, chopped up spring roll, fried egg loaded $ 20 bowl of deliciousness. I’m not totally sure.

The phở here is the real deal, and the chicken phở was the best I’ve had in a while. I pay bit more here for food than some other places, but since it’s just a few blocks from me it’s worth the convenience. The spicy beef udon soup is legit but the broth can be inconsistent. One time the broth had less intense beef flavor, and on a different visit my udon soup bowl had far too much boiled pork sausage and not enough beef. On a different visit I ordered the papaya salad as an appetizer and some chicken on vermicelli as a main dish. The grilled chicken was solid and generously portioned. The papaya salad was very fresh and flavorful but definitely overpriced at almost 9 dollars.

Pretty comparable to the late Pang Zi(May it rest in peace) I got my standard beef phở and I love the fact that I can chose what beef I wanted in it because I am not a fan of those lil meatballs! I got all well done beef and onion cakes in the side. Super delicious and lots of flavor! The phở broth is perfect

Tried this place out during the blizzard because I was too lazy/didn’t feel like making a trek to my regular phở place. It was alright, though nothing really stood out and made me think«wow, I have to come here all the time now». I got the chicken phở and a side of the fresh shrimp spring rolls for takeout. Both dishes were fresh, and the soup was hot enough. The phở broth was a little less flavorful than I would’ve liked, and the chicken seemed fake in a way. Maybe it was the way they sliced it, it’s served more as a medallion than just chunks of chicken like I’ve had at all other phở places. The spring rolls were ok as well, again, the shrimp in them seemed different than what I was used to. Instead of using the large shrimp, they used the small ones. The food here seemed more pre-packaged than I’ve had at other restuarants serving this type of thing. The prices here were a little higher than what I was used to paying, my meal came out to be about $ 14 dollars. I’m somewhat of a creature of habit and this is what I get pretty much any time I go to a Vietnamese restaurant. Usually, it comes out to be about $ 10-$ 11. Again, not a horrible experience and did just fine in a pinch when I felt the dire need for phở. Just not a place I would go out of my way to frequent.

My first time here was also my first time dining with Unilocal’s International Food Club. Great company and yummy food. Service was speedy and fantastic. It didn’t hurt that the staff was on first name basis with cool gal Naz B. :D It is very open and roomy, good for groups. The aesthetics were sleek and modern… so don’t let the outside/storefront fool you! For the apps we shared wings, calamari and scallion pancake. All was pretty standard, but what won me over was the crispiness of the wings! I’m picky with wings and Phở Viet knows how prep and fry a good crunch. It didn’t have that thick layer of mush fat that makes me gag, and the meat was succulent. The weather was your typical cold 585 winter, so I warmed up with a hot Vietnamese coffee with sweetened condensed milk. For my entrée I had the Bun, which is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, and what I feel is a vermicelli garbage plate of delishizness. I ordered the bowl that came with the shredded pork, chopped egg roll, fried egg and added shrimp. The bowl itself had a good balance of noodles, julienne veggies, herbs and beans sprouts to the meat toppings. Though I love this type of dish, if it’s served with a mediocre dressing, it may very well taste bland, sorta ruining the meal. Yes, even with all those ingredients, I still found that the dressing was watered down and more sweet than salty sour. I think maybe restaurants are afraid to pack on the fish sauce. I ended up eating the leftovers with homemade sauce. The egg roll was also mediocre, but the pork was well cooked and seasoned. And in all honestly, with all that being said, it was 100x better than Mamasan’s. Will update my review when I come back for more wings and to try their pork chop rice plate with the fixings, my other favorite Vietnamese dish.

So glad to finally get over here! Thanks to Naz B. I may have found my new favorite Vietnamese place! I went with the Phở Ga because I typically like a lighter phở, and I was placed with the combination of flavors and quality of the chicken. The accompaniments for the phở were fresh… No slimed sprouts here, and the basil and peppers were bright green! The lime wedge was large and strong in flavor which I like. We warmed up with hot jasmine tea to start and it was brewed well. I also tried some of the Bun and a spring roll, all of which were incredibly fresh tasting. I may come back this week for my own Bun. Good sized portions leave you satisfied! I also really liked the décor and the open kitchen. There is a welcoming feel, and I’m definitely coming back!

