Irish bar and great restaurant with a variety of food. New to me deck outside. Food very good. Best Mac and cheese in town. I had chicken alfredo. Hubby had 2 huge pork chop. Friends had prime rib and pizza. Servers were friendly and helpful.

Good place to go for a quick lunch, I got the Cuban panini, was served to me within 10 minutes. Sandwich was a little salty, but putting on a sauce that’s a little more tangy would fix that. Other than that, great service, good food, I would definitely come back to try something else on the menu. Plus it seems to be where a lot of locals stop in, so it has to be worth returning to.

It’s always a good time and the food/drinks are delicious. I keep going back. It’s a good place to visit when needing to warm up after a ghost walk. Also to hear the stories about the events there. See ya there!

5 of us went on a Friday night for fish fries. Got seated right away about 6:45pm. That was good, I figured there’d be a wait especially when I saw how full their parking area was. The décor, such as it is, is just your basic table & chairs. Of course there’s a bar. All in all this is what you would expect from an unpretentious family place, so no problem there. 2 of us got the breaded fish fry while the 3 others had baked fish. There were plenty of other menu items, lots of appetizers, burgers, steaks, salads, Italian dishes etc, etc. all good. Reasonably priced too. I’m taking off ½ star because my fish was dry, over cooked. The breading was quite chewy. The fries(actually chips) were also dry. I usually don’t complain and I’ve had far worse but I have to be truthful. I must add the others had no complaints, especially those who had the baked fish. They all said they were very good. Also I take off ½ star because it seemed unduly noisy! Service was excellent & swift. I will return. I like their menu & service & I’m not going to let 1 minimally bad meal completely sour me on this place.

Great atmosphere. Irish nachos were also great. Shaved Delmonico steak sammich was very good as well. Fried pickles, I could have skipped. Iced tea to drink in a very tall glass, which was too tall for the the given straw. Eventually ended up skipping the straw, and when drinking directly from the glass, spilled a little because of the ice. So that kinda sucked. Seems to be just less than polished. Solid 3 stars out of 5.

This place is a little treasure. The food is excellent and the service is superb. The atmosphere is fun and totally informal. The area leading to the kitchen is a bit too exposed and definitely could be cleaner. Same with the restrooms. When it comes to food and service, those are top priorities and they do hold up. This place will be a regular stop for me and Milady.

What’s best about this restaurant is, it really IS Family friendly. When our large family was seated, I asked for crackers for our hungry toddler. The manager and staff brought a bowl of juicy mandarin oranges, bread and butter and packages of Oyster Crackers. The Manager said she had 3 kids and can’t have a hungry baby! Just so nice. We had Burgers, Chili, Irish nachos, Stuffed potatoes and Shepherds pie. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. The genuine Irish atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the great Irish Craft beers were a big hit. Love everything about this place.

Made reservations for 7:30 but didn’t even get seated until 8:15. Kept walking up to the hostess and asking her when the table would be ready and all she kept saying was«One minute, one minute». Everyone ordered fish fries and they were pretty over cooked, not to mention my one person at my table had HAIR in his fish! The waitress came by and grabbed his plate without even asking how it was when all the rest of us were still eating. wouldn’t you think to ask why someone left a basically full fish on their plate? We waited about 20 minutes for the waitress to come back with the check and once we paid we had to wait about another 20 minutes for her to return the credit card. Bartenders ignored us at the bar, we could only order a drink once we sat down at our table. Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you are hungry and wanting a drink.

Irish Pub and Restaurant all in one! This is a regular spot for my family and friends. I have been to many private parties/events here. The family owned staff really know how to treat you well. Spacious bar area, with a lot of Irish flare, music and art work. Irish nachos and fried pickles are delicious appetizers. Lots of live music events. Hours are: Mon — Sun 11:30am to 2am Make sure to stop here for St Patty’s Day, huge tent out back with live music and amazing drink specials! Irish stew is homemade and perfect!

Good bar with plenty of outdoor seating available. Quite lively and busy on a Saturday evening. Separate dining area if you like to be away from the hoopla. Attentive and pleasant waitress and manager. What seemed to be like the owner of the place coming up to tables and asking how everything was which is always appreciated. As for the food I started off with the Irish Nachos which were basically potato wedges with cheese and onions(had it without bacon) with a side of ranch. Delicious! Finished the whole thing. The seafood soup for the day was too salty and lukewarm. The salad that came with my steak was very basic and nothing worth mentioning. Went for the Delmonico Steak which was a nice big 14 oz steak with a side of coleslaw. Mediocre steak which was done a bit more than what I had ordered. Not entirely soft and somewhat chewy. Had decent flavor but didn’t make me go gaga. Came with vegetables which tasted straight out of a freezer bag microwaved. A big no. The coleslaw was also lacking in flavor. The seafood entrée for the day had good flavor but was a tad bit undercooked. I chose not to have dessert. Great lively atmosphere and ambiance. Good service. Disappointing food except for the nachos. Maybe this is more of a drinks place though the«Steak & Seafood» part made me want something more. Even though loud drunk card games and glassy eyed middle aged couples making out in front of the restrooms might not be everyone’s cup of tea I might still come back just for bar fare. Avoid the bar(or any bar) if such an experience is not your thing.

