My brothers and I have been hunting and fishing with Wayne for 15 years. Without a doubt this is the best hunting and fishing service we have ever gone out with. Wayne is extremely knowledgeable about hunting and fishing and will do whatever it takes to make your trip a success. Wayne and his wife are truly great people and awesome friends. Don’t bother looking anywhere else for a great time book your trip with Wayne.

Three generations of my family have hunted and fished with Wayne and team for the last 30 or so years. Two of my sons shot their first goose and kicked off their waterfowl hunting passion with Wayne and look forward to every hunt we book. My dad and I have hunted all over the US, Canada and Europe and Gatling Guide Service consistantly ranks top tier. Great job Wayne… thanks for making our personal /​family time that much more enjoyable.

Just got back from our second hunt with Wayne this year. Even though the birds didn’t always cooperate, Wayne worked hard to make sure we had a great hunt. My first hunt this year was my first experience waterfowling, and he did a great job making sure I learned everything I needed to know to have a great time. His blinds and decoys are top notch and he’s very easy to communicate with. He also was sure to ask if it was ok to add another hunter to our blind (we readily agreed to) but I understand, is very unusual. Usually the guide doesn’t bother to ask. We had a great hunt with Wayne and we are hoping to hunt another 1 or 2 days with him later this season.

Wayne was a great goose guide. My 16 year old Son and I went to Chestertown for a long weekend and hunted with Wayne on Monday December 29, 2014. We started out in a combo blind for Geese in the field and ducks on the pond behind us. This area is not as well known for it’s duck hunting, but since I had asked Wayne about the possibility of killing some ducks as well, he was happy to give it a try.
Wayne’s blinds are well maintained and well camouflaged. Our morning started out a little bit slow, and the birds didn’t really want to work this blind. We did drop 2 nice birds early, but then it turned off. He had another party in a pit blind about a mile away that got their limits early, so we loaded up and went to jump in that blind. Talk about a fun experience. Never been in a pit blind this nice. It didn’t take but about 30 minutes before we had the rest of our limits.
I look forward to hunting with Wayne again.

Let me start out by saying that I have been out fishing with Wayne Gatling at least 15 times. My 90 year old grandfather (who is an avid fisherman and very agile) has taken us on trips with Wayne since I was about 10 years old and goes himself at least twice a summer. Wayne has ALWAYS made sure that we have the best possible experience. Over the years there have been a few trips where it’s a really tough day hot as hell, choppy, no rock fish biting, you name it. But if you know anything at all about fishing you know that a day like that always comes around. That being said I have never stepped off his boat without something in the cooler. I can even remember a trip when I was younger where we were fishing in the POURING RAIN wearing huge oversized ponchos that Wayne had in the boat pulling in one fish after the other. This past summer I went out with Wayne twice once in June and once in August. In June with 7 people on the boat we caught our limit of really nice sized rockfish plus some beautiful blues. In August the right size rockfish just weren’t biting so instead we switched baits and caught several catfish, a whole lot of perch and 2 — 26 inch rockfish. Wayne is hardworking, has a great sense of humor and knows a lot about these waters. His mates are always nice too and some of the other guys leading charters out there used to be Wayne’s mates so if that doesn’t go to show how good he is I don’t know what does! I definitely recommend going out with him.

I have to begin by saying that this was my first experience taking customers or going on a fishing trip myself. I really had no idea of what to expect. Our experience was excellent. Wayne and his mate were very accommodating and helpful during the entire process from organizing the trip, while on the water, and cleaning the fish.
Our trip was just this week and we caught our limit in 3 hours. All very nice stripers! He told us prior to leaving the dock that the group he took out that morning had caught their limit in just under 2 hours and he wasn’t sure how we would do that afternoon. Wayne does have a fish finder, but like any sport: fishing, hunting, etc. it really can be unpredictable.
We had an awesome day and my customers loved the experience. I know a lot of other sales reps that also utilize Wayne and his expertise to take their customers out fishing. I have never heard a single complaint or bad experience about Gatling Guide Service. Keep up the good work, Wayne! See you again soon!

TLDR: We paid to catch fish, caught zero fish and got no (not even partial) refund. Do you pay for skydiving, don’t skydive and still have to pay? Fuck outta here.
Horrible experience for my family and I.
Wayne was kind enough to start. He told us about the fish radar and seemed to be in a good mood.
Several hours in, we still hadn’t caught a single fish. Are we just supposed to sit here? All of us started to feel uncomfortable.
A while later, Wayne let us know that we were headed back to dock.
The seven of us were shocked. Are you kidding? We just wasted 5 hours of our precious time, doing nothing!
Wayne yelled about his time being worth xyz. Turns out, your not paying to catch fish, your paying to have Wayne drive his boat around for a few hours… something he does in his spare time.