Yesterday was my first time ever trying Phở. I met a friend for lunch, and he wanted to get some noodles. I had never been to Phở Viet(or even had Phở soup) before, but I am very glad I tried something new. The soup was amazing. When you walk into the restaurant, you just seat yourself and somebody will be over shortly with menus and water. It is very clean inside and it has a fun atmosphere. There are some nice paintings hanging on the walls, but the best part of Phở Viet(aside from the food) is the music. Chinese techno music was playing while we were eating, but my friend assures me that the playlist jumps around to 80’s pop and more mellow tunes most other days. Phở also has a private parking lot in the back of the restaurant(something that is hard to find for most restaurants on Monroe Ave). The food was great. I didn’t know what to expect because this was my first time even trying this kind of dish, but I loved it. I’m very glad to be moving only 5 minutes away in a week because I will definitely be back. I ordered the Round Rare beef Phở Soup and it was delicious. The broth was very tasty, and the noodles were cooked perfectly; not chewy and not mushy. A big surprise to me was the beef. Unlike the tiny, not even bite-sized bits of meat you find in a Campbell’s soup can, this came with good-size pieces of shaved beef. The prices are great, too. My soup was served in a massive bowl with enough in it to the point where I didn’t even eat dinner because I was still full from lunch, and it came to only $ 8.75. I can’t speak to anyone who is familiar with this type of cuisine, but if you are new to Vietnamese dishes(like I am) and you are willing to try something different, I would definitely check out Phở Viet.

Oh yum, I had been looking so forward to phở I couldn’t stray. It hit all the notes I craved. Happily sitting with a bunch of UnilocalERS we sampled a few things. I didn’t sample the bun but heard rave reviews. I did taste the pad thai and will be back for that the next time around. The chicken wings were plain but cooked well. The calamari was ok, doused with a spattering of red and green bell peppers, otherwise plain. The green onion pancakes were pretty standard. Durian milkshake? Not for me but really glad to be able to experience it. Off street parking on a snowy evening, very welcoming.

Phở Viet is the latest addition to what seems to be the street to run Vietnamese restaurants… Monroe Ave. There is off street parking behind the restaurant. This makes it convenient to visit during evenings when bar traffic has taken up all the on street parking. The décor here is atypical for an Asian restaurant — it is more a combination of open kitchen/spa than a noodle house. I also noticed a fireplace on my last visit. There are also a few TVs around, usually showing a slideshow of the menu. I am hoping this means I can eat something besides bar food when I want to watch the World Cup next year. It is fairly spacious in here and I have never had to wait for a table during lunch rush. I have tried a fair bit of the menu: the phở(really good, well balanced, doesn’t need much in the way of the sauces at the table.), fresh spring rolls(the tofu in the veggie ones are fried — nice touch), chicken wings and bun bo. My favourite was the bun bo. The spicy beef broth was redolent of lemongrass and chilli. I did think it needed a touch of fish sauce or some other sort of salty note. It usually comes with pork chunks(which I heard from a friend were more fatty) and beef but I got mine with just beef. The noodles looked like a thinner version of udon and were pleasantly chewy. I also got a side of crushed red chilli(which oddly looked homemade… could it be?) to add more heat to my soup. Next time I order this dish, I will request a side of fish sauce. If you are not into spicy food, I advise sticking to the phở. The chicken wings seem hit or miss — the first few times I ordered them, there was an option to get them stir fried in a spicy and sweet sauce but on my last visit, I was told it was not offered. $ 7.25 for 8 simply fried wing halves is on the pricey side. I have been wanting to try the calamari(to see if it is similar to the SEA version that I love) but $ 10.95 for an appetizer described in one word(«Calamari») has made me hesitant to order it. On my last visit, I noticed the addition of the notorious Sesame Chicken and Crab Rangoons to the menu. I guess this will make Phở Viet a viable option for picky eaters. However I hope it doesn’t take over the Vietnamese focus of this place since what I like the most here is that they offer Vietnamese dishes outside of phở and banh mi. The service here has always been very friendly and I think I have been served by one of the owners or chef a couple of times. Overall, this is a unique addition to the ever growing list of Vietnamese restaurants in town and I will be back soon and often.
