Amber Buffet & Hibachi

Eat lunch at Amber and was incredibly disappointed. I passed by this place numerous times and wanted to try it out. The food was marginal at best. Definitely won’t be back again.

Just ate thankgiving dinner there. The service was courteous and the food was good. The variety was excellent. I personally like a little more spice in my hot and sour soup but other thank that, I was well pleased.

Fabulous Chinese food. Best I’ve had in awhile! The sushi is to die for! There is a huge I mean huge selection of food. Definitely worth the price. Also it’s really nice when you walk in with the coi fish pond. Yummy! We will be coming back here :)

I do like a good Chinese Buffet and this one is one to try out if you are in the neighborhood. The 2^nd place I visited while in Rock Hill, this place was recommended to me by the Instructor of the class I am taking while here. We get an hour for lunch so I thought I would swing by and give it a try.
There is a lot of items to choose from. Some of the all time favorites and some that I have never seen before. They even offer a Sushi Bar which I did not take part in but they food looked scrumptious. Feeling better then I did just 24 hours ago, I managed to throw down a plate full of their cuisine and was full when I left.
Very clean establishment and the service was very good. Would have given it 5 stars but the dessert bar was slim. Several cake items and the ice cream was not soft serve but little cups that they kept in a freezer that you had to reach into to get. All that was missing was the wooden spoon you used to get to eat those cups of Ice Cream you got while in school.
All in all a very nice dining experience and I would surely go back there again provided I have the time to do so. They also have these Coy Fish swimming around as you walk into the place which made the experience that much better and the lighting was very nicely done.

I will never go there again. Wanted crab legs but when I got there no crab legs to be found. 15 minutes later they brought out maybe 8 clusters. I took 4 for my wife and I and left the rest to another patron. After another 15 minutes I asked if more would be coming out. I was told to wait a while and there would be more. Guess what? No more came. I spent $ 35.00 for only a mediocre buffet.
I spoke to the manager and he did not care.
All he did was smile. No apology.
A rip off of. Chinese buffet. I hope people read this and never go.

The lower rating is completely about service! the guy we had barely spoke english. i couldnt understand a single word he said. we came here for my daughters birthday– they knew about it and it was ignored. did nothing special for her at all.
the waiter was an idiot– couldnt remember a single thing we asked or ordered. came back 3 times to ask us what drinks we ordered. didnt explain what dishes were that were on the buffet. most of the buffet items were less than stellar
the sushi items and fresh seafood items on ice were great. i think you might do well getting the hibachi stuff where you choose the items in your dish.
I left him about a 2% tip. because he kept rushing us like we needed to leave– so we did! I wont go back anytime soon. if i do i will make sure i dont get HIM as a server.

Wow describes this place and for the prices omg. The food and service was amazing. I didn’t use the bathrooms so I don’t know how clean they were but the rest of the restaraunt was, expecially around the food and I saw them interchanging the foods alot while being there. Definitely recommend to everybody!

A great place to eat all types of oriental food including good sushi. The owners are always there to meet the customers and they greet you as you enter the door. I enjoy coming here when I’m in the Rock Hill area. The price is little too high but worth it. I’d recommend this place to all my fellow Unilocalers and others.

Cleanliness of the restaurant is awful.
Dirt all over the window seal and food splashed everywhere.
Will not be returning.
Michelle is the only server with a personality and listens to you.

Food was good and Buffett well stocked. Hibachi as well and sushi. Would definitely come back.

The location is in a shopping mall in Rock Hill that has Macy’s. Wonderful place to be. When I walk in I was greeted immediately by staff. Since I was waiting for a few friends I was directed to the bench by the door. Great spot to see when my party arrived. When they did we were seated immediately.
What an expansive bar! There is a cold side, a hot side, a meat side, a soup side, a veggie side, a dessert side, and so many sides! There was so much food to choose from that I couldn’t choose anything at all without wanting something else! I went with the mussels and a few green beans. I was with three very cool dudes who’s been to Amber’s before so they knew exactly what they wanted and they had everything! The food smelled great and they enjoyed their fare. All of it smelled great.
The service was awesome and the unsweetened tea was deep and had body. I liked the waitress and she was amazing. Very nice service and awesome place to have lunch. You will enjoy eating at Amber’s.

