Irish bar can not make corn beef and gabbage on St Patricks day it should shut down the kitchen

Looks like I’m not the first to complain about the service. I called in a to go order and the bartender never put it in. So I sat there with not apology only to be told the cook messed up the order. The short little manager was back with the cooks cutting up while I waited. Fact is if I was the owner I would clean house. You have a great spot and menu. BTW, the take out was below average.
Enjoy all the other great places downtown that will treat you right.

Looks like an awesome place, love the artwork and décor, But whole staff is rude. Bartender upstairs could have been a little more charismatic. Sold us what we thought was a pumpkin ale but it tasted way more like a cider. No receipt was given.

It’s sad to say that I wouldn’t be back. I have gone there for so many years people they used to know us but we noticed the change… Since then we have tried too many times and all of them were not so good. Service was ok BUT the food was cold, unflavored, forgot our appetizer and brought me water when I ordered tea.

Food was sorta decent, service was bad. They weren’t busy at all, and our waitress took forever to even take our drink order, she seemed so confused, like she had never worked there before. You work at a PUB and say you don’t drink beer or have any idea what kind of beer was on tap. That’s a problem. She was very unfamiliar with what the different burgers were and got them confused because «they all look just alike» she said.

Greatly disappointed. McHale’s said they would have upstairs open and not take reservations for the Rachel Maddow show. Except they took reservations and no one waiting for hours was allowed in. Sucks!

New management has made this place a much better time. Love the Irishman sandwich. Friendly staff. Went there for Trivia night on Sunday– lots of fun!

Least effort put into caring about customers ever experienced anywhere.
Ignored completely in an empty restaurant for a good 10 minutes. No one had the courtesy to come over to us and hand us menus or tell us that the server had been sent home for the evening. Had to go up to the bar to find that out. Ordered a peach cobbler that turned out to be a can of peaches with an undercooked piece of puff pastry on top of it. Only after we walked out of the restaurant (leaving our money on the table) did anyone care we were there as the manager chased after us thinking we hadn’t paid.
Just don’t waste your time, money, or calories on this place. They don’t deserve it.

Bartender was great. While sitting at the bar for 2 – 3 hours my group watched the kitchen manager (a well dressed man in a tie) continue to eat food off of plates that were being sent out, at one point someone ordered a fish and chips to go then he found out is was wrong and tried to send it to me 30 minutes later. I sent it back because it was cold and they gave me another one. Then they brought me yet another order and when the bartender took it back it sat in the window for 30 minutes until someone else ordered another one. When the waitress picked it up to carry it out SHE PUT HER HANDS ALL OVER THE FISH IT MAKE SURE IT WAS STILL WARM!!! ALL THE WHILE THE GUY IN THE TIE WAS STILL EATING STUFF OFF PEOPLES PLATES!!! Oh yeah the DRINK MENU on the website IS A COMPLETE LIE THEY DON’T HAVE EVEN HALF of the beer selection!!!

I love McHales! I go there all the time I can! The food is great, and the waitresses are friendly!
The reason why they are given 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the few occasions I have been there and they were out of stock if my favorite meal. They also had problems with their registers or something a few months ago. If those two were fixed, then this is a 5 star review.

We came for St. Patrick’s Day hoping to get a good Irish meal without having to cook at home and arrived around seven. It was complete chaos and after asking two waiters if there was a hostess they replied it was seat yourself that night. So after waiting about fifteen minutes my boyfriend sat down at a table that had just left and was scolded by the waitress. I explained to the waitress and the manager on duty what had happened and both were very rude and defensive denying that anyone had told me such and pointed to a list of twenty people sitting at the bar. We will not be back and the food was pathetic looking anyway.

We had no problems with wait time as we were just about the only people in the restaurant. I had a cup of Potato Soup and Shepherd’s pie. Our grandsons both had BBQ hamburgers. The Potato Soup was very good. The Shepherd’s Pie was average but the portion was not very big (for me at least). Our grandson’s said that the hamburgers were very dry and I confirmed this as they wouldn’t eat the rest of them. I did see something coming from the kitchen that looked good but I didn’t know what it was. Pictures of what they have on the menu would be very helpful.

We came for st. Party’s day and was cool they had a band there and good atmosphere. The waitress was very nice and even though busy did try to be attentive as possible. The food was just ok, I’m ok with them having a limited menu that day. I had the shepherds pie and it literally was ground hamburger with mashed potatoes on top. Really didn’t have any taste or flavor. Just wasn’t as authentic as I though for an Irish pub. My husband had the rueben and he said it was pretty good otherwise I would have given two stars. The leprechaun balls were good too, fried cheese balls. Don’t think I will return.

Awful Service they get busy on a Friday night & completely crumbled and looked like chickens with their heads cut off!!! No one has checked on our drink refills our food came 50 min after we ordered– the food was good for pub fare– but the experience was awful. If you choose to come, you’d better make sure it’s not busy– otherwise you’ll be a forgotten customer

I normally love McHales. It’s not the best pub but for Rock Hill it’s a god send. Tonight we had a few burgers and drinks which were all decent. The waitress pushed Hopsecutioner by Terrapin so I ordered a glass because the price on the board said $ 3.50. After ordering, I saw her erase the price and write $ 5.25, then suggest the beer to another table. When we got the check, we were billed $ 5.25 so I brought it to her attention. She said the price on the board was incorrect but was unapologetic and did not offer to honor the advertised price. For that price I would have ordered a better beer. As someone who works in retail, I am sorely disappointed with McHale’s customer service. What a way to ring in the new year… it leaves a bad taste

We were regulates at the McHales in Fort Mill so we decided to pop in for dinner since we were in Rock Hill. Worst service I’ve had in a long time. We waited 45 mins for burgers. When the food finally came out I asked for mayo and my husband asked for a side of blue cheese. I watched the manager walk away and move on to other tables never making an effort to get our condiments. After three or four minutes the waitress came by and asked if we needed anything. We repeated our request again I watched her move on to other things and never make an effort to get our condiments. After a total of five or six minutes we gave up and my husband walked back to the kitchen window and got it himself. If you want a beer at the bar this is the place for you. Go somewhere else if you want to sit at a table and get efficient service.

Having a mixed time right now. The 1st waitress was very attentive and personable but then she vanished for a long period of time. Went inside to ask for two beers for friends and she said Ok. Giving her the hint that we needed assistance. She sent out another waitress with the two beer. When that waitress was asked for an additional beer from another part of our party she said I’m have to get your waitress to help you. Why couldn’t she take the order? Must not want to help the business.
…an hour later to receive food. Nice. «check please»
Steven on the other hand «great job» completely apologetic and accommodated us after bringing this worry to his attention. Really, Good job.
The menus were mentioned as well. Too dark to read. He said they were changing this. Can’t wait to see the new ones.
We will return for another visit to see if things change. I will then edit this post. I moved the rating from a two to three for meeting expectations.
