I’m at the mall with the family and we need to eat. We head into the food court. My wife and son know exactly what they want, I on the other hand am not sure. That choice is made more difficult because every restaurant there has someone standing out front handing out samples. This must be a newer trend because I don’t remember it being this way as a kid. After making my way through all the employees from various places trying to shove a sample of their food down my gullet, I decided that the bourbon chicken that was forced upon me was all kinds of okay. I placed my order, got my food and fought my way through the teenagers to find a table with my family. Look, it is mall food. It’s not great. Heck, I’m not even sure it’s actually Thai food, because it resembled nothing of Thai food that I’m familiar with. Doesn’t really matter, it’s the mall and I’m hungry. I ate it and it was filling. I thought it was pretty good. I wouldn’t say it was the best thing I’ve had, or even that it was in the top half of Food Court food. I will say that it fulfilled its purpose. You could do worse. Just remember, it’s not fine dining. If you want fine dining, do not eat at the mall.
