I have known Robin for years, keeping personal feelings aside, I absolutely adore this salon as well as Robin as a stylist. In the last seven years I have known her, I have never been able to get in her chair, she has always had quite a clientele built up and our schedules never matched. I was able to sneak in with her today at 7AM! While it was super early, I am glad I went.(BTW, she has a Keurig, it became my best friend at that hour.) I arrived with my mom, she was getting her hair colored, I was just getting a cut and style. She started my mom and took her time giving her the color she wanted, while her hair was processing, I snuck into the chair. I had sent Robin a bunch of pictures of what I liked and wanted and let her have at it. I am the type that says one bad mistake and I’m not worried, it’s hair, it grows back and mine grows fast. I explained to her I started being a little more cautious with telling stylists that as one had taken it as a free for all to give me bangs — I had not had bangs in 20 years and ALWAYS say that I want to be able to pull my bangs back for when I workout. Of course, Robin was upset someone had done that and understood my concerns. I also had requested my hair be thinned out a bit as I my hair is rather thick and, for the first time in four years that I actually requested that, she actually did it and didn’t just use the excuse that my layers would thin it out! FINALLY! SOMEONEWHOLISTENS! She continued to style my hair and, while it did not match the pictures I sent her exactly, it went in the direction of what I wanted and it went with what suited me perfectly. My mom, of course, loved her color, cut and style as well(she has been able to get in Robin’s chair for the last few years). Even though she had both of us going at once, I did not feel rushed or as though she skipped out on any steps to giving us both what we wanted. If you want a great, local stylist and salon with a contemporary southern charm, I highly recommend going to Robin’s Nest. If you cannot get in with Robin, go see Erica. I asked Robin if I was unable to get in with her if she would be a suitable replacement and she said yes, they are very much alike and she would not let someone work there who she would not trust to take her overflow.
