Been here twice and I’m in love. One of the best public libraries I’ve been to. It’s truly a gem. I see myself going back a lot more to study and read. The staff is very helpful. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Rochester so far! I parked in the civic center stitcher which was about $ 7.50 for 5 hours. It’s free after 5. I believe their hours are short on weekends(close at 1.30pm!).

This library is pretty spectacular. It’s beautiful and huge — with two floors full of books, magazines, reading nooks, study rooms, computers; pretty much anything you could want from a library(even a small assortment of DVDs and video games to check out). The librarians are very nice, knowledgeable, helpful and easy to find. You can browse and reserve things online, which I’ve found helpful on many occasions. You can even get email alerts when your items are due back or your waitlisted and reserved items are ready for pickup. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the hours. Somehow I always seem to show up when they’re closed. They have odd summer and weekend hours(they close at 5:30 on Friday nights!!).

I think we have one of the best library’s I’ve ever been to. Its huge and has just about anything you could want. The main floor has a giant children’s area, even has a aquarium with live fish. Then on the other side you’ll find a huge video rental area. Whats really nice about RPL is the online system. You can log into your account online with a pin that they give you when you get your Library card. You can then reserve books, videos, computer software, you name it from the web! Also if RPL doesn’t have it you can search all the surrounding library’s and get it sent to Rochester too. In winter I like to get some coffee from the galeria and walk over through the skyway system and read magazines in the large lobby area. I think there are like 4 floors to this Library. Great local spot.

I feel the local Rochester library does a great job. If you are lucky you will time it right and get a metered parking spot right across the street – If not use the garage and stay warm… It is two stories with all the reference and serious stuff upstairs.(i don’t do much up on the top level) On the main level they have a nice large children’s area and they often will host events and reading for the kidlets… I like that they have a very vast offering of dvd’s, cd’s for music so that you can try an artist cd in your car for a week to see if it is something you can live with… They have a nice enough selection of reading material and guess what??? IT“S FREE… now who can complain about that???

I went to the Rochester Library hundreds of time while I lived there. The staff was fantastic and the librarians and staff were fantastic. I would spend half a day on the weekends just browsing cool books there and gaining knowledge by the pound. For a small town, they have a great library!

The Rochester library is surprisingly good for such a sleepy town! You can really access a lot of information here and the study rooms are just perfect for getting work done. The librarians are helpful, there are free foreign films and there are just tons of book choices. I only wish the hours were later and better for weekends, the parking was free for extended hours when visiting and the Wi-Fi was more consistent. Otherwise, a beautiful facility for our growing city!
