This is a dangerous place to go with kids — but they will have a blast! So many interesting toys and many are out for them to look at and for us too of course. I like the atmosphaere and the variety of what they offer. A nice place to visit and pick up something that you have never seen before.

Cool toys, a little expensive for midcoast Maine.

Awesome toy store with toys and books for both kids and adults. I ended up with 3 books here: the best of Where’s Waldo, the handbook to New England Lighthouses, and Sh*t Happens(a small book with bizarre stories of things going wrong — very amusing). They really are a fun store to check out if you’re ever in Rockland and want to connect to your inner child.

I love independent toy stores, and this is one of the best of the bunch. Just the décor signals that this a prime place for the kid in all of us(the air ducts are dressed up as caterpillars and worms and dragons). They’ve got toys for kids of all ages, from infants to geezers, and they sell a little bit of everything(stuffed animals, games, comics, sports stuff, make-believe etc.) And these are not your run of the mill toys that you can find at any KB Toy Store either. This is unique quality stuff. And as such it’s a bit more expensive than KB Toy Stores. But the salespeople let you try it without a word of protest.(My nieces played with the stuffed animals for two hours and no one approached them about stopping.) Bottom line, if you’re a kid(tall or small) this is a must in the Rockland area.
