Horrible service. I ordered a pizza with banana peppers after they confirmed they had. Pizza comes with hot peppers instead. I called to complain and the person who answered stalled, ask someone in the back, then just hung up on me. I called back several times and they didn’t answer. I called using my friends phone and they answered right away. When I complained again about the hot peppers they hung up on me. In response to Francesco’s comment: This review is based off an order some time ago. I haven’t ordered from there recently because of the poor service and how I was treated. I found a much better tasting, customer service friendly pizzeria. Instead of wasting time going thru your advance caller ID, maybe you should educate whoever is answering the phone on how to deal with mistakes and customer service. Any where you go, people always ask for stuff that’s not on the menu just in case it’s possible. Well-run restaurants will have all their employees on the same page and knowledgeable. In this case, knowing all types of peppers available and not available. If you only have two, then if the person taking the order doesn’t hear those specific two, the answer should be — sorry we only have X and Y peppers. Regardless of weather it was on the menu or not, being purposely ignored and hung up on by the phone person is beyond ridiculous. Your pizzeria didn’t want to deal with fixing their mistake and just decided it was better to hang up and ignore the problem. Thanks Francesco, but Sorry I will never order from there again.

I’m only giving 3 stars because we’ve ordered the pasta dishes in the past and they were very good. However, in recent months the quality of all food seems to be going downhill. Tonight we ordered pizza and it was very disappointing… undercooked, bland, and it just seems like they are using poor quality dough. Our delivery arrived very quickly but then again we are only about 5 minutes away and a pizza delivery from a pizzeria should always be very quick… also, I would have gladly waited longer if it meant our pizza would be cooked more thoroughly. I don’t think we’ll be ordering pizza from here again, unless major changes are made to the process. But we may consider ordering other dishes since, as I said, they have been good in the past.

The buffalo chicken pizza I ordered was heavy on the sauce and the chicken. I wondered if they forgot the cheese, but it was layered underneath. The sauce was medium spicy and kind of sloppily on top. It tasted a little BBQ-y vs. classic buffalo sauce, but it was good. I also ordered garlic knots which were decent. This is one of the better places to order pizza delivery in Rockaway. If I had the energy for pick up, I might have made a different decision but I’m pretty happy with the pizza. Ask for blue cheese on the side. There’s none on the pie.

If I could give negative stars I would, but that’s not an option, so 1* it is. I’ve been ordering from master pizza of Rockaway for about a year now(we’ve used both their phone and online ordering, the latter of which still requires them to manually input the order into their system, so errors occur anyway). The first time we ordered everything arrived quickly and was pretty decent(not the best pizza I’ve had, but the small pizzas had the perfect slice sizes for my toddlers, as well as the thin crust). Over the past few months it appears that the quality, including the service, has been severely lacking. My husband is out of town and I threw out my back, so cooking was not an option tonight… Late pizza night. Placed the order at 8:13, they told me 40 minutes, it arrived after 75 minutes, which is completely unacceptable. Not only did I not receive a call that our order would be late, but upon calling them there was no apology for the delay and the driver, when she arrived, was pretty half-assed about her apology too. In addition to this our pizza was only luke warm(at best). To say I’m disappointed is an understatement, I will no longer be ordering from them.

This is in response to the owners reply to my review posted on 4⁄19: Thanks for the response to my review but after spending $ 32.00 for 1 meal I think you missed the opportunity to do the right thing by your explanation. If I had been sitting in your dining room and you served me those dishes… well, lets just say I hope that you would know to do better than just apologize and explain.

When the pizza is good here, it’s very good, but when it’s bad, it’s awful. And lately, their pizza game has not been good. On two occasions the sauce was so sweet I could barely finish a slice. That lack of consistency makes a trip here a crapshoot. ETA: My wife reminds me that we’ve also had them deliver pizza about 3 times. With one exception, the pizza has arrived almost cold. Not good. Rating has been revised to reflect same.

After having ordered several more times since my poor experience on Halloween ’14, I can say that the delivery service has been very good. I appreciated the owner reaching out to me to make things right. I’m back to being a happy camper w/Master Pizza.

Asked for grilled salmon with the sauce on the side. The salmon is in there somewhere. Pizza slices were cold. Bread was ok. Chicken Parmesan tasted old. Pasta was mushy.

Delivery order 7÷19÷14 I ordered a gyro… no tsaki sauce, the flatbread was wet & mushy, lettuce was brown, meat tasted expired. The chicken wings… I asked for«mild», they were coated in ketchup. Antipasto — it looked delicious… till I saw about 15 fruit gnats flying around in it, under the sealed cover. Gross. Never again!

I wanted to give them 5 stars because the food is REALLY good. Definitely one of my favorite pizza places near work and they deliver to the rockaway mall, so it’s a nice option at work. You can also order online which is a huge plus for me, and a lot of why I picked this place to order from to start with. I’ve ordered on a weekly basis for a few weeks, and the first few times was great, although they couldn’t find my store, which is understandable as we’re quite small and sandwiched between other stores. Last time I ordered my order was nearly an hour late because the driver got into an accident. The store called me and let me know, but did not offer anything extra and did not include anything extra for my inconvenience. I did not ask, though. I thought they might toss in a free order of garlic knots but I guess I thought wrong. I ordered again today, and had ordered online before leaving for work. I had my order set for 1:15, 15 minutes after my store opens. The guy is standing in front of the door at 12:50, and about to leave because I hadn’t run to the door fast enough. I was ready to open but he was so early, and normally I wouldn’t complain about it being early but my pizza and garlic knots were only luke-warm by the time I got them. Like, they must have made my order at 12pm when I ordered it and just let it sit till they send out the kid for delivery. Especially since he was so early. I’d already committed to giving a tip online but I may have to stop pre-tipping because the drivers are a little dense. On the flip side, the garlic knots are usually great, and the pizzas are good. I usually get a white pizza but I ordered a different one today and was happy with it. They don’t re-heat too well because the crust gets dried out and chewy, but that’s not really a fault of theirs, that’s just pizza. I do recommend it, but maybe picking it up would be easier. Edit on 9÷17÷14: been ordering from them fairly regularly and they seemed to have found a driver or two that can find me, so I’m much happier all around. I have been ordering their calamari appetizer lately and it’s always really good! Good portion too. Pleased with Master Pizza in general despite some minor delivery inconveniences over the months. Definitely recommend them.

Stopped in here on the way home from my daughter’s softball practice because she was«starving» and wanted chicken parm and pasta. I really didn’t want to drive all the way over to our normal pizza place and Master Pizza was on the way so it was going to have to be good enough. I stepped inside and the place is pretty small-very small dining room area, like 5 – 6 small tables. There was a guy behind the counter, who I assume was the owner, who greeted me pleasantly when I walked in and who took my order. He was making some great looking pizza, but I didn’t deviate from the plan for the evening and stuck with my daughter’s chicken parm. When we got it home I couldn’t believe how big a portion she got and I loved that they packaged the pasta separately — a very nice touch. My daughter LOVED the chicken parm and hammered most of it(that girl can eat after practice). I’m only giving Master Pizza three stars right now because I want to try their pizza before dropping a fourth star on them(Can’t really give a pizza place 4-stars without actually EATING their pizza). I’ll be back here soon to give them that shot…

Ordered online — that always gives a business a leg up in my book, I love ordering online. Delivered right to my door exactly when they said it would be — definitely a good thing. Hot food was hot, cold food was cold, everything was delicious! They have a fantastic seleciton of artisan, handcrafted pizzas in such an amazing variety. Everything looks so great — I can’t wait to order again :)
