I’ve been to my fair share of Goodwills, but this was my first opportunity to visit one in the great state of Maine. There seems to be an abundance of thrift/consignment shops in the area, probably due to the seasonal crowd. This Goodwill struck me as being particularly neat and clean. For example, the shoes were all lined up single file on shelves. My only complaint is that the selection is relatively small: there was only a half a rack of women’s sweaters, half a rack of activewear tops, etc. I totally second the idea of looking for Maine paraphernalia/souvenirs here – although I could only find Alaska t-shirts when I was here, it’s worth a try!

Huge location with lots of good, cheap items and friendly Maine staff. If you’re a tourist like me, visiting with a local, don’t waste your money at a gift store buying a cup that says Maine– just go here and buy one for 50 cents! You can also get lucky and find LL Bean boots for around $ 15!