As good as the new jasmine buffet. You get fresh oyster and it feels like you are sitting near the beach and its FRESH. A big plus. Not many people even at Friday night. A plus too. And they have sashimi! A third plus. I’ll definitely recommend.

This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always fresh and the service is good.

Way overpriced! 16.95 per person for dinner. All they added was some overcooked over salted crab legs. We have been coming here for quite a few years, but no more. To increase the price by $ 5.00 in a year is to much.

Went for the first time today Husband got food poisoning threw up all the way home I stayed in the bathroom for the last 4 hours will never go back atmosphere was beautiful the waiter was wonderful the food look great I don’t know what happened

I love this place!!! Best Asian buffet I’ve been to in SC. The quality of food is usually less at buffets. That is not the case at Amber. They never put out too much of any item, so it never sits there and gets stale. The food is always fresh. The quality also sets Amber apart. It’s just flat out good. The Italian chicken is my favorite item in the buffet. The hibachi is good, but they removed the steak from the selections. Cool contemporary theme. You cross a coy river and bridge to get to the dining room. Kids and parents will love this place. I stop by here every time I work in Rock Hill. You will keep eating even when full because it tastes so good!

When this place first opened I would’ve given it five stars. I think I got food poisoning last time I went here. Stomach hurt for two days. Hibachi was not even open on the weekend. I hate to give bad reviews but you’re better off going to a hole in the wall Chinese takeout. probably get the same quality food. I know it will be hotter than the lukewarm buffet served here.

Hands down, this is the best chinese buffet of all time!!! I’ve been to many chinese buffets but this place can’t compare. The interior is very nicely decorated and it doesn’t look cheap. Its also very clean. The variety in the buffet is insane. There is so much food. My favorite part is the hibachi grill and the sushi. The sushi is some of the best I’ve tried at a Chinese buffet. YOU NEED TO GO AT THE RIGHT TIME OF DAY FOR THE GOOD FOODS.

This is one of the best Chinese buffets/​restaurants that I’ve been to in a long time. I was visiting friends in the area last weekend and we went Sunday night. I loved the fish pond as you first walked in and the general décor of the restaurant. We were seated quickly and our drink orders taken just as quickly.
The buffet itself was fantastic. I’m from Rhode Island and I’ve never seen such variety on a buffet. I took a little of each of my favorites and was pleased at the quality of the food, I did try the mozzarella stick and wasn’t impressed, but out of everything that was the only thing that didn’t impress me. I’m sure children love them and that’s why they have them.
Our waitress was excellent as well, she appeared out of nowhere to refill our drinks several times, took away our plates as soon as they emptied and didn’t mind us all lingering after our meal.
The dessert section of the buffet was also fantastic, more variety than I’m used to, several kinds of cakes as well as fruits, jello, pudding and ice cream.
I was impressed with the cleanliness of this restaurant as well and plan to visit again on my next visit to the area, which can’t come to soon!

This is my place to go for buffet in this area. Yes, it is a bit of a longer drive from Charlotte, but I think it’s well worth it, considering there are plenty. I mean plenty of Chinese buffet style places around.
The prices are reasonable ~$ 11 – 12 for lunch, and it has never been too crowded. They have the typical buffet items, but the addition of a sushi station AND the Mongolian-​style grill makes it worth it. They do focus on quality as I’ve seen the lady pick off misshaped pieces and throw them away in the garbage! But on the other hand, you can tell some of the less popular dishes have been sitting out for a while (i.e. chewy or mushy).
I come here any time my parents come visit as that is our routine.
