Perfect taste of Maine! Everything is fresh, portion sizes are generous. The fried Haddock is to die for.

One of the best meals I’ve ever had. My friend and I were in the area visiting Hope, ME, and we stumbled across Unilocal reviews for this place. It was definitely worth it. This is place is really so Maine. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the outdoor seating view of the water was such a perfect setting. Almost six months later, and I can still vividly remember the whole experience. Food-wise, we got the whole lobster special that day, which was a pretty good deal, and also the sampler of a three appetizers(crab cakes, bisque, chowder). All the appetizers were absolutely delicious, I wish we got full portions. Lobster was a decent size, very good. I mean, I’m not from Maine but it was the best whole lobster we had over the course of the trip(we ate three lobsters that weekend…). Bisque was my favorite, the flavors were on point(5⁄5). But really the atmosphere is so idyllic. Cracking open your lobster and watching a Maine sunset at low key lobster shack, it’s a great memory. Would absolutely recommend Claws!

This waterfront, seemingly simple, lobster shack has an extraordinary quality and complexity to its food. They have traditional fare like boiled lobsters, lobster rolls, crab rolls, etc. and then they make other things unexpectedly delicious like their scallop appetizer wrapped in maple cured bacon. We got a side salad and were pleasantly surprised by the blueberry vinaigrette that accompanied it. We love this place and went back several times over our vacation. They even had a great deal where you got two boiled lobsters for $ 20. Even the corn was fresher and sweeter than any corn I’ve ever tasted. It’s a small, It’s an unassuming, stop on the side of the road but well worth it!

My first Maine lobster experience! I’m a huge fan. The weather wasn’t great but fortunately, there is covered seating with heaters. We ordered the special– twin lobsters for $ 20. Great deal, in my opinion. The lobster bisque was very good, as was the lobster mac n cheese. The portion size for the mac n cheese was small though, for the price. Everything else was worth every penny.

This place gets 4 because it was quintessentially what Maine is. Good food atmosphere and people. This makes 3 buoy from portland look poortland the chowda sampler with crab cake was intense. These soups punched you in the mouth with flavor. The crab cakes were crabby and crusty. The fact that there was variety on wines, beers, and condiments is unbeatable. Location parking and view are stellar nice for groups or for your solo foodies. That nice lady at the counter very good welcoming to everyone. Im sure many would say it’s divish and not a fancy joint but its good eating outdoorsy. I want to go back for the chowdah’s

i am 70 years old, and my wife and i have had many many lobster rolls, but the one at Claws was the absolute best ever. It was tender and flavorful, with no filler at all, and just enough mayo to hold it together. We had to eat half of it before we could pick it up in the wonderful buttered roll. it was so good we went back to next day to make certain we were not dreaming. The sides were great also, the owners extremely friendly, and the place was spotless.

Best bathroom ever !!! The food is just as amazing, but check out the bathroom. So many highlights, I don’t even know where to begin: 1. Twin lobsters $ 20 2. Lobster Roll 3. Seafood Chowder 4. Bathroom comics, bathroom amenities, floss, Q-tips, deodorants. 5. Endless supply of hot sauces. 6. Full belly fried clams. 7. cold beer and wine 8. Friendly service We stopped her 3 times in our trip to Camden. You must check it out. Call in your order, they have to-go too !

It was our first time trying fresh lobster in Maine and I’m glad it was here. Steve, who worked at the counter, suggested a great local beer(the red claw) & showed us how to crack open our piping hott crustaceans. We ordered the twin special at $ 20. What a deal! We made it a combo with corn and slaw for $ 4 extra(worth it). Steve said a 1lb lobster is more of a snack because you don’t get as much meat. He said if you order a 2 lb’er it is enough meat as a meal alone. Needless to say. our next shot at it will be with a 2 lb clawdaddy

While in Rockland for a meeting I decided to try a local restaurant rather than grabbing a value meal at a burger place. I logged onto Unilocal and I was lead to Claws, and it was good! I got the crab cakes and lobster roll boat. The crab cakes came with two good size cakes and homemade tartar sauce. Delicious! The lobster roll was fresh and lightly dressed, but I would say it was huge. Quality is certainly there though. The cole slaw could have been a bit more tart for my liking, but the golden raisins were a nice touch. The French fries were a pleasant surprise too. Usually places like this have frozen fries(meh) and focus on he seafood. Claws does them both well! Hot crispy fries with soft middles, coated with flaked salt and pepper. Yum! Claws also has a great condiment bar with just about everything you want. The unsweetened ice tea tasted odd too maybe, maybe just super strong? I’d do a soda if I come again. The view is okay, nothing special as far as Rockland goes. Generally I’m not a fan of outdoor seating with it was nice today since it wasn’t too hot with a cool breeze. There is off street parking too! Definitely give Claws a try, you won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I were on our way to Acadia and decided to take the coastal route up… Best decision ever! We wanted to get some good seafood(lobster roll and haddock specifically) and stumbled across this place on our drive. Nice location overlooking water, friendly staff and most importantly probably the best tasting lobster roll and broiled lobster roll we’ve ever had. No joke. Loads of lobster meat(tail, claw, knuckle) prepared just right. Not overloaded with mayo and bursting with fresh lobster flavor. My wife got the broiled haddock sandwich and it was delicious. Perfectly flavored. Would definitely recommend this place again. Can’t go wrong.

