Great place for great seafood! This was where my husband and I had our first date. Been going there 5 years and have a great experience every time!

Amazing!!! Hidden gem of a restaurant in small town USA. Hubby got the ribs and shrimp while I enjoyed the cherry chicken spinach linguine. Clam chowder soup was delicious. Service was excellent and restaurant was packed for Friday night. Will definitely make a return visit to this place!

Party of four went to Michael’s last week to celebrate belatedly the birthday of the OTHER guy. So when our waiter arrived to take drink orders, I told him to put the other guy’s brew on my tab and to bring the Baked Ranch Sticks app for the table. This is a «new addition» to the appetizer choices that none of us had tried to this point… so I had to see! The description on the menu does not PULLYOUIN, but it does cause you to wonder«what?» Baguettes smothered in ranch and baked with mozzarella cheese, bacon, and fried onions. I mean… can this possibly be good? Taking a bacon-fried onion leap, I sent the waiter back to put that in! When it arrived, it looked more big than scrumptious! Then passed around for sharing and tasting: ALL in the party of four WERE«oh my!» impressed! This app’s TASTE exceeds its largely ordinary appearance. I’m not even a BIGFAN of ranch although I do use it as a dip occasionally. It is never my salad dressing of choice and this app was smothered in ranch! It will be reordered next visit. We all put in our orders and spent some pleasant minutes enjoying our app, drinks, complimentary bread/butter, and conversation. Our meals arrived in a reasonable time considering that Michael’s was packed on that Friday night. Three of the meals were exactly as ordered and very nicely done… recipients were quite satisfied. I had ordered the Black Angus Sirloin… and my steak was CLEARLYNOT the BA Sirloin. Before I could hail the waiter to tell him about getting someone else’s steak, Elizabeth eased over to the table and softly said to me: «You ordered the BA Sirloin, but we were out so we upgraded you to the filet.» THAT is WHY Michael’s customers LOVE Michael & Elizabeth… and their restaurant! Anywhere else, the waiter would have returned to the table and allowed me to order something else… and IF that something else I chose had been that DELICIOUSFORK-TENDER filet, I would have PAIDSEVENMOREDOLLARS for it! The generally delicious food, good service, and effort to always please customers is the NORM at Michael’s. If that is not what you experience… and you tell them, likely the problem will be made right! There is a HUGENUMBER of «regular customers» who put Michael’s at the top of their short list of choices when planning to dine out… that is in spite of the beach décor that I see has recently been a riveting annoyance of a reviewer! NOONE really cares about the beach décor… SC is a beach state! beach mentality! shabby chic! so what! Good food, good service, &CLEAN restaurant! Who could ask for anything more? Oh, BTW… Michael’s is a little noisy Friday & Saturday nights when crowds(reservation is advisable) are there enjoying themselves! Lunch is also quite well done, good value, and quieter. Sunday brunch(make a reservation) is usually a crowd, and there is something for everyone. IF you are lucky, there is left-over prime rib… just awaiting you as a great value steak & eggs special! If not, the Benedict Arnold will delight a big appetite… or get the B.E.L.T. and enjoy SEEING so much bacon in your sandwich. BUT if you put it down, you may have to finish it with a fork. Did I say… Michael’s is a favorite of mine?

I had the ribs there and it was delicious! The meat falls off the bones and was so tender and melts in your mouth! Definitely would recommend it. The coleslaw was one of the best I had too. Price and fair and atmosphere was good too. Service also friendly and fast.

Some of the best food we have ever eaten! The clam chowder is full of big chunks of potatoes and clams, maybe bacon… the favors are marvelous, definitely he best clam chowder we have EVER had. I ordered the spinach salad which came with hard boiled egg slices, large slices of fresh mushrooms, sliced almonds… really fresh and absolutely delicious. My husband had the Reuben sandwich which was piping hot and loaded with corned beef and cheese on toasted rye bread. It came with a side of fresh made crispy potato chips that were lovely! This was a great experience and we will be coming back here for another fine meal. Service was excellent and the prices were very reasonable.