We have been to Shamrock Jacks many times over the years and we always stop there at the end of our St. Patrick’s day celebration before we go home for our dinner… This year we arrived as we always do and after we ordered our first drinks and went outside to enjoy the weather we were approached by a security person and told we had to leave… I asked what the problem was and all he would say is that we had to leave, for what reason I still don’t know to this day… We didn’t talk to anyone or have an issue with anyone but for some odd reason they felt the need to throw us out… We left without an incident as anyone would do when asked, but this has cost the bar/restaurant our business now and in the future… Thanks for the memories Shamrock Jacks…

I have been here multiple times, every time I eat here I order something different and have never been disappointed by what I order. The consistency of food quality seems to be spot on which is hard to find. The atmosphere is really nice, the restaurant is separated from the loud bar which is very nice! They have a large menu with a wide variety of Irish and American foods. The only cons are that the prices are a bit higher than other restaurants in the surrounding area and the food is great but still lacks that«WOW, best food ever I must tell everyone about this» feeling.

One of the nicest places to go for an absolutely FANTASTIC meal at reasonable prices and there so much food you will have a hard time finishing it and it is absolutely delicious and the owner Mark is courteous and Friendly and always has time to talk to you. Just off Culver Rd on the way to Sea Breeze this is one of the best places in Rochester to go for a nice more than you can eat lunch. Personally my favorite casual restaurant in Rochester!

This place was hopping when I arrived to meet some co-workers last Friday after work. We arrived around 5pm, and were promptly seated in the back dining area(I didn’t realize the restaurant has a multiple rooms until I went in search of the bathroom). Our party of six most stuck to the happy hour specials of discounted wine. I branched out and had the pino grigio, which is a departure from my usual Chardonnay when I’m in a white wine mood. It was fine, nothing too memorable. Our table ordered the Irish nachos and the cheese curds to start with. The Irish nachos looked delicious — potato wedges covered with bacon, a homemade cheese sauce and the addition of chili. Sadly, this dish sounded way better than it tasted. The crisp in the potatoes was non-existent, and the chili was an odd addition with the bacon and cheese sauce flavor(which reminded me of queso). Now, the odd flavor combo is on us because we added the chili, but this dish suffered from nacho multiple personality disorder — there was nothing that said«Irish!» to me except the potato wedges. Sorry, this was a fail for me. Others seemed to enjoy it, so maybe it was just my palate. The cheese curds were another story; I was a little apprehensive about them given I’m not the biggest cheese fan, but these are dangerous. Soft bits of cheese breaded and deep fried? And served with a cajun-style remoulade? Yum, and addicting! Although this place is known for its steak(?), I had the BBQ boneless wings — they were ok… the sauce had a nice sweet/spicy combo but the wings themselves reminded me of breaded chicken nuggets. The restaurant is an old house has two dining areas and a pretty sizable bar. The bar was pretty busy with the after work crowd, and seemed to be a local spot. As another reviewer stated, Shamrock Jack’s is a little schizophrenic… it has everything from wings to steak to lobster to clams casino! And it is a bar that serves food? Or a restaurant with a popular bar? I’m not too sure, even after visiting! I would never have found this without someone suggesting it, but it’s a solid bar/bar food option if you’re spending the day or night down by the lake!

An amazing family experience that becomes continuously new and improved every time we visit. More tables and space but starting to notice how confused people are with the hostess area… how do we let someone know we are here for a table? Last time I was there I had the Shamrock Salad with chicken — fresh and light with homemade croutons and amazing ranch dressing — a plus! The food is always so good– chicken French and the blackened rib eyes are our family favs!

I’m aware there are a lot of people who come here for the steak, but I would come back for the bar experience. It has that Irish pub feel. Enjoy a beer, watch a game, share some apps. It was my first visit with a few friends. We were looking for some food and the Unilocal app led us here after a few bevs on the beach at Marge’s. However, we had an awkward moment walking in. There was a guy closing up the patio, which seemed weird on a warm Friday night around 8 or 9pm. Then, he told us that the back door would be locked. I thought to myself, hmm, are they closed? Again, this is weird for a Friday night. We took our chances. The door was open, so we walk in and the hostess greets us. We ask for a table for three, wanting a bite to eat, and then she looked at us confused, saying, «let me see if they’re still seating people.» WHATISHAPPENING? She comes back and leads us to the bar, FILLED with people. Why did everyone act like the place was empty and not serving anyone. It was unusual and we ignored it after we saw Irish Nachos on the menu. Our server was great, she was super helpful and shared with us the beers on tap as we couldn’t get a good view. The selection wasn’t outstanding, but I was satisfied with a Southern Tier Hop Sun. She warned me a few times that it was a hoppy and bitter, which I was well aware of. I suppose she did that because the usual crowd wouldn’t go for the hoppy beers and probably sticks with the domestics like Blue Light. No offense to that, but it was the vibe I got. My friend and I shared the Irish Nachos. We added on some tomatoes and olives to give it a bit more substance(no extra charge). It was topped with a nice homemade cheese sauce, which was a huge plus compared to generic nacho cheese. The fries are homemade like steak fries, but thinner and crispier. I’ve heard they get some bands on Saturdays, here and there. I haven’t made it out yet, but have kept an eye on the schedule for a Vergil Cain show.
