We were passing through Rockingham and stopped at Fatz for lunch. The restaurant was very clean. Great menu options. The blackened tilapia with salsa on the lunch menu was excellent. The service was very good and the prices were reasonable.

First time in Rockingham, NC. Restaurant was close by hotel. Very clean place. Sat at the bar for MNF. Shannon at the bar was great! Beer was cold and fresh! Just had a great time! Ordered the Cajun Chicken Pasta to go. Really enjoyed the meal. I would definitely go back! Thank you to the team at Fatz Rockingham!

Slow service but friendly. It took too long considering we we’re basically the only ones in there. The sirloin was very good as were the mash potatoes & asparagus. Love the poppyseed rolls & cinnamon butter.

I go to Fatz whenever I’m in Rockingham. The only issue they have is they typically are out of many items on Sunday as their delivery truck comes on Monday. Be prepared not to have what you want from the menu on Sunday. The staff is always friendly and the food is good.

I grew up in the area and if you’re here visiting then this about as good as it gets for the area. If you’ve never eaten at Fatz Café then it’s kind of like a mix of Applebee’s and TGIFriday’s. They have a relatively large menu and the food is usually pretty good.

Very enjoyable experience. Especially loved the Fried Green Tomatoes, the Cajun Firecracker Sticks, the Calabash Chicken Salad, and the Carolina Cobbler. Our server Westley was very attentive and friendly and the manager Christine ensured that we had a good time. Lots and lots of yummy items on the menu to choose from.

I was hoping to give a good revised review with our latest visit. We visited for dinner 12÷23÷13. Upon arrival a guest was loudly complaining to the hostess he had asked his waiter for the check 2 times and he wasn’t going to ask a third time. The service was slow again. One thing my wife picked up on most of the plates had big old chips in them. They can’t afford to replace them as they get chipped? I mean every plate they brought us was chipped. The food took 45 minutes to arrive. Our waitress kept coming over and saying your food should be right up. Front of the house manager never came around to check on our experience. We asked for a manager but she couldn’t be bothered to spend 5 minutes talking to us. Wife’s pasta dish was stone cold and bland. My burger was a grease burger. Frozen fries were under cooked. Pretty damn lousy experience. Oh and on the way out the lobby is full but the restaurant is empty. Looks like this place is at the old game of making people wait to be seated because the kitchen can’t keep up. Steer clear, go to McDonalds instead. You will receive a better meal.

This is a chain restaurant that has a similar quality of food as an Applebee’s, but with a much smaller menu. This particular franchise is no exception. The staff was friendly, the tables were clean, but more importantly is that this may be one of the few restaurants in town that isn’t fast food.

I avoid chains as much as possible but when the local place I wanted to go to turned out to be out of business, I decided to stop here. The best part of the dinner was that the waitress sat down and had a chit chat with me(after refilling my sweet tea and getting my food of course). She took the time to give me great recommendations, told me places and things to do, and just welcomed me. I loved it! At her recommendation, I ordered several appetizers instead of a meal so I could try the best of the southern dishes. I started with fried green tomatoes. Theres are served over grits and sprinkled with cheese. I hate to admit it, but these were a southern delicacy I could do without. Even though the fried green tomatoes were a let down, the famous callabash chicken strips and that SAUCE, damn that SAUCE, were a delight. My favorite item included the Cajun Firecracker Sticks. Mmmm mmm mmm. Fresh, spicy shrimp, Andouille sausage, seared onions and peppers, spinach and melted jalapeño jack cheese rolled in tomato-basil tortillas. Crisp, fried to order and served with FATZ Onyum Sauce and spicy ranch. This is your typical American food restaurant, like Applebee’s or Outback, but I guess it’s a southern chain and I did enjoy it. I’d return for those firecracker sticks for sure!

This place reminds me of an Applebee’s, but tastes so much better. Their cinnamon butter rolls, which are brought out before the meal, are absolutely delicious. I’ve never had a bad meal, and each time I bit into my food, the sounds«mmmmmm hmmmm» oozed out of me. The staff was incredibly friendly and snappy with your requests. If you’re in the area, stop by… There’s not much else in Rockingham to choose from

Since it was our first visit, our server offered a sample of their World Famous Calabash Chicken®. And by ‘sample’, he meant a full-sized portion! Everyone from the table was able to try at least one tender(and we had a large party). They were really good. The chicken was nice and juicy and the coating was crispy, crunchy and well-seasoned. The menu is crazy huge with plenty to choose from. There’s poultry, salads, desserts, burgers and ribs. If you can’t find anything you like on THIS menu, then you’re just not hungry. Everyone from our party-of-12 enjoyed their meal and there were very few TOGO boxes being taken. Plates were cleaned, bellies were full and a good time was had by all. Since I was still full from a late breakfast, I decided on a banana split for dessert. At $ 2.99, I wasn’t expecting much but the serving was VERY nice. I had a few bites of the house salad while waiting on my dessert and that was good, too. It was a little more than a side salad and filled with way more toppings than your average house salad. Can’t wait to go back.

Kind of an odd name for a restaurant of this calibur. We were led here on the recommendation of our Small Group Instructor, and after just doing a 20-mile ruck march the day before, and being in the field, any kind of civilized food is welcome. But it’s more than just that. I’d compare this place to Ruby Tuesday’s or Rockola Grille. Here it’s that traditional American food, with that Southern American flare. When in doubt, order what’s pictured in the menu or at the top of the list in each category. Here, it’s more of a difficulty choosing what to get first, because all of the food is fresh and high quality. I was fortunate to come with a big group that ordered a variety of dishes. They have an attractive soup-of-the-day menu. For Sunday, I had a hearty tomato soup. I was more impressed with the appetizers than the main dishes. Wanting to order something that I couldn’t get in California, I went with the Fried Green Tomatoes. A buddy ordered the Cajun Firecracker Sticks, which are American eggrolls. The FGTs come on a bed of cheese grits and a salmon colored sauce that I want to call holandaise but they call remoulde. The FGTs were great. I also got to try the shrimp cakes, which came on the same bed of grits and sauce, but it wasn’t as impressive as the other appetizers. I had a chef salad, which was typical and of sufficient portion. The service will also keep you coming back. She was very friendly, even letting us play the birthday joke on our buddy at the next table. We offered to pay for the dessert, but she was kind enough to bring a cake for free. It would have been more laughable if they sang to him, but it’s just not that kind of place. One of the guys ordered a peach cobbler dessert to go. It’s kinda weird to order a dessert to go, especially when it comes with ice cream, but after having time to digest, it’s actually good foresight. It’s located at the entrance of a Super Wal-Mart, and a great destination restaurant after church. I’d love to come back and try each item on the menu.
