Every time I go to Tinn’s I feel like it’s hit or miss. The past couple of times, its been a miss. The boxes keep changing in size, and the fries portions have gotten smaller. I may give it another 1 or 2 more times before giving up all together. The wait is too long to risk it, which is sad because I remember it being really good 2 years ago.

Not a fan. Service wasn’t great, cheese curds and fries were nearly burnt and crunchy. The bread was just«ok». Very plain jane. The cheese bread was a joke — literally sliced cheese thrown onto halved bread and then over-toasted to a crisp. Very overpriced for the quality. We gave a 2nd chance and it was just as bad as the first time.

All sorts of philly sandwiches, including the traditional philly steak. Lots of options like honey bbq, buffalo chicken, hawaiian, etc. Plenty of side options too(fries, cheese curds, I can’t remember what else but I’m sure lots) It looks a little like a dive, it’s somewhere between fast food and fast casual.

All I can say is WOW! If I am spending almost 10 to 15 dollars on lunch which I knew before doing so I have some expectations. I see this big tub of fresh cut fries in the back but you decided to just re-warm the ones from earlier. Old re-warmed fries just don’t cut it, use to love this place but since they expanded to other locations quality has went down hill, seems like they are cutting corners to try to make up for more overhead. Too bad gonna miss this place but it is off my list now.

Tinn’s is quality prices with the food to back it up! From their sandwiches to their fries, they are unbeatable. They throw the meat on fresh as soon as you order, as well as any sides you may want! Fast, simple, easy, but good food that won’t make your stomach turn or feel 8 times heavier post-meal! I order the Philly bacon, fries, and/or cheese curds for the fam. Not to mention super hard working men behind the counter who seem like genuinely nice guys! I found these guys on Unilocal,so if you are reading this undecided — try this place! You won’t regret it :)

Love Tinn’s subs. Good ol Classic subs cooked to order. Chipotle philly is my personal favorite– but if u don’t like spicy ask for no peppers!

The fries are excellent. It’s hard to pass them up. The buns are a little on the crisp side but still hard to pass up. Yummy !!!

Tinn’s is good Philly Cheesesteak, despite all the negativity of this review. For Rochester, it may be considered great, but it doesn’t really compare to really good Philly Cheesesteak. The meat, bread and cheese were above average. One item that was disappointing is that the banana peppers are pickled. They grill fresh mushrooms and fresh onions, so I would have appreciated not tasting the pickling of the banana peppers that detracted from everything else. Also, I had high expectations for the fries but they were somewhat below average, tasting like they were reheated too many times. Lastly, you should be warned that at the lunch rush there is a fair amount of wait time.

Despite the somewhat lackluster atmosphere and questionable cleanliness, the quality of the food is undeniably the hallmark of Tinn’s. Definitely not the place if you’re on a diet, but the stick-to-your-ribs filling greasiness this place offers is downright hard to beat. From a huge selection of different sandwiches, any fan of subs and Philly cheesesteaks will be more than satisfied. The staff do away with traditional customer service obsequiousness, but are friendly and accommodating to a tee. In terms of down to earth, classic comfort food, you can’t get much better, although if you’re looking for a hip hangout, you might continue your search.

I’m so happy I moved up by 55thST. BESTSANDWICHESEVER!!! :) What makes me love Tinn’s even more is that they open at 10:30 for early birds like myself, which I like to call that lunch time. ;) Parmesan Chicken Bacon Ranch with a side of cheese curds mmmmm

I was super excited to try this place due the reviews on Unilocal and I had a craving for a good Philly-steak sandwich. I stopped by for a quick lunch during work. The line was medium-long, but the employees were friendly and efficient. I ordered the 8 inch Tinn’s Philly Steak Sandwich with steak, onions, peppers, mushrooms and provolone cheese. The sandwiches come in three sizes 6, 8, and 12 inch. The bread was good, but its very narrow so the sandwich is small, compared to a similarly priced Subway. The sandwich had bites of chicken from the neighboring sandwich they had made, so if this bothers you, you probably want to ask them to be careful. There really wasn’t much flavor to the meal. They steak was greasy, the banana peppers were bland, and the provolone cheese tasted odd. I didn’t order the fries because I’d seen what they looked like on another person’s meal(mushy). I would have rated this place higher, but I’ve had much better sandwiches and at better prices. I would have liked the option for mayo or lettuce/tomato, but I may be in the minority on this request. Overall, it didn’t satisfy my steak sandwich craving, so I probable won’t be back.

Love this place! Rochester lacks places like this. My boyfriend is from Philly and knows his sandwiches, he loves this place! The atmosphere and food make him feel like he’s back in Philly :) I’ve never been let down by anything here, sandwiches and fries are good!

Best hot sandwiches I’ve had in my life. They grill everything up fresh for you at this little local hot spot. VERY busy during lunch rush so I would recommend calling ahead and getting take away(but check it first I have had them mess up my order a few times). there isn’t a bad sandwich on the menu. The chipotle Philly and chicken teriyaki are my top picks!

Mediocre sandwiches, kind of greasy and they don’t give you much food. You get plenty of bread with some meat in it. Relatively quick, but there’s usually a line too. It isn’t horrible if you are really craving a sub, but definitely had better. The prices are reasonable and atmosphere is extremely casual lol.

My boyfriend is a huge fan of Philly Cheese Steak so this was a definite must as we were passing through Rochester. Unfortunately, he was very disappointed. He got a medium Philly Cheese Steak and it was smaller than a sub you get at Cousin’s. It barely had any mushrooms. No mayo and very little cheese. Not sure if that was how it was suppose to be? The cook was new because the owner was showing him how to cook everything. The steak itself was very good and tender. But it lacked color and didn’t look very appetizing. I, on the other hand had the Texas Fire and THAT was amazing. Perfect mix of steak, peppers and spice.

I am not sure what makes these sandwiches oh so good and addicting… but they are freakin wonderful. The bun is always fresh and good and the steak, chicken, cheese, shrooms, onions, sauces are always fabulous too. I love the fries and will put some malt vinegar on there with my ketchup and salt… it is always fresh because they grill it right in front of you and you can get it how you want it… I typically get the chicken terriyaki… with peppers, onions, cheese and shrooms… but I have tried many others and never been disappointed…
