Marc’s Fusion Cafe

Fusion focused on Japanese food. Excellent price and great flavors. Today I eat the smoked salmon, garlic chicken, seared scallops and a small set of sushi. Everything was delicious. This is a very small restaurant but with a nice atmosphere.

Until today, I LOVED Marc’s Fusion. We ordered dinner to go, my husband went to pick it up, came home, and what he’d picked up was not our order… at all. So, my husband called and explained our situation. The girl who answered the phone seemed completely confused. She claimed that they never received our order, re-​took the order, then told us to bring the incorrect food we received back. Ok. Mistakes happen, no big deal. My husband went back, they said they had 2 orders under the same name… hmm…so then the person on the phone flat out lied when she said they never received our order? How can you have 2 orders under the same name but not have received one of them? And why in the world would you give food to someone who had apparently «never» ordered it? Luckily, my husband was listening closely when they read the order back to him while he was there the second time because they almost messed it up again! The only compensation we got for this entire ordeal and inconvenience was an «I’m sorry». Terrible customer service, in our opinions. Unfortunately, due to this frustrating experience, we will be taking our business elsewhere. It’s sad… Marc’s sushi is amazing. Too bad the customer service isn’t the same.

Great sushi spot. I loved the food. It was delicious and fresh. The sushi is definitely on par with other sushi places in Chicago. The ambience was very lively. Came here on a Friday night. The place was packed. But I enjoyed it. Got to sit at the counter and enjoyed a delicious cocktail with my meal. Service was great. Waitress was attentive. Definitely coming back here again. So glad to have found this place in Rockford.

My colleague and I found Marc’s on Unilocal and decided to give it a try and it was the best decision we made. The food was amazing, the staff was great, and the atmosphere was a ton of fun. We will definitely be coming back to Marc’s every time we visit Rockford. The sushi is better than many of the places that I frequent in Chicago.

Sitting here on a Tuesday night WAITING for a waitress to bother to come by and check on us. Not busy at all! We usually order a roll and a few pieces of sushi and wait a while and order another roll or more sushi. We just got tired of waiting for her to ask what else we wanted so we left and decided to go to Shoguns for the rest of our meal.

Great food and very thick sushi rolls but kinda pricey for such a small place. They can’t hold more then 30ish people at one time. When I went they were extremely busy. Every seat was filled with only about 35 seats all filled including bar. I still prefer spider over here but if I want sushi and am on that side of Rockford I would stop again.

Excellent food! Prepared and plates awesomely. We loved it and quill definitely be one that we go back to again.

My husband and I had dinner last night. He had the tuna kabobs and I had Jims fusion which is chicken, beef and shrimp served on top of fried rice. Service was excellent and the food was pipenly hot DELICIOUS! Shumai as an appetizer was also wonderful. Highly recommend — not really suitable for little kids just FYI.

My husband and I are new to the Rockford area. I had a taste to try out some Sushi. My husband was informed about this spot from a close friend. When I say that this was an amazing experience and worth every penny I mean that. Mind you my husband is a very picky individual and he LOVE it. The owner Mark was amazing. The wait for the food was little to none. The waitresses were very helper towards us. They gave us a lot of tips on which rolls to try. I will say this will not be our last visit. We will return

It has been a long time since I have written an update about Marc’s and yet we have been here several times since my last review.
Consistency in regard to the non-​sushi options have improved. Steaks are coming out to temp, salads are more consistent and service has improved considerably.
Our newest favorite is the crab Rangoon… served only on Saturdays… and so phenomenal… my mouth is watering just thinking about this dish now. Not only the best Rangoon in Rockford, but the best I have ever had anywhere… and when it is gone, it is gone… so get there early and eat it up quickly!
It seems that they have had some staff training issues… the last 2 times that we have been there we have had to ask our server to add high price items to our check that were forgotten… mainly sushi items. This past Tuesday for a quick lunch $ 17 worth of sushi was left off of our bill. We asked her to add it before running our card, but this was not the first time.
Also, it seems that now that some of the staff has changed the service has been dramatically improved.

Out of all the other places, this place has the freshest fish! Everything we ever get is amazing!

We go here often and it has ALWAYS been excellent! Even when we get our order to go they are always spot on! The staff is so nice and the sushi is absolutely wonderful!

We went for lunch today and it was amazing!!! The food was great the service was fast and we will be back!!!

The sushi is really good, but you absolutely cannot leave without experiencing the prawn and crab cakes appetizer. It is the best thing you will ever put in your mouth.

Absolutely delicious. What a fantastic experience. Service was prompt and staff were attentive to details and very friendly, even when we needed to flag one of them down.
Ordered an appetizer of fried calamari. The sauce provided had a rich, spicy flavor that complemented the texture of the calamari.
The sushi itself… all I can say is wow. I ordered the «Marc’s Fusion Roll» which had a terrific flavor. The ingredients were fresh and served below room temperature, which is an important characteristic for good sushi. The portions were huge too, 10 pieces per order! I could barely finish it, but this sushi is too good to be eaten later.
Overall a great experience, one I hope to enjoy again. Easily one of the top sushi places in Rockford.

Wow! Went here with the wife and had a wonderful meal. Very tasty sushi and my main course of scallops were tremendous. My wife had the fried rice and chicken that had a very unusual seasoning that both of us never had but we liked it a lot.
The service could have been a touch better considering there are only 10 tables in the entire place.
Non the less I look forward to going back.

Had the pork chops and they were great. Others had sushi and it was fresh and delicious. The martini selection is great.

Bomb restaurant. Marc’s fusion roll And dragon roll were sooo good. Had the filet after the rolls. It was amazing. Definitely will be going back !

First off, you can’t fuck with Marc. The dude drinks molson ices and rolls the fattest sushi rolls ever. Think you can take Marc out? You can’t. His meat skewers will put your ass to bed. And the crab ragoon? Forget about it. It’s like a tidal wave of creamy goodness, spurted into your mouth at just the right moment. The fried rice is pimp. The seaweed salad is pimp. Order what you want and Marc’s women will make sure your stomach gets packed up right. The place is small, smaller than your mothers basement. So be prepared to stand there looking dumb until a table opens up. You’ll be cracking jokes and scanning the menu in no time. The service is damn quick and the wait staff is no joke. Leave a good tip and they might give you an ice cream taco.
