A little dark interior and a bit pricy. BUT, the food was exactly what our family expected!

1 st time here and was skeptical on trying something i did not know so i ordered the appetizer sampler and was fantastic … Very good… Springrolls are awsome and fresh and also had the combo fried rice which is a huge portion … Service was slow but if in a hurry order before i suppose .’ It was very clean but in a bad part of my hometown very worth it … will be back very soon to try the phở

Best Phở Soup in town. Small family business that is in the heart of one of Rockford’s oldest neighborhoods. Décor is restaurant is dated but best Vietnamese food in town.

Hole in the wall place with delicious phở. Our kind of place. The spring roles are gigantic. I’m used to rolls with two shrimp and a slice of pork. These had three shrimp and no pork. They were fantastic. The phở comes in two sizes which I appreciate. The seafood phở has squid.

I almost gave up on Authentic Asian food in Rockford until I ate here. So glad Rockford has a decent Asian restaurant like this.

Amazing food and staff! The owner is always there and personally serves the food, which is so good! Everything is fresh from the seafood to the veggies, and the owner always welcomes our business by letting us come in after they are closed. An awesome place to eat with excellent customer service! Get the number 28! Its the best thing on the menu!

Walked in the door after seeing good reviews for some take out. Walked in the door into a dark room with a big cloudy fish tank standing in front of me. Gross! A man was mopping the floor with filthy water that stunk. Bigger gross! I asked if they were actually open. The man said«yes, what you want?» Very rude! Lol. I said«take out phở», and he handed me a menu and walked away. I nearly left at that point. However, after glancing at the menu, I decided on the chicken phở. Said rude man took my order and disappeared(to make my meal… I hope he washed his hands), and came back some time later with a bag he handed to me and walked away. Oh boy!!! Ran out to my ambulance and opened the package, and to my delight was a clean, fresh, clear and tastefully delicious chicken phở that I enjoyed immensely. I will never eat at this place, but I will definitely be back for more takeout, and maybe Mr. Happy will be in a better mood. Well worth the wait and rude service. LOL

This was a decent food joint but ambiance is not good. The neighborhood doesn’t seem so hot either. I would try a different dish if I come back. We shared a clay pot chicken w garlic and lemongrass stir fry. They were missing something but I can’t say what. I agree w other reviews that the place needs a good cleaning.

When I want southeast Asian, I come here. The other places in town just don’t have the ambiance and selection and quality of food. The neighborhood is a bit hit or miss, but this place is always a hit with me. Four stars because the décor is a bit run down, but I also want to give five stars because the décor is a bit run down. And I love it!

I love this place, the haters can go eat at Bamboo or Phở Square.(Both are also yummy but this place is legit) Slow service but the food is excellently priced and well worth the wait. Only had beef phở and springrolls, maybe the egg rolls long ago. Yum yummy yum, now I wish they were open right now this late so I could get some.

Very delicious phở and amazing egg rolls. Casual atmosphere, tiny little place that we missed the first time we drove by. Bill was about $ 25 for two of us and we both brought home leftovers. Service was a little slow, but very friendly staff.

Amazing and authentic. We had the phở and the sampler plate. The phở was delicious and the egg rolls were the best I have tasted. And the chicken and shrimp had a fantastic sauce. Prices are great. Phở dishes were around $ 7. Even though it’s a 45 minute drive, we will definitely be coming back!

The price is a bit pricey(normal phở is $ 7.59). Good service. Clean. Professional. The food is awesome !! Phở is the best here !

We tried this last week while we were off for break. We had a late lunch and I was worried as we were the only people in the joint. However, the beef and meatball phở was outstanding. We loved it! The sauces they brought out were good. The atmosphere is a little lacking. If you’re looking for fancy this is not the place. If you’re looking for good food I would give it a try.

Well, I read the reviews and thought mmmmm should I go in??? Yup the adventurous me went and I am glad I did. The people who worked there were so friendly! The phở was out of this world, really homemade broth. The pork chop and rice were to die for. The service was excellent and I will go back again and again! I was impressed that the pictures on the menu looked just like the dishes. How offen does that happen! Do not the the surrounding areas scare you! The place is really great. The decore is very updated and again service was wonderful! They were greatful we stopped in for a bite to eat! Will be my Sunday bowl of Phở!!!

I haven’t been here for maybe 5 years? But I wanted to try it again. I remember having the best phở here. The others have the looks of the place. We ordered the Vietnamese crêpe to split. It was a litte greasy, but still tasty. I ordered the combo meal, with a pork chop, chinese sausage(two types), egg with 3 shrimp, rice, salad, and pork skin. It was excellent. The pork chop had a yummy marinate on it, and it was tender with a great sear crust on the outside. Both sausages were tasty. Even the egg was good and fluffy. I wasn’t a fan of the pork skin. The meal was missing a bowl of broth and pickled veg. My mom ordered the rice noodles, crispy with beef. It was top notch. The noodles(like chow fun size) were excellent with a nice crisp layer, lots of veg, thinly sliced beef, and a sweet gravy. I would order this myself. I will be back! Don’t be snob, because I wouldn’t like you, and you won’t get this place.

The vermicelli bowls are deee-lish. It’s like phở but without the broth, and served cool/room-temp with lettuce and grilled meat, kinda like a salad. In this updated review, I’m only giving the restaurant four stars because the banh xeo came out a little mushier than it did before. The spring rolls are a never-fail though. Mmmmm. In regards to the décor: yes, sometimes people are smoking in the back, and maybe it’s a little«grittier» than Kuma’s or Lung Fung etc, but I think that adds to the appeal of the restaurant. It’s an authentic feel of Vietnam in taste and aesthetics.
