Atlante Trattoria

Friendly service. Ordered the Greek Salad that included a couple of pieces of lunch meat rolled up and cut into four chunks, then placed on top of the lettuce. Very disappointing.
Was much better when I ate here last year while in town for business.

Only open early but a GREAT spot for lunch in downtown Rock Island. From grilled cheese to soup to lasagna, the menu is good. It’s affordable, too. Quick business lunch or a break from the shopping, don’t miss Atlante!

Had a Mediterranean Salad and a cup of Potato Chowder. The salad wasn’t that good — skimpy wedge tomatoes, seemingly old hummus, and doused in balsamic with a little pesto and mushrooms (which didn’t seem to fit with the dish). The chowder was okay but seemed like it had been sitting for a while. Not impressed.

This is one of my absolute favorite quad city places. The staff is friendly and remembers your name and is all one big family. The specials are good, but simple. The family also runs Jake-O’s on Blackhawk road. (Formerly omelia’s) I’m not a sushi person, but many of my friends come here time and again for the sushi. My personal favorite is the gumbo. Everyone also speaks highly of their signature potato salad. They’re only open during lunchtime for businesses, but are well worth a stop.

Don’t waste your time. I had friends that recommended this place for their sushi so I wanted to try it since I love sushi and I like supporting local establishments. I now question my friends’ taste buds entirely. Between my friend and I, we ordered four sushi rolls, not only did we have to change our order because they no longer have eel (even though it’s still on the menu), they got three out of our four rolls WRONG. We still ate the rolls because we had already been waiting for a long time, but that’s not even the worst part. The worst part is that the woman bringing us our order asked the man who made the rolls, «which one is the Atlante Roll?» He said, «there wasn’t an Atlante Roll.» Then looked down at our order and said, «Whoops, there was an Atlante Roll.» Then just shrugged it off and she brought us our rolls knowing that the order was wrong. Not knowing that I overheard their conversation, I asked her which roll was which. Then she tried to tell me that both rolls were the Spicy Tuna Roll (which was the other roll I ordered) even though neither one was clearly a Spicy Tuna Roll nor looked anything alike. My friend ordered a Spicy Crab Roll and instead they actually gave her the Spicy Tuna Roll. After all this poor service, the rolls and wasabi were still terrible. I understand most consumers probably go here for their sandwiches, soups, and salads; but don’t serve sushi if you can’t get the order right and your product is less than par. Unfortunately, I won’t go back to try anything else on their menu. It’s one thing to mess up an order by accident, but recognizing that you messed up and then shrugging it off like it’s no big deal and serving the wrong order to the customer anyway is just poor business.

Eat here at least 3 times per week. Waitstaff are always friendly. Food is always fresh, tasty, and affordable.

Was greeted and treated rudely by staff who refused to let me into the restroom without purchasing something first. I would not recommend this restaurant. Does not deserve any stars

The District in Rock Island has no shortage of good choice for lunch and Atlante Trattoria is one of the best. You can get a freshly prepared, light meal like a sandwich, soup, or salad for a reasonable price (about $ 6).

Some weeks, I went to this restaurant every day for lunch.
It was close to work AND it was good. I’d usually get a BLT sandwich. Their potato chowder was tasty, thick and hearty with smoked bacon. Their pastries are delicious.
