My first exam and cleaning were ok… cleaning not as thorough as another dentist in Rockford… but Dr. Dater accepted my Healthy Michigan insurance. He convinced me I needed a crown, quoted me a price and said insurance would not cover it. I paid, but subsequently got a substantial refund from his office. When I called to inquire why the refund, I was told insurance was BILLED BY MISTAKE and he was forced to take a write off. So Dr. Dater would have never told me I was entitled to a discount except someone in his office messed up. I had another appointment for check up and cleaning 6 months later, and at the last minute his office called to say they no longer take Healthy Michigan insurance. Money hungry and greedy… and I see he and staff took cruise to Bahamas. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRACTICE.