Quite possibly the best lobster roll I’ve ever had. I’m from Maine, and I’m a huge fan of lobster rolls. There are a bunch of places making lobster rolls along Route 1 in the midcoast area, and many are quite good, but Claws is the best I’ve had. Here’s what makes Claws so great: — Generous portions — Extremely fresh — Simple, yet uniquely flavored — Mayo perfectly covers each morsel of the delicious, fresh lobster — Great atmosphere with outdoor seating overlooking parts of Rockland harbor — Friendly staff — Clean and quirky bathroom — Supporting Rockland, which is way cooler than supporting some of the pretentious tourist traps nearby

My husband and I were visiting Rockland ME for the first time and decided to eschew some of the fancier local spots to try Claws, based on the great reviews and the fact that we wanted to get a real local flavor. This place delivered on both! Totally unpretentious, friendly, and clean spot with a great atmosphere and food to match. Some highlights: — the 2 lb jumbo lobster, with drawn butter — fresh and awesome — the VERY generous and flavorful lobster roll, on point with all its flavors — well-done sides(we had coleslaw, fries, and corn) — nice local beer selection — the bathroom papered in lobster jokes :) All in all, this place was exactly what we had in mind when we booked our vacation to maine, and I mean that as the highest compliment. Local or tourist, definitely try this place!

We for lunch with my husband, it was excellent. I had the 1 ¼ pound lobster with corn, he had the role-both were phenomenal. We met some nice locals and another couple from Virginia! We may have to have lunch there again before we head home.

Tasty seafood at reasonable prices. Our favorites were the whole lobster with butter(of course) and the fried scallops and whole clams. You can taste how fresh it is, rather than the bland long-frozen seafood you might get elsewhere. The fried were thick-cut and crispy, with a bit of seasoning. I think their cocktail sauce is homemade, because it also had something extra. Great place! We also enjoyed having some beers and looking out over the water. Again, good prices.

Darling little road side lobster shack. Lobster mac and cheese was amazing. A little pricey and we waited a long time but I think they were brand new and still working out the kinks. The lobster roll was fine, turns out I’m not a big fan of lobster rolls.

It is wrong just how good this place is. The food is exceptional, the prices are great and the service is wonderful. This is an adorable fish stand on the side of the road with a lovely deck to eat on with beautiful views of the bay. On to the food!!! We had Soft Shelled Lobsters — Probably the best lobsters we ever had. Sweet and succulent. Totally fresh. Lobster Mac n Cheese — best we ever had. Heavy on the lobster, light on the cheese. Seafood chowder — delicious Kraft Mac n Cheese for the kids — I highlight this because if your kids are like mine, they don’t want the fancy stuff. They want Kraft. Crab dip with chips — Off the charts good. Like french onion dip with chunks of crab, believe it or not it works — very well! I can’t say enough great things about Claws. The bathroom is immaculate with whimsical lobster & crab cartoons on the walls. They also have individual dental floss for you to clean your teeth after eating ears of corn. There are assorted soaps and hand sanitizers to choose from. All in all a great dining experience.

Stopped into this little seafood stand today on a sunny beautiful day working in Rockland Maine and we were pleasantly surprised of the freshness, the charm and the waterfront seating with a nice breeze coming in off the water. We ordered the clam dip with chips that was creamy and rich and chunky with bits of clam and onion(owner said it was a family recipe) and it was to die for and delicious. I ordered the clam roll for 12 $ which normally would be about 18 – 20 any other coastal town for the amount of crab lathered onto the buttered and grilled roll. This was simply delicious and mouth watering.(Owner stated the crab was from Northport from a local fisherman doing it for the past 30 years) The person I was with got the haddock sandwich for about 10 dollars and she said it was one of the best she has had and was also deliciopus and fresh. Now, because the place is pretty new, all of the picnic tables were fresh and new pine wood and the umbrellad seating was just enough shade to block the bright and hot sun from today. The staff was super friendly and the décor was a beach scene with the old fashioned feel of a fried seafood stand.(they even had a doggie bowl with water in it where you order food in case you want to bring your little friend with you for dinner) The menu ranged from chowder, steamed clams, crab and lobster(including a special dinner of twin lobsters for $ 15.99. If you are in Rockland let’s support local and check this little gem in Rockland out! Summer time hours are 11:00am-9:00pm
