Great Boli! Reasonable prices. Order at counter… I was in between lunch and dinner so it was slow. Food took 10 – 15 min. I could see if they are busy it could be slow. Might be a good idea to order ahead if your in a hurry. In my opinion food is worth a wait if your in the mood for some good Boli.

This place sucks. I was told 30 minutes for the delivery of a calzone. One hour and 15 minutes later it arrived. Cold, soggy, and completely inedible. It was quite honestly one of the grossest things I’ve ever attempted to eat. It was completely undercooked, I tried feeding it to my dog so it wouldn’t be a complete waste of $ 20, but even he wasn’t having it. Never again. GROSS.

I don’t know why you can’t get a good Stromboli anywhere else. Dave and his crew make consistently great food that makes me salivate just thinking about it. I do miss their East Rochester location…

Food is fine, normally priced. It’s not worth it, though, when you have to wait 20 minutes for a 4″ sandwich when the restaurant is literally empty. Pretty ridiculous.

Changed my mind. I love their individual pizza slices, especially their specialty slices — their buffalo chicken slice being my personal favorite. Buffalo wings are as good as it gets, and I also highly recommend their chili. The new, upgraded location is a big plus.

If Boli was a guitar, then you might«Strumboli.» Whereas if Boli was the name of a guy who competed it fitness competitions, then he would be «Strongboli.» And if he was a drug addict then it would be «Strungooutboli.» As it happens, it’s just a solid downtown pizza place. What to get: A slice for around $ 3. What else: Drugs are bad, m’kay. I visited Stromboli on a weekend, which is actually bizarre if you think about it, because it’s the kind of place that is packed at weekday lunchtimes and then dead on the weekends. And so it was. Nice and quiet. The server was really friendly to me, not so much to the other customers but they were giving her a bit of a hard time. The pizza itself was huge, greasy, filling, and decidedly average. Compared to Pizza Stop down the road it did nothing for me, but on its own merit, it was fine. It wasn’t dry… that I did appreciate. It was one of those large foldy-overy NY-style slices which seem to be a lot more common in Rochester than Buffalo. The pepperoni was added before reheating. It was the large deli-kind, so it wasn’t well done pepperoni, just lightly warmed pepperoni on hot greasy pizza. You might end up absolutely loving this pizza, so give it a try if it sounds like your thing. Just don’t do drugs, people.

I had a deep fried chicken spinach with feta cheese Boli. It was pretty good but wish there’s a bit of salt and pepper inside. Must try.

Every bit of the 3 stars is for the food. Everything else about the establishment was… not great. Went in about an hour before close and there were two guys in front of me, the phone rang a couple times with pick up orders/deliveries while I was there. and they have an online ordering system too, so the wait for the food may have been due to all of that. However, there’s only one other restaurant I know of where food– regardless of volume– takes 40 minutes, and since I know that from working there, that restaurant shall remain nameless. That one is a full-service place with a complicated menu this, however, was pizza– which is essentially all a stromboli is, rolled up pizza. Basically the food took an extreeeeemely long time, and the 10 minute wait in line before I ordered without being acknowledged even when I was right in front of the cashier was not ideal. When I got up there the girl had no extra smiles for anyone, customers or coworkers. I’m hoping she was having a bad day and isn’t just like that all the time, sounds awful. She also appeared to hit approximately 900 buttons for each item she was ringing in, so perhaps they should change the system if that is truly what needs to happen with each order… as it seems to be pissing off the employees and slowing down the whole process. Or maybe she’s just not very good at that, tough to say. The wait wouldn’t have been as bad if they didn’t have some awfully loud deep house music or something playing from the kitchen the whole time. It will definitely be my last time ordering to go in person and waiting for it at Club Boli, that’s for sure. Finally, and this is not important but kind of funny and sums up the vibe of «derf» that I got from the staff, I ordered a veggie stromboli, they asked if i wanted meatless marinara for dipping, I guess their default is a meat sauce. Sure. So when I get the stuff home there’s two sauces, bf’s fully meated sauce and my non-meated. But instead of labeling one«meat» or the other«veg», or «no meat» or any other logical thing, they label it «- meat», because as we all know the universal way to label a vegetarian dish is to write the word«meat» on it, with an ambiguous line in front of it. Just so it’s clear that that in fact has no meat in it…

It’s a good place to go if you’re hungry for a slice of pizza and live close or are in the neighborhood. Slices are wide and thin which I love but the service is either average or flat out terrible. This one woman who works there is awful. First she overcharged the man in front of me and doesn’t even apologize but appears to go to make his food at least. 10 minutes later yells out«what did you want again? A sub or a Stromboli?» She hadn’t even started on it. After getting an answer, a few minutes later another worker appears and asks him what he ordered again. I finished my pizza and the man in front of me still hadn’t even gotten his sub. I was embarrassed for them, get your ish together, the place was otherwise empty. Long story short, expect terrible service if you order anything more than a plain slice.

