First of all let me start by saying Robert is THE best barber in Rochester. He can do anything with your hair that you want. I have been going to him for nearly 8 years now and refuse to let anyone else cut my hair. His prices are extremely fair and reasonable. Way cheaper than any other place I have checked out. What I love the most is that he really puts his heart and soul into those 15 – 30 min, or however long it takes to cut your hair. He has a feel for your hair and doesn’t just whip out the clippers like most places. He really takes his time and is a real perfectionist… which is not a bad thing when it comes to a hair cut! Even if I don’t agree with some of his views that doesn’t mean I should hate on the shop. I would rather have a barber that is personable and can carry on a conversation than just sitting there in silence the whole time. If you don’t like the music, rob will gladly change it to anything you like. He has such a variety of customers that he learns and listens to them which makes him extremely knowledgeable in basically anything you may want to talk about. He is there to please. The place may be under construction but he has a business to run and he is doing all the modifications by himself when he is not busy(which is not very often). I see familiar faces every time I go in so I know he has a good and faithful clientele; both young and very elderly. I have come to the point where I can just sit down and he knows what to do immediately. Do not have to tell him at all. Robert makes a point to get to know you and remember your name and truly make you feel comfortable in his shop. I have recommended Robert to friends who say the same things I do. I highly recommend Robert and the Pole. For what it may lack in the unfinished(which is basically done) interior, he makes up for tenfold with the hair cut. You will always walk out happy and willing to come back. I highly recommend Robert and«The Pole».

A decent barber(one who knows how to cut hair) who does a good job for a fair price, but… Firstly, the place is a dump. He’s been ‘remodelling’ for more than a year now, and the place looks like a storage closet(albiet a very large one). Also, if you don’t want to listen to right-wing-crazy talk radio or holier-than-thou religious music while he’s cutting your hair, you should look elsewhere. **update** Nothing has changed, really. The place STILL looks like a construction zone(and has, for more than 1 year), and the owner is still crazier than a squirrel in heat. Maybe if he’d stop with the conspiracy theories for a bit and concentrate on actually cutting hair, he’d probably get twice as many customers done. As it is, now, a visit to his place means a very long wait, trying to ignore his kooky outlook on life. A little more PROFESSIONALISM would certainly help his profitability, and maybe, if he spent less time on screwy political monologues, he might find the time to finish fixing the place. A disorderly business suggests a disorderly mind, after all. As for myself, I’m seriously considering going back to my old barber. If this guy wasn’t such a good barber, I would’ve done so months ago.