What a great experience. My wife and i recently dined here and will be back for sure. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Each member of the staff welcomed us when walking by as we entered the door. They did a great job with team service. The food was excellent. My wife had the black and bleu tuna which was cooked perfectly. I tried the mixed seafood sampler with salmon, potato crusted grouper and shrimp tempura. Each of them was delicious, but the grouper was out of this world good.

Let me get the bad stuff out of the way so that I can end on a high note. The fella and I dropped in on a Wednesday night, and we hoped to sit outside on the cute patio with umbrella tables, but the mosquitoes were out in full force, so we had to move inside. I’m not usually someone who’s distracted by atmosphere, but oy. The inside of Michael’s is straight out of 1984. The walls are painted either aqua or fuschia, and there are numerous fake plants. I felt like I was in an episode of Miami Vice. But I think they wanted me to feel like I was at the beach? Onward and upward! Our server was really nice and patient with our move and my tricky ordering — not quite Meg Ryan in «When Harry Met Sally,» but still worthy of an eye-roll, which he didn’t give me! I got the Hazelnut Almond Chicken salad($ 11.99), which was actually pretty inventive and different… and tasty. The fella got the Fish Filet sandwich($ 7.99), which he said wasn’t the best fish sammich he’d ever had, but it wasn’t the worst. Throw in a few glasses of wine and a tip, and it was $ 50 — not too shabby.

Just a truly great restaurant. I have nothing bad to say. Everything there is done with excellence and creativity. I would even go so far as to say it’s probably the best restaurant in York County.

This is Rock Hill’s little gem. THE dish to order is the chicken with pasta and cherry cream sauce. I recommend any of the pasta dishes, and based on my experiences would recommend you order pasta dishes and/or chicken or seafood. My wife really liked the prime rib(Friday and Saturday only), but my experience with the ribeye left me a little disappointed. It was cooked to medium rare exactly as ordered, but it had little flavor. I don’t think it was even seasoned with salt and pepper, and the meat did not pick up any char flavor during cooking. Be sure to get the fried asparagus appetizer. The salad dressings are almost all house-made. Very modest wine list won’t break the bank. Well worth the visit if in the area — especially for that cherry cream sauce.

Wow! If I could give more stars, I would. The food had such flavor and character that we(my guest and I) actually had to stop talking because we were so taken aback by how delicious each bite was! This is the quality of cuisine I would expect in a Five star restaurant with the high-profile chefs! Exceeded expectations and then some! Don’t miss the opportunity to eat here!

My family and I started dining at Michael’s within weeks of them opening. We frequented the restaurant quite a bit when they first opened wanting to try different dishes as every one we had ordered was always delicious. After a few weeks, we were discussing at the table how much we loved the food but the service left little to be desired and decided we probably would not be returning. Elizabeth, one of their owners, came over to our table and said she noticed we had been in several times and thanked us for our business as they were starting up; we explained to her our concerns and that we weren’t sure if we would be back, she apologized repeatedly and asked we give them another try after they were about to do an in-depth training with their staff, we agreed. A couple weeks later, we returned. The staff was prompt and efficient, our drinks never ran dry and the food was as good as it had previously been. Mind you, that was seven years ago. Elizabeth continues to greet us every time we are in the restaurant when she is there, she continues to ask for and values our opinions and she is overall a very nice lady who has become a friend. Even when Elizabeth is not there, our service is excellent and far from what it was and our meals are always delicious and cooked to order. Whenever someone asks for a dining recommendation or we are hosting guests from out of town, Michael’s is always first on our mind. The menu has a wide variety of delicious options sure to please everyone, the atmosphere can either be a quite, romantic date night, a birthday celebration, a casual family dinner or whatever you want to make it. This is a great local eatery with FRESH food choices, some thing that is not always easy to find around here. Whether you want a couple appetizers(Baked Ranch Sticks and Spinach & Artichoke Dip), a light salad(Michigan Bounty Salad with blackened chicken), a flavorful pasta dish(Cherry Chicken Pasta), a fresh catch(Potato Encrusted Grouper) or a twist on chicken(Lemon Chicken Piccata), Michael’s is sure to satisfy!

Wow, the Ranch Breadstick app was phenomenal! Probably one of the best Ribeyes I have ever had. Was so delicious. Service was great. Its a smaller place but should not be missed if you enjoy good food. My husband and I love trying new places and enjoying great food and this was a great experience.
