Rockford is fortunate to have such a skilled dermatologist. Obviously the earlier reviewer had some personal conflict with the physician. I’ve had good experiences all around. I drive 70 miles and take a day off work to treat with this physician when I have access to university dermatologists a block away. Dr. Revis is smart, careful and correct. I’ve been seeing dermatologists since high school for a chronic skin condition and had all kinds of wacky treatments from other derms in Rockford before finally finding Dr. Revis. I’ve had multiple procedures performed and never been left with any appreciable scar. He is cautious and spends more time thinking than talking which is fine with me as long as that means good care. He is conservative with medication, which I appreciate, yer prescribes it when needed. My only complaint is that he is almost always running late, sometimes very late. On the other hand I’ve been squeezed in for an urgent concern so maybe that’s part of it. Anyway this is the first physician I’ve reviewed on here, but when I discovered the poor review while searching for Dr. Revis’s phone number, I felt compelled to provide my feedback.

I have had several unpleasant experiences with Dr. Revis over the past eight years that have finally convinced me to take my business elesewhere. In short, every single time he has touched me with a scalpel, it has resulted in ugly scars that were worse than the original condition, bleeding that wouldn’t stop for hours, or other nasty side-effects. In addition, his«bedside manner» is nearly non-existent, to the point where his nurses are his spokespeople/translators, providing helpful comments and suggestions while Dr. Slasher goes about his tasks with the minimal amount of interaction with the patients he can muster. On the last visit, he biopsied a section of my skin. It’s a simple job, but he messed it up by applying the numbing agent, then almost IMMEDIATELY cutting into my skin before the stuff had fully taken effect. I felt the knife being inserted in every sharp detail. He seemed to care about the tears in my eyes about as much as he would care about slicing up a plastic practice-dummy. I am no dummy. Which is why I am moving along to a new dematologist. I will miss his nice nurses and office assistants. They have elevated his score from one to two stars.
