This place is really big, too bad it was empty. Some friends and I were in town and decided to venture to this club Saturday night. There was a small cover I think maybe $ 2. The was also coat check which was around the same. The bartenders are all nice, and the security is too. The drinks are strong and on par as far as price. The lights and music in the club and pretty good but, there was not much going on. The place is really big, they have several bars and rooms but only the main bar and patio were open. The patio is really neat and heated so its open all year round, however the bar was closed, which was kind of a bummer because the patio is actually really warm. As every gay club does: they have drag shows which may be fun to some, but I think I’m over that point in my life(lol). The performers were good and really sociable after the show. We all had a good time but I would not rush back here. Maybe I caught them on an off night? I mean it is February, maybe ill try again in the summer! Again the patio is really cool!

I been working in bars for over 10 years and in gay bars for 5, my first problem is that everyone there kept shoulder checking me and looking at me like they wanted to start something. Second was the fact it was only Latin music. Third is it didn’t seem gay friendly at all. Lots of security so I assume they must have a lot of problems or are in a bad neighborhood. Cover was $ 5 so that wasn’t bad but the bartenders are def not experienced at all.

I’ve been going to tilt for years. I love the atmosphere whether it’s a Thursday night or a special event I always have a blast! I never felt unconformable there and never even seen a fight there before. The bartenders are all AMAZING and always make my drink perfectly! There is definitely a mix of people there from 18+ and even some times there is an older crown but that is what I love about tilt it such a diverse amount of people. The bathrooms are always clean which is a huge plus for me. Tilt has three separate bars one directly near the dance floor, one outside in an enclosed court yard which has a fully stocked bar and if you’re a smoker you’re more than welcome to smoke it also has music and lasers outside so you still get that club feel being outside. The other bar is inside its more of laid back setting with lots of sitting and a large bar I like this bar because sometime it’s nice to just relax and have a drink without dancing and all the loud music. The cool thing about tilt is if your get there before 11 you and your 21+ its only $ 2 to get it and half off all drinks!

It’s hard not to have a good time here. There’s two indoor rooms and an outdoor, enclosed atrium area. Plenty of room to dance, which is a must. They also have a couple of cages and gogo boxes to rock out in/on. Friday nights they have a Latin music night and Saturdays they have their tilt-a-whirl drag show. There’s also an edm night the last Saturday of each month. The bouncers are super strict here when it comes to being an under. So if you’re under 21 and planning on sneaking a drink or 2, expect to get caught and kicked out. For those of age, they have a great drink special from 10 – 11, $ 2.50 for any well drink. Trust me, you can fit a lot into that one hour if you put your mind to it. It’s nice that they have the private lot in the back, who wants to deal with street parking. Just make sure to leave anything you care about at home, or take it inside with you. There have been numerous break ins in the parking lot. My one qualm, it can sometimes take a bit to get a drink. But, they do have three bars, so at least there’s the option to wander and try out another when your patience is waning.

I took a drink here before I was heading to Amtrak. Just don’t expect the bartenders know how to make the exotic drinks. Tilt is a dance club, not pubs. I can’t judge the atmosphere since I got there on Thursday at 10:00ish. It’s also free to enter bc I’m an early bird here obviously. The bartender was friendly with me. Probably she wasn’t busy at the moment. Parking is free but I’m parked my car on street. I don’t know if there have a parking lot. I rather to spend the drinks at somewhere else. I definitely will visit again on special event only. Will update later.

If you order a «vodka soda with lime,» they’ll charge you $ 6.50 and say«the special is over so it’s 6.50» then inform you that they have two different sizes. I asked another bartender about the person who made the drink«oh she’s new» being new is not a reason for an employee not interacting with customers as they are supposed to. Sorry Tilt… This isn’t NYC, contact me to see if we can understand what was the misunderstanding was and to resolve my issue.

They try to charge 4.5 for 2.5 drink during 10:30PM –11PM. I am feeling uncomfortable after paying money without disputing to manager or supervisor.

Something I miss about going out to dance at Tilt(a while ago) is whenever there was a creepy, sweaty guy trying to get all up in my grill the lovely army of gay men would come and whisk me away and be like«oh please, no» to the creep and tell me how great my outfit/hair looked. In the sea of creeps in Rochester, there are such genuine, wonderful people to meet at Tilt. The music is standard, loud, obnoxious music and it’s fun to dance too. When I went, I was under 21, but all my friends said the drinks there are strong and made very well. I always went on Saturdays or Thursdays(which makes a rough Friday morning), and had an absolute BLAST! I have made SOMANY great friends going out to Tilt. I have never had an issue with any bouncers, as a matter of fact, I’ve spent time talking with them! They seem like all around cool people. They have a cool roofless room where you can have a smoke if that’s your thing, or just cool down from dancing. It gets HOT. Take advantage of how fun it is to dance in the cage and on the tables with your friends. It’s an absolute blast. The drag shows are entertaining and fun to be a part of. Nothing like having a Drag King or Queen take a five out of your teeth! Be responsible and have a great time at Tilt! It’s clean and I enjoy it a lot. I haven’t been in about a year, so I should venture out again soon!

Thursday night is drag shows and is a good time for all. Word to the wise, free cover for those over 21 from 10 – 11. Crowd(at least on thursday) is a mix of lesbian, gay, and straight with a large number of attendees being under 21.

