I usually love Pontillo’s, but my last experience left me wanting. Pontillo’s is pizza and while pizza is good, this just wasn’t. I was feeling mightily lazy and ordered delivery. I placed an order online for a medium pie, with just pepperoni and cheese. I asked for it on the thin crust and for it to be cooked on the more well done side. It was delivered within the expected time frame, but I was sorely disappointed when it arrived. The ratios were off: way too much sauce and cheese for the crust which made the crust pretty much soggy throughout the entire thing. Upon further inspection, the dough seemed to be undercooked — on a thin crust! How? I was able to save it by throwing it in the oven and baking it further, but it was pretty unremarkable. I’m hoping it was just an off night, but I don’t think I’ll order their thin crust again.

Ordered boneless wings for delivery online. Food came on time, was hot, and there was definitely enough buffalo sauce. The only thing I wasn’t a fan of was how salty the aftertaste was. Maybe they use salted butter for their mild buffalo sauce mixture? I don’t know what else would cause that. Will order again because of how prompt and hot the food was and just not get mild sauce again.

Stay Away. I have been a customer for years. I probably go once a week. I always order a large pizza and use the $ 2 off online coupon. They NEVER require me to actually«print» it. I placed an order today over the phone to have it delivered as I always do. When the delivery guy shows up he tells me I have to actually give him a physical coupon. I call the shop and speak to the owner. He says he’s too busy and won’t honor what they have always done. So basically the owner is trying to pull a Bait & Switch on a long term customer so he can put an extra $ 2 in his pocket. What a jerk.

I was so excited to try their pizza for the first time and hoping that it was NY style pizza. Pizza crust was tough and thick and the pizza had more sauce than cheese. Sauce was a little too sweet for my taste. Will continue to search for decent pizza in the area.

Worse customer service ever I would never go back again. They told me the store owner will give me a call but I haven’t heard anything back and it’s been over two weeks. What kind customer service is that? Brighton pontillos pizza place has the worst customer service compared to any fast food restaurants.

Pontiacs is a pizza place named after the first car I had in America — a Pontiac Bonneville. Those were the days. Oh how I remember them. Such sweet memories.(Singing«memories» to myself). If this is the main Pontillos that people go to, then I’m not surprised it has a reputation for being«not the best place to get Pizza.» The one near the University on Alexander always gives me hot, fresh tasting, amazing slices, whereas this place has served me lukewarm slices on both occasions, and was a bit congealed. Perhaps it’s because this crowd is drunk-er and therefore doesn’t need as much care taken with their food? I’m not sure, but whatever the case, I didn’t appreciate that. What I do appreciate, though, is the taste of the pizza(when heated properly, which I did at home), the taste of the dough. Excellent NY style pizza and very underrated in Rochester. But I do recommend hitting up the Alexander St location instead.

Best pizza I have ever had. And I’ve had a lot. Lunch slices are huge and the subs and wings are also intensely delicious. If you’re a pizza foodie this place is a must.
