Tom Kadlec Honda

Firstly, I’m reviewing the service department. This place has a nice building, but the people offer terrible service. They’re supposed to know what engine oil they’re supposed to put in my car. It even said on the cap that it was a specific quality of engine oil. They messed that up and put in a wrong type. It would have been fine if they just admitted their mistake and fixed it. But their mentality of not admitting their error and trying to say it was my fault for not telling them is an egregious error on customer service. The employees’ customer service mentality must change significantly. The customer is always right, and in this case, certainly more right than the people providing the service.

Me and my wife were searching for a new car to replace my aged Honda Civic LX 2001. We looked at several car dealers including Hyundai, Toyota, Subaru and Honda. Aaron and Andy at the showroom were very helpful. Aaron explained the parts of the Pilot Touring we were looking for very patiently. He worked with the budget I had in mind and gave me a deal that worked for us. When I returned a second time with my wife and parents Andy was very helpful in showing us a couple of different cars to try out. Finally, I would say that it was the package they put together for us that helped us make the decision. I would definitely recommend Andy and Aaron as they were very helpful. I have leased the pilot for three years and look forward to returning to Tom Kadlec.

Don’t buy from them, used car out the door with an extended warranty that they refused to honor, tried to charge $ 100 just to look at it, horrible service, buyers beware! Customers are apparently lied to on a regular basis!

Excellent service. I’ve worked across the U.S. and purchased a car in many states, every few years. Andy Gostomczik discussed our needs via Internet and phone, quickly found something that had just what we wanted, gave as a great sale price, no haggle, and the extras we requested like a rack and cargo cover. Amazing fast service with a one hour check-​out. Our experience now purchasing 3 cars at Tom Kadlec, has been first class, 5 star in sales, finance, service. Of note, Barry in finance– great personal and professional tips, finance miracles, friendly. This is the best dealership I’ve ever worked with. We walked in, signed on the dotted line, drove away with our dream 4-​wheeler, SUV, with 8 seats for the whole family, basketballs, bikes, you name it. Loaded! Love it! I’m very spoiled with the warm leather seats in the Minnesota winter. Makes minus 20 tolerable– thought that wasn’t possible!
Another service note, as this is our 3^rd car from Honda in 3 yrs, they have a great shuttle service, taking me to work, picking me up, right to the front door. When I came out, waiting for me. That was also super service and very nice personnel. Every interaction has been excellent. If you note my reviews, I’m very transparent and believe me, I have no ties or reason to make this up. I’m just thrilled with the safety, quality of the car, and my experience at this dealership all the way around.

We found a nice looking used RAV4 online and wanted to check it out. Since we live in the twin cities, I called down and inquired salesman Jeff about any obvious damage or scratches. Jeff was kind enough to check the RAV4 over for anything major and reported back no damage so my wife and I drove down 2 hours 30 minutes round trip to check it out.
Of course there was a large crease about 6−7″ long on the drivers side passenger door that my 85 year old grandma couldn’t have missed. Keep in mind they were asking more than kbb and nada «excellent/​high retail» for a «good» condition car. He then tried to argue the condition, price vs book, and told us he’d be willing to fix the crease but then he would have to charge us for an «Excellent» condition vehicle.
After we left, he called me several times to let me know that his general manager wasn’t in today so only today could he offer me a $ 1,500 discount (which still was way overpriced for a RAV4 in this condition.)
I get that it’s slow in January, but lying to a customer to get them to make such a long drive isn’t a good way of doing business. We’ll never do business with Tom Kadlec Honda.

We recently purchased our 2015 Honda CRV at TK Honda and had exceptional service. I’ve purchased other vehicles from them in the past and have always had good customer service, so I’m not sure what Hotho D. is talking about. We got a very fair trade in for my 2008 Toyota Prius, and our salesman, Neal, was exceptional! The financing was fair and we even had some $$ reduced. You just can’t expect to pay nothing when purchasing a new 2015!
We had 2 accessories added to the vehicle, and when we picked it up, Neal took us to our new car and oriented us to all of the electronic LCD screen options, including syncing both my husbands and my iPhones to it. The car was absolutely clean with paper floor mats so our cloth car mats wouldn’t get dirty (we did purchase the hard rubber mats to keep the floors cleaner longer).
I would definitely do business with TK Honda again in the future, and especially with Neal, our salesman. He treated us fairly and with great customer service.

We’ve just purchased our first Honda and I had my first experience with this dealership when I had my very first appointment to install a couple of accessories for our car.
Pricing:
They charged me MSRP plus installation (basically, max possible $$$) which, I suppose, is because I didn’t have the accessories installed at the time of purchase (and I did not purchase the vehicle from them). No discount offered. In fact, they didn’t even bother to point me towards a coupon at their website that I could use.
Quality of work:
Both of the accessories appear to be installed and functioning properly. However, when the vehicle was delivered to me there was mud all over both the front floor mats, door sills and surrounding areas. It appeared as if someone walked inside my vehicle with a wet muddy boot. This was a brand new 2014 Accord Hybrid Touring taken delivery less than a week ago and yet they did not even bother clean up that mud. I was just speechless when I entered the car. I took the car inside their shop and asked one of the servicemen there to clean it, the person wiped out the mud from door sill with a wet paper towel (which «came back» after the water dried off few minutes later). He didn’t even bother to clean any of the floor mats or look anywhere else. Service people in dealerships I’m used to have always used protective clothing/​cover to keep vehicle clean and scratch-​free. If fact, my Nissan dealer (next door from TK Honda) always provides a courtesy car-​wash before delivering the vehicle to the customer. If the external work was so messy externally, one wonders what/​how they’ve done inside the dash and other place in the vehicle that’s not readily visible.
Service:
Another disappointment. When I asked for a shuttle service, the service person asked me to go the secretary and request one there. Minor thing but I felt like he should be making a quick phone-​call to the appropriate person instead of having a customer go desk to desk. Something I’ve grown used to by other dealers but, I guess, too much to ask from TK Honda. When I came to pick up the vehicle, after payment was completed, the service person gave me the key and pointed me to the spot at the parking lot where it was parked. Again, it might be that my expectation is too high but, I was expecting someone to go through everything that has been done and ensure that the work was done to my satisfaction. I’d hope that either someone would walk over to the car with me or bring it to me and go through everything that has been done. Did not seem like a regular procedure at this dealership. Had this been done I could have at least shown the mud-​slide happened inside my car.
At the time of delivery I also asked the person about buying tires, rims/​wheels and a touch paint for the vehicle. He suggested that I go around the building and talk to someone from parts dept. Yet, another run around (sigh, again, should’ve/could’ve been handled better). I could write yet another paragraph about the experience I had with the employee at the parts desk instead, I’ll just say this much — she suggested me to «do some research at TireRack» (which I have already done, btw).
Someone please tell me that my experience is not a norm at this dealer!

Normally I dont bring my car to a dealer for repair because of these kinds of experiences. But I had to bring my car in on a recall on the window switch in the drivers door (armrest). There was nothing wrong with the car when I dropped it off. I picked the car up and nothing was said about any problems. The next day I opened the door and the casing to the armrest FELL OFF! I made an appointment to take it back to fix. All of a sudden now they are saying it was broken when I brought it in. That was a lie. It was fine. I assume they broke it when they took it apart. They showed me a piece of paper saying the tech wrote it down when I brought it in that it was broken. Again, no one ever mentioned this to me. They attempted to make me pay for the repairs and would not stand behind this. Needless to say the armrest is still riding around in the backseat of my car.