Love Stromboli, love the new location, seems like a decent place for students to hang out now. Since it’s so cheap and so conveniently placed next to my apt building, I’ve had the chance to try out quite a few things here. Pizza is alright, not really a fan of the thin crust bc all the toppings just fall right off! That stromboli though, mm, greasy, cheesy, doughy goodness. All of them are served with a side of sauce. The portions are pretty huge here stromboli-wise. The ‘mini,’ size will definitely make you full, but sometimes I forget and accidentally order a small which is ginormous, then I’m left eating stromboli for a week!(Not necessarily a bad thing) Usually go for the supreme, chicken broc, or classic pepperoni, but my favorite is getting the breakfast stromboli. It takes a bit longer because they have to fry the eggs first then make the boli from there, but it’s worth it and better than most breakfast sammies, imo. Breakfast for dinner, yay! Turkey subs are really good too! I use the OrderSnapp tool on their website most of the time, makes it easy to just walk in and pick it up twenty mins later when I’m ready.

Three times now now, twice at the old location and once at the new, I’ve had to walk out after 10 minutes of standing at the counter being ignored. The food is excellent, which is why I went back after times one and two, and why I gave a two star rating. The same woman was working all three times, it was between meal rushes so I did not detect an extreme level of business. This latest time the woman had her purse on a cutting board where she was prepping chicken. Gross. Maybe delivery is alright, I’ve never tried it as I live in the neighborhood. But this last time in was my last time at Stromboli’s.

Great food so far but when the cook was refillibg the sauce on the line he poured from the can into the pan that had been there. Not a new one. He then stuck the can under the tap for the handwash sink, swirled it around and poured that mix into the pan holding the sauce. Not sure its unsanitary but its def something.

Great pizza, even better Stromboli. My personal favorite thing here is the breakfast stromboli, but the original pepperoni is great as well. This place also has great subs for a more than reasonable price. As far as food for the price, this place is a 10⁄10. I love the atmosphere and the staff, as well as the food. I also understand that they’re moving to a new location across the street which appears to seat more people and be quite an upgrade from their previous location.

Studying late at Javas… you know how it is you get so wrapped up in the fact that you don’t know any of your lesson plan and the test is just around the corner but you can’t seem to focus because the world keeps spinning and spinning and wait… I’m hungry! LOL… Walked over to Moe’s and wanted to smack myself in the head for even thinking of eating at this place! There is not that much hunger in me… not at all! Thought about Dim Sum, never lets me down but I was in the mood for FOOOOOOD not appetizers. Stromboli Express? Is that the name? Really? Okay, whatever. Asked the waitress/cashier/short order cook if the sub special was any good. She looked at me and asked«what do you want me to make for you?» Thought I would throw her a curve, roast beef and turkey, banana peppers, sweet peppers, flavored oil, lettuce, provolone, pepper jack and tomato on the side. First of all… the bread!!! Shakes the camera for effect… THEBREAD!!! All the ingredients were fresh, not too wet not too dry! and I got chips and a drink with it! WHAT??? Found the late night spot just have to remember they close at nine. This place is the end… wow my sub is A LOT! That’s all I can say… Enjoy.

Other descriptions are accurate. Low frills. Good food. Called in an order from my hotel half a mile away on a bitterly cold night. They were open till 9. Something went wrong and what they had for me wasn’t what I’d ordered. But they were happy to make it right, and the stromboli was worth the wait.

Came to this place because I had purchased a groupon for $ 15 Its basically a hole in the wall, pizza joint downtown on East Ave, next to the bar Salingers, East Ave Commons etc. Stromboli Express is low frills. Seems like they specialize in strombolis but I did see some people ordering pizza slices. When my buddy and I walked in, sure we were a little skeptical. Did I mention the place is very low frills? I would call it a mom and pop place, but really there was only a mom. Yes, this was a one woman show. The cashier, cook and server were all one clearly overworked woman. I almost felt too guilty to order anything. Almost…I went with the chicken, pepperoni boli w/a side salad, buddy chose the spinach feta boli with a side of fries. I must say I was pleasantly surprised with the food here. Everything is made fresh to order, so there was a bit of a wait, but chatting it up with my bud and checking out the interesting characters that came in made time fly. We both finished our bolis, salad and fries. Cleaned our plates. I can’t really comment on WHY the boli was good, it just was. I’m totally opinionated when it comes to conventional pizza, but when you basically roll it up into a boli, I’m at a loss for words? I mean the crust, sauce, fillings, cheese tasted great. The service was damn near exceptional considering there was just one broad running the place. I would definitely go back here, maybe next time I’ll try the pizza.
