My biggest mistake was going to Breuggers for a bacon, egg, and cheese. Being from Brooklyn, BECs are a staple/grail for me. I take pride in a well made breakfast sandwich. Union Street Bakery satisfies my craving for BECs. Even though it takes a 15 minute drive to get to the Public Market, it’s all worth it. The bread is made fresh every day. They don’t use some fake-ass cheap plastic bacon and they also don’t use that spongy egg. Every bite you take gives you a beautiful taste of salty bacon along with cheese and egg. It’s also very cheap! A BEC and coffee is $ 5 exactly! Union Street Bakery is my go-to for breakfast sandwiches, and it should be yours too.

Union Street Bakery is known to locals(well, just to me, but who’s counting) as USB. So if someone says they need a «USB Port», give them a sailor’s hat and bring them here. If someone asks for a «USB Cable», switch to the food network and hope that they’re doing a feature on this place. Until now, USB had been an acronym definitively for one of two things: Underwear Sniffing Boys, or Unbelievably Sexy Boobies. But that has all changed now. What go get: Breakfast sandwich with sausage, egg and cheese. What else: I want to stick my USB Cable in your USB Port. It was the«Battle Of The Brekkies» at the Rochester Pubic Markup, which I think I should stop calling the«Markup» because it’s actually not too expensive. It was Scott’s vs USB, and I was honestly expecting to like Scott’s more, but in fact it was quite the opposite. In fact, I do believe that the Union Street Bakery rivals Ohlson’s in Clarence/Williamsville(just East of Buffalo) as the single best breakfast sandwich I have ever eaten. That’s how damn amazing it is. USB = Useless Slave Boys. My gf complains about these all the time. The sausage could not be any more juicy and delicious. I don’t even like cheese, but the white cheddar on this sandwich is dreamy and works ever-so-perfectly. The bread is the typical Rochester hard roll(made by the USB, I’d assume, even though it reminds me of Martusciello’s), and is absolutely delicious. The egg might even be the star of the show, it’s so juicy and slippery and huge and tasty and hot and wet, kind of like my girl’s girl place, which is just the way I like it. USB = Unlawful Stealth B**wjob. It’s when you go south without permission, without the person even realizing it’s happening until it’s too late, I guess. All in all, this enormous monstrosity weighs in at 10lbs(well no, but it might as well), and costs you just $ 1(well actually it’s 4, but that’s basically 1 when we’re talking about a sandwich this big and this good). For this price, and this size, and especially this taste, it has to be the best deal at the market and one of the best deals in Rochester. It’s a food item that pees all over the garbage plate and should definitely be one of «the things» to try in Rochester. That’s how far ahead of its competitors it is. Not just the brekkies at Scotts, but all brekkies everywhere. It just leaves them in the dust. USB = Utah State Basketball? Well the Utah Jazz are pretty good, but I’ve never really heard of any successful college sports teams out of the Salt Lake region, so… no. If they’re really that good, then they need to Provo it on the court. They have friendly service too, not that it matters when your food tastes this good at these prices. And they served me right before closing, which I appreciated. USB = Unbelievably Sexy Barbie. This one is for a good friend of mine. Get yourself down here and try one of the breakfast sandwiches. One of the best brekkies you will ever eat. USB = United States of Banks. Because the banks, oil companies, pharmaceutical companies, food corporations and weapons dealers really own the country, don’t they? Sometimes it seems like there’s nothing we can do about it. And in those moments I recommend coming to the Rochester Pubic Markup and getting a Brekky and drowning your sorrows by wrapping your lips around the hot, juicy, sinful sausage meat, or burying your tongue in the huge, slippery, wet, scaldingly hot, delicious egg.

My favorite market stop. Can get a little hectic inside on a Saturday but it’s worth the wait and everyone is always friendly. Coffee is strong and only a buck with a free refill, doesn’t get much better– until you see the bread and pastry case, and then the raved about breakfast sandwiches and pizza! Make sure to try a quesito for dessert!

Yes I am a regular here. Yes the bread is fresh. Yes the owners introduced me to steel cut oatmeal which is ridonkulous! Yes, there apple fritters are gigantic and only 1.00usd. Yes I recommend this joint, and if you don’t like there regular, whole grain, multi grain breads, then you need to know what is good and what is sub-optimal. Yes I can vouch this place is my go to spot when I go to the public market for breakfast. Yes there breakfast sandwiches are like $ 3.50 and is huge. You go there this Saturday morning and get yourself one, your public market experience will transcend what you knew about hippie-farmer’s market co-ops. Do it, do it now!

Stopped by and got 2 breakfast sandwiches to go after walkng around Saturday morning Public market. The Rolls are so fresh and chewy and the bacon was crispy. Customer service was very nice and quick. Lost one star d/t the donuts that were on the front counter in a basket — not covered and people ordering and paying right over them — kind of a turn off on those sweets. Definetly stop by for one of the best breakast sandwiches!

Very nice selection of breads, rolls and other various bakery items. You walk in the door and the aroma of baking bread just hits you… Which is a good thing. Prices are very reasonable, and even on busy Saturday market days, the service is pleasant. Definitely worth checking out.

Awesome. I stop by every week when I am at the market, I usually go over their«day old» break rack and get something that will last the week for just a $! Sometimes they even have some goodies in there, and if your hungry. $ 3.50 gets you a breakfast sandwich or $ 1.50 will get you a bagel with cream cheese. I even heard they once did an egg danish with onion jam? I haven’t seen it yet?

A review for the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich only: this is the best breakfast sammy in Rochester. The bakery itself is pretty average; similarly the coffee is cheap but very mediocre. The heavens are singing when it comes to this breakfast sandwich, however. Don’t alter any part of it. The ratio of bread to egg to American cheese to bacon is perfect. The roll is grilled face-down crisp so that you get a reverse crunch when you bite down — soft on the outside with a fine crunch on the inside. The bacon, grilled to a crisp without sacrificing the flavor of the cured salty meat, only enhances the texture. The sandwich is on the oilier side, but damn it’s amazing. If you want to split it, they’ll cut it in half for you. It’s a curiosity I’ll tell you, how something simple can taste so damn good. And so much better than almost every other breakfast sandwich out there. For $ 3.50, you won’t be disappointed.

Coffee is amazing there-very bold and only a buck! The best part is they give free refills all day. Pastries are amazing, so many to choose from. My favorite are the quesitos, a Spanish puff pastry with sweet cheese. I always get a breakfast sandwich though first, they are the best Rochester as to offer. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Its a must to stop there every saturday morning when we go to the market. The prices are so reasonable, mostly everything is a dollar, tax already included so its simple. It gets pretty crowded, but totally worth the wait. Check them out!

Coffee wasn’t great but ham and cheese sandwich was stacked. Friends’ egg, cheese and sausage sandwiches looked amazing.