Rochester NY’s only gay dance club to date. The Club– Spacious The Crowd– Mainly 20 something year olds and straight girls dragging there boyfriends to see the show. The latter seems prevalent. The Drag Show– So So with a few clowns! The Security Staff– Terrible! Ready to pounce and fight over anything. I was roughed up bad by staff after being exited out of the club. I had bruises the next day and I wasn’t even looking for a problem. Never will go back! Warning– Police have parked outside of the club and have been known to verbally assault and harass patrons after leaving the club! Warning. do not go to the club alone and watch your surroundings when exiting the club. Be careful in this sketchy downtown location!

The first time I went there with my girlfriend and a female friend, I didn’t know it was more of a gay club, but everything was okay. You will find a mix of straight and LGBT people. Music was good and since it was a thursday there were drag kings and other performers. All in all, we had a lot of fun. After that me and my girlfriend we have been there multiple times. I definitely like this place. They have hookahs out in the patio/smoking area too so you can smoke hookah I guess 10 or 15 $ and you can try other flavors too. Apart from the fact that its not really in a nice neighborhood is the only thing that goes against the place. Parking is free which is good. The lady at the bar is cool and will make your drinks the way you want them to be. I am definitely a fan. Update– thursday nights or their specials may be cool, but I recently went there on a Friday night and was totally disappointed. The music was average. Not so many people either. Would probably not go there again.

Wow I remember going here three years ago when I was a Freshman in college, haven’t been back since. I wasn’t sure what to expect here since it was my first time out in Rochester. It was weird driving here since it’s like a ghost city. Anyway the show was pretty fun, especially if your with a bunch of people. Besides that, it’s nothing out of the ordinary, it’s pretty small, and gets really crowded. Ohhhhh and I almost forgot, people from different age groups come here, I swear there was a 70 year old man here, and other wayyyyy older people, although it didn’t seem all that creepy, just really funny.

Oh Tilt. You bring the entertainment. I’m starting to feel like I’m too old for this place, yikes! The recent times I’ve visited have been to show some support for my friend who hosts the Thurs. Night Drag Show. These ladies are fab-u-lous. It’s sure to be a good time. Grab some friends and make a night of it. They cater to the 18+ crowd and LGBT friendly — lots of fun to be had. For those of us who are 21+, sip on your extra strong mixed drinks, laugh it up with the fab bartenders and get your dance on.

Great music and casual club. Usually $ 3 cover or free on some Saturdays for 21+. I’ve been to the clubs on East Ave, and tilt is just so much better because parking is free and plentiful, you don’t have to «dress up», and they usually have 2.50 $ drink specials until 11pm. There is usually a mix of LGBT and straight so there is something for everyone! Yep definitely a fan!

Tilt is definitely one of my favorite places to dance in Rochester and I’m surprised it has such a low rating. The crowd is always friendly and fun to be around and the music is great. The only downside is it’s a bit out of the way so we generally need a DD to get there. I can’t comment on the drinks since I usually stick to beer or water when I’m there but overall it’s a great place!

A couple of my friends used to have a DJ set here a couple years ago, so I used to come here quite often. While the space is really cool, and it does have one of the best looking interiors in Rochester, the bar kinda sucks. I have to confess, the drinks here are pretty weak, don’t come here if you aren’t riding out a buzz you had from another place. Someone on ROCWiki defended the weak drinks here by saying, «the watered down drinks will keep you from getting dehydrated!» HA! Yeah… Really though, in all honest, I like the fact that Rochester has a bar like Tilt to accommodate the gay/mixed club scene. Even as a straight male, I never felt uncomfortable or threatened here. I actually met some cool people and enjoyed myself. But really, they need to up their game on the drinks.

Tilt is a great place to dance as an alternative to places like Pearl and SoHo(or Heat, as it’s now known), and their signature parties – the Black Party, the White Party, and Halloween – are absolutely out of control fun. One added benefit is that the club is over/under, so you can bring along any friends over 18. MUSIC! I think Tilt really wins out because they play my favorite mix of dance music, which is Top 40 and techno. The dance floor isn’t huge, but it’s good for what it is. And if you’re lucky, on one of those big party nights, you’ll see the go-go dancers on blocks next to you… The bar lounge area is neat, especially with the glowing water decorations and the back-lit bar. The bartenders vary; on nights that are more open to the public, you’ll get snobby large-breasted women serving you drinks. On ‘regular nights’(gay men and their straight companions), you’ll get a mix of extremely built, muscular men serving you drinks. Tilt also features a great interior courtyard(and additional bar area) in case you’re in need of a smoke break or a cool off from dancing. Now, for where Tilt fails: The bouncers at Tilt are consistently rude and inconsistent. They tried to confiscate my friend’s legitimate California license thinking it was a fake, leading to arguments with the Rochester Police Department, a mad dash back to campus to find my friend’s passport, and a lot of inexcusable comments from the bouncers and staff at Tilt. Though I don’t live in Rochester anymore, it’s unlikely that I’d return to Tilt because of this experience. The location of Tilt is also a deterrent, since it’s not in the best of areas and it’s not very walkable to other bars or clubs. For an upscale, more central place to dance and drink in Rochester, I recommend ONE(21+).
