It’s as though they could care less. The reason T.P.‘s gets a bad rap is because it actually used to be flat out amazing until it was sold years ago. I kid you not when I tell you that at one time, it didn’t matter what night of the week you went. The food was consistently excellent ALL THE TIME! The menu is relatively unchanged but the quality has gone down so low I think prisoners are fed better food. I’d love to see this place get sold to someone who cares. It’s such a nice establishment.

Cool ambiance. Nice server. Other than that nothing else was positive. The food was pretty bad. Steer clear of the dry rubbery fish fry and the store bought hummus served in a soup bowl.

I think this place gets more of a bad rap than it deserves. It’s not fine dining, it’s bar food. That’s it. The soft pretzels with cheese is pretty good, as is the steak salad. It’s a cute little hangout in penfield with live music at night. Inexpensive, unpretentious. If you need a quick bite or want to meet up with some friends without getting dolled up, there’s nothing wrong with TP’s.

Cute country inn looking place. Food was bad though. Bone dry chicken sandwich, microwaved bisque with hot and cold spots, tiny fish fry. The menu said $ 9.95 dinner entrees every night of the week but I didn’t see any entrees on the menu with that price. Unfortunately 2 strikes you’re out. Will not be dining there again. Might go for a drink though.

Stopped in on a busy Friday night to listen to live music. The bar is missing most of the current popular liquors. So I went w my old stand by, captain and coke. The bar was packed but the 90 year old bartender could not make drinks to save his life, very slow. The other boring bartender was not much better w zero personality. Most people had empty drinks while the bartenders stood back and observed. I am sure the bar owner would not be happy at home much money he was losing. Anyways I would not go back.

If it were possible to award no stars, I would.
The place changed its name to ‘T.P.‘s’. Why would you let your restaurant’s name remind people of TOILET PAPER is beyond me.
We were in the E.R./Penfield area and hungry for lunch and decided to stop in.
The horseshoe shaped bar was nice and provided the usual Irish pub vibe. We were greeted promptly and seated at the table. When we opened our menus we were initially very happy. Once again, typical pub grub, chili, french onion soup (I’m a sucker for this stuff, I think it’s the crocks), burgers, salads, clubs, dips, etc.
The first indication that something was bound to go wrong was when the bf asked if the onions on the cajun chicken sandwich were raw or sautéed. The answer was a resounding and cheerful ‘I dunno!’ Whatever.
So…
Despite my adoration for the fresh onion, I opted for the soup of the day, tomato, veg and rice with a turkey club. He ordered the french onion and a cajun chicken sandwich. She left the menus on the table, I took them and put them back myself.
Soups arrived in about ten minutes (the french onion), and we dug in. My soup was more like tomato porridge. His was clearly made with beef bouillon. The onions weren’t caramelized, the ‘croûton’ was a few pieces of bread thrown in and the cheese was just plain weird. Disgusting.

Why can’t anyone figure out that when you serve pasta or rice soup that you leave the starch to the side and mix prior to serving so the soup isn’t like oatmeal? I mean, really???
Then we waited.
She comes to take our soups away.(empty water glass)
And waited.
And waited (the empty water glass is now our mascot).
Still waiting, we’re about to make a jail break.
Finally! The sandwiches arrive!
My turkey club is… not a club. To be fair, I then checked the menu and sure enough it states that it is served on a roll. Who takes an American classic sandwich and changes it? So, it was served on a roll, one of those rolls that have a ton of preservatives to keep them fresh for days that resemble the taste of packing peanuts. The tomato on the sandwich is more pink, watery and translucent as if it had been pre-​sliced. Pre-​slicing is fine, if is for that day, but this sorry little tomato had been waiting to meet me for days. The bacon was good, though-​but how do you eff up bacon? The cheese and the turkey were really off, I suspect also a victim of poor storage and slicing. Even the two sad little pickles were wrong. I ate about a quarter of my ‘club’.
The cajun chicken sandwich was reported to taste like italian dressing, which is a fine marinade, but it negated the cajun aspect of said sandwich. He also said the chicken was ‘soft’ like a chicken nugget, not firm like a chicken breast should be. The other crime was that they put the sautéed onions on the bottom of the sandwich making it impossible to pick up, so he ate with a knife and fork. He took the top of the foam bun and put it to the side. He usually finishes my leftovers, didn’t finish his sandwich. He had the same sad pickles and questionable tomato.
I paid the $ 28 bill, left a $ 4 tip and left. Pissed.
Then, we both started to feel strange. Sick to our stomachs strange. Neither of us got sick, but there was something very, very wrong. Those few spoonfuls I had of his soup kept repeating on me until 8p.m.
When I told people at work where I had eaten they both replied with a very grave look that I did not want to see that kitchen. To which I replied, I feel like I know what that kitchen looks like.
Zero stars for Toilet Paper.

The only thing worse than having your flight delayed is having your flight delayed so late that most restaurants are closed by the time you arrive.
Such was the case when my flight into Rochester was delayed and I found myself at the hotel at 10:00pm. Of course I was sidetracked when my GPS malfunctioned (more about that later), which also didn’t help. After checking in, I asked the nice lady at the front desk if she could suggest a relaxing place to eat that was still open. She pointed me to Timonthy Patrick’s.
Timothy Patrick’s is an rather nice Irish pub who’s interior is adorned with flags from various cities in Ireland. I was seated immediately by a nice server and ordered a Guiness as well as the Stroganoff burger. The crisply cold Guiness was off the tap and tasted great.
My Stroganoff burger consists of a hamburger patty seated on a piece of rye bread slathered with sour cream. All of this is covered with a mushroom sauce. The dish wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t memorable either.
I have to stay that the restaurant was very clean and the service was excellent. Not bad for a bar, but it wouldn’t be my first choice unless I was looking for a beer and several TV’s featuring various sporting events.
